Today American tennis star Chris Eubanks was announced as the winner of 2023 OPPO Breakthrough Inspiration Award for his efforts at Wimbledon

Established to recognise excellent performances during The Championships, the OPPO Breakthrough Inspiration Award honours young players who have excelled and made breakthroughs and aims to inspire them to reach new heights in their playing careers.

This year’s other shortlisted candidates also included Mirra Andreeva, Marta Kostyuk, and Jiri Lehecka, but it was 25 year old Eubanks who triumphed after recording victories over higher ranked players including beating Cameron Norrie and Stefanos
Tsitsipas before losing in a close 5 set battle with eventual semi-finalist Daniil Medvedev.
