• Finland lets gay men donate blood now

    Because of woke.

"According to the blood service, the barrier to donating blood caused by
sex between men is often perceived as unfair and discriminatory."

    -

The reason why they weren't able to do so before despite having same
partner was of course because of HIV.

For example in USA 70% of HIV infections are from gay men.

    https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/statistics/overview/in-us/incidence.html

That means the risk of gay males having HIV is around 100 fold compared
to heterosexuals, according to my quick conservative calculus estimate.

    Quick googling finds that:

"Men Who Have Sex With Men Have a 140-Fold Higher Risk for Newly
Diagnosed HIV and Syphilis Compared With Heterosexual Men in New York City."

Well, I for one would not want them to feel bad, Just because some
unwokesters are worried about a tainted *public* blood supply.

Nothing. But one would expect that blood donors do it from goodness of
their heart... so if medical professionals have allowed this then the
potential gay donor is likely to think that it's perfectly ok for him to donate, because people normally trust judgement of healthcare authorities.

But the problem is that it's not still ok... healthcare authority didn't

What stops a closeted gay man from donating blood? The honor system?

Nothing. Red Cross and other oerganization are moving towards a more
epxensive harvesting system for just this very reason.

"...platelet transfusions are associated with a higher risk of sepsis and fatality than any other blood component, with some research estimating the chance of a serious infection at 1 in 10,000."

"Under those recommendations, hospitals can buy platelets specially
processed to reduce pathogens, which is the method the Red Cross and some other, smaller suppliers are moving toward. Or blood centers can test
samples of each unit of platelets, looking for bacterial contamination, at least 36 hours after the blood is collected. The other option is to use a
rapid test for bacteria shortly before the platelets are transfused, which occurs in addition to a primary screening for bacteria after collection.

The FDA did not rank the options. And many hospitals and blood centers
already employ one or more of them. No test or process is 100% effective."

Gays and drug addicts have no honor.

New cases in USA are 70-80% gays.

I think I saw stat that people who carry it are 85% gay.
That's a lot considering they're only something like couple percentages
    of population.

It simply spreads through anal intercourse much more easily than otherwise.

I read an estimate that it spreads every 70th anal intercourse. So a 4
month "steady" relationship may not help.

it's nearly always been around 95% gays that have/carry HIV, the media covered this up by the way during most of the late 80's onwards to try to make it a global problem that affected straight people which it didn't. Very few straight people are/were
infected except from blood transfusions like Arthur Ashe(very sad).
