From TT@21:1/5 to All on Fri Oct 20 22:59:26 2023
Ladies and gentlemen, TT proudly presents... Mirra Andreeva!

Has set her sights at winning 25 slams:

    https://www.straitstimes.com/sport/tennis/mirra-andreeva-16-wants-25-grand-slams-but-won-t-become-tennis-diva

Old news but not sure if this was posted here already in the summer.

I saw Andreeva play against Leylah at HK (lost in 3), and almost posted
here that she could/should be a future top player. Rising rankings fast
and #49 already, at 16. Turns 17 in April. Nice looking solid game.

At least she's not lacking chutzpah!

I like her. Interesting too that she has an older sister on the tour, ranked below 100 though.

I've seen some highlights of Mirra in the Leylah match and a couple of others. She has the attitude like Steffi had at 16, like she feels like she should be beating these top players already and their only edge is experience.

I think her physicality reminds a bit about Steffi as well. Strong fast
    legs etc.

Here's the Leylah vs Mirra highlights for people who haven't seen her. https://youtu.be/NCQdr0d3hDc?si=4Gu-d07n_djx_P5v

Sort of scary how good she could be in few years time.

I saw her lose junior AO final in January this yr in 3.5 hr slugfest
that had everything. I'm amazed she's transitioned so easily to WTA and crushed some top players along the way.
