Yep. That's how it goes.

Sinner will be fine. I was very impressed with the way he was playing
during the week and he probably would have been favourite against
Alcaraz on this court.
So looking at the photos in the following links, Sinner looks to have
grown a bit. He's taller than both Djoker and Rune who are listed as
6'2". I think he also plays with contacts because I've seen him with spectacles off the court. https://www.atptour.com/en/news/sinner-turin-2023-final-reaction https://www.reddit.com/r/tennis/comments/17xwkin/rune_expressing_humility/

You know, there's something supernatural about what Novak is achieving
at his age. It's like he went down to the crossroads or visited a brujo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ntz9xrtAIXk

But Alcaraz isn't Djokovic. Sinner FAILED the big test at this tournament. He couldn't even make it close. I give him credit for facing it though.

Well, even Fed couldn't beat Novak in the final of this tourney. Fed beat Djoker in the RR stage in 2015 but still lost in straights in the final. Losing to the current 🐐 is not an embarrassment.
I do give Sinner a huge amount of credit. I knew he was on something of a hot streak coming into this tourney and thought that was the matchup that could go either way. I sometimes think that people forget how close Sinner came to beating Alcaraz whenhe had a matchpoint in that epic US Open match. In that match, it was his serve that let him down badly. He had a low 1st serve percentage and hit something like 11 dfs. That's almost 3 games worth of points he gave away and he still almost beat Carlos.
