    Sisu = guts, persistence, perseverance, spunk, grit, drivenness, etc.
    The "essence" in the headline is a googleism. Ignore that.

    One of the favourite myths Finnskies like to entertain of themselves is
    that no matter what happens, "sisu" will save the day. Well, it seems
    Finnskies are the least spunky of them all! Who knew!
