Term came from bridge into golf into tennis.
Winning top 4 major championships in golf was dubbed as Grand Slam. Very soon, almost at the same time, in tennis too for its 4 major championships.consists of another 2 that were not part of the original sequence.
Golf majors aren't known as grand slams, but in tennis, they're falsely known as that.
Grand Slam in golf happened in 1930, and never again. Not only that, two championships were dropped over the next couple of decades (amateurs), and in cca 1960s the term was reinvented as two pro events were hailed as big ones, and nowadays Grand Slam
For tennis, I think it would be best to use the terms such as majors, ITF official titles, or merely ITF titles for those big 4 in tennis.
Laver has 2 Grand Slams and and Djokovic has 24 ITF Official Championships.
Djokovic has 24 grand slams and Nadal 22 grand slams...no.

Patrick says "majors" could confuse people with the army, so they should be called "Fedams" cos everyone knows Roger Federer as he is so famous and also more importantly was the first man to get 20 of them and that's a HUGEEEEEEEE landmark benchmarkthat we should all look to and respect.
