• Stan The Man giving Sinner a run for his money

From Kalevi Kolttonen@21:1/5 to All on Sat Sep 2 21:15:51 2023
I just watched The Evil Dead. Now I will join the
match between Sinner and Stan The Man.

It is one set all and 4-4 in the third set. It
seems like 38 year old Stan The Man is giving
Sinner a run for his money. That's pretty amazing.

    Go Stan!

Aargh. Stan won only two games after that. It
was a pretty clear victory for Sinner after
    all, fourth set going 6-2.

HAHAHHAAH why on earth did you think Stan would win?

It was one set all and 4-4, so dead even. Stan could
have won, but I am not disappointed as Sinner is also
    one of my favourites.

I only saw bits of the match, but it seemed a situation where Stan had to "red line" to take a set from Sinner, while Sinner was expending fewer resources. It felt inevitable he'd win unless he unraveled. Stan might have won a 2-of-3 set match, but not
at the Open. His last win over Sinner was 2019.

there's absolutely zero chance that Stan at his current level could beat Sinner who is almost "at peak".
