President Vladimir Putin said in remarks published on Wednesday that Finland and Sweden’s entry into NATO is “a meaningless step” and that Russia will deploy troops and systems of destruction to the Finnish border after Finland joins the alliance.

“This is an absolutely meaningless step (for Finland and Sweden) from the point of view of ensuring their own national interests,” Putin told Russia’s RIA state news agency and Rossiay-1 state television in a wide-ranging interview.

“We didn’t have troops there (at the Finnish border), now they will be there. There were no systems of destruction there, now they will appear.”




Once ww3 begins, Finland is will be first battlefield as Russia will seek to neutralise it with nukes and scare the rest of the West.

Relax, it's just the usual impotent chest-beating from Vladolf. He's
not about to open a second front - he hasn't got the means (but maybe
he wants to emulate his mentor). He'd be better sending his battalions
to the Far East, just in case Xi senses an opportunity to take back
Manchuria.

Russia isn't going to nuke anyone. They have already said that they
wouldn't carry out a first strike, and we know how trustworthy they
are. Fortunately, the more sensible and sober among them
know that a nuclear strike on a NATO country would result in Moscow
and St Petersburg being turned into glass car parks. Their air
defences are so poor, they can't even stop all the incoming drones.
