I get it, but still Nadal looked good.

Nadal will be going all out to win slams. He doesn't want to die
wondering what coulda been. If he doesn't win a slam this year he won't
be back in 2025. If Novak doesn't win AO and Nadal wins FO it's 24 v 23
and they will be around for a couple more years.

This is inspiring stuff after about full year of not competing.
He looks at least a half a step slower if not two compared to young
Nadal but the touch is there, aggressive play, best forehand ever to
grace the tennis court... and serve seems to be awesome from what I
could gather from the highlights.

Thiem obviously wasn't playing his best. But a wonderful thing to see
Rafa back in action. Vamos!

Nadal obviously thinks he can win FO, maybe 2 more. He really wants the
slam record and won't give up until he can't play his best, or Novak
gets so far ahead to make it impossible to chase down. That academy and
museum of his is set up for the goat, so he'll try his best to get back
on top - fun times : )
