• (OT) President, PM react to Purra furore: Zero tolerance for racism; es

Prime Minister Petteri Orpo (NCP) said in a statement on Tuesday that it
was essential that Finance Minister Riikka Purra (Finns) had renounced
violence in a blog post she wrote late on Monday.

It was the PM's first public reaction to an emerging furore over racist
and violent comments apparently posted by Purra on a right-wing blog in
2008. She has neither confirmed nor denied that she wrote the posts,
which include references to "Turkish monkeys" and a desire to shoot
Somali teenagers on a commuter train.

On Monday afternoon, Purra published a defiant blog post in which she
said that she felt no need to resign or to apologise for past comments,
even though she would not write some of them now.

In a series of tweets late on Monday evening, Purra appeared to distance herself more from her past online comments, writing that "my angry text
is just angry text, nothing else. I do not accept and have never
accepted any kind of violence….As I said before, of course, in this
position, stage of life and age, I wouldn't write anything like that,
and I no longer agree with many things at all. I have expressed myself
in ways that today I would not accept."

Orpo emphasised that the governing parties are committed to an
"egalitarian, safe society where no one needs to feel afraid". He added
that all government ministers and parties must act in accordance with
    these principles.

Orpo also said that he does not accept racism in any form.

The PM made the comments in a message sent to the news agency STT
    through his assistant.

President Sauli Niinistö, who rarely comments on day-to-day domestic
politics, spoke briefly about the emerging Purra scandal when he arrived
at the Nato summit in Vilnius on Tuesday.

He said that the Finnish cabinet "would be wise to adopt a clear
    zero-tolerance stance on racism".

    The train has gone already.

Now we just have to wait who is the next victim of this never ending
leftist witch-hunt. I know for a fact that Halla-aho used the word
    "neekeri" (negro) in 1991.

Poor bastards, hoping that swedes party, RKP, will break the coalition.
But I think they will likely elect to stay in government the entire
term, while virtue signalling to their voters. Money talks bullshit walks.

People do not change. And those post were not written in "tongue in cheek" (someone dug: Purra's massacre reference just after one Finland school massacre 2008). That would not be still not that bad if teenager had written those... but Purra had already
graduated 2005 and was already 30y+ adult.

Too bad: Purra has know-how and is charismatic and can lead people (well she technically alone decides regardless of PM if coalition is up to go or not)

Is Finland better with Purra, I'd say yes, we finally have real opposition instead of joke, laugh, gimmick and niche....

Btw, problems were much bigger than just partying, and it's showing now
in economy. They really fucked up everything, except perhaps Covid
    response and NATO.

As for partying, Marin partied while on duty, disgraced the office,
endangered the security and coke was quite likely used at the party...
Marin may have used it herself as well.

Also they reduced significantly freedom of speech with hate speech law.
And our national security & economy with insane immigration policies.
Reduced productivity & common sense with wokeism. Wrecked the school system.
Of course previous governments also played a role.

Yeah, I agree that I wasn't too impressed with her posts. But her
writings have been taken a bit out of context. And it's not serious
    forum... much like RST.

A somali had made a gesture to shoot her (with finger... "bang bang",
she was responding to that in her post plus another post about gun
    rights for women only.

I think it's perfectly normal reaction. If a somali mimicks to shoot me,
I'd certainly say something similar to my friends... for example:

    "olis kyllä rynkyllä/kirveellä tehtävää"
"Tommoset pitäis viedä saunan taakse" etc...

As I already wrote previously... it's the ONLY party trying to do
something about immigration. Too lax immigration policy is quite bad for
the economy and society. This has been noticed all over Europe.

But I would never vote her.

To some extent, yes. She knows what strings to pull. But the
potty-mouthed cruelty of what she says in her messages is callous. She
has this vibe around her that makes these findings not unexpected. A
somewhat smart person who thinks she has it all figured out.

Judging by what she has said recently, she doesn't regret a thing.
Despite the token apology. A familiar pattern. Echoing what Halla-aho
said a couple of years ago of his past blogging, what she regrets is the
way she says, not what she says. A crim regrets he got caught.

The "zero" in "zero tolerance" (for racism) should have been a "zero
means zero" zero. But it wasn't. Our strongman Orpo Rukka might have to
pay for that, because it isn't over.

did she really say she'd mass-murder all foreigners or did she just say she'd attack against a Somali who was violent towards her? sounds a very extreme take on her view.

why should she, it was on an Internet forum years ago and from what TT says, she was just giving back what she was getting.

Despite the token apology. A familiar pattern. Echoing what Halla-aho
said a couple of years ago of his past blogging, what she regrets is the
way she says, not what she says. A crim regrets he got caught.

yes but your fave Hillary Clinton has always done this too, all politicians do the same, they always claim to have "made an error of judgement". Look at Hunter Biden, no apology etc.

The "zero" in "zero tolerance" (for racism) should have been a "zero
means zero" zero. But it wasn't. Our strongman Orpo Rukka might have to
pay for that, because it isn't over.

most Finlanders are very racist against Russians and they are white, for us non-Finns, can you tell us the difference?

Most Finlanders are very pragmatic. Taught by strong gypsy culture? (strong where I lived my childhood?).

Russians were very welcome (until maybe Ukraine invasion) up North Finland I had my childhood. They even had "only Russian speaking" shop assistants at major Northern shops.

Only racism I have ever encountered is just : "wrong color and wrong assumptions"
I think and I think most Finns do; you will be judged by your personal acts, not what your looks are....

To some extent, yes. She knows what strings to pull. But the
potty-mouthed cruelty of what she says in her messages is callous. She
has this vibe around her that makes these findings not unexpected. A
somewhat smart person who thinks she has it all figured out.

you want to kill all Russians simply for being Russian, don't give us these anti-violence lies.

If you think I must be charged for Russophobia, do set up a court for
    that. See you there. Lol.

In the meantime, Purra, a cabinet member, has to answer for her doings.
She will in the polling booth at the latest. Who knows whether she is
sueable for what she has said. I bet somebody is taking a look into that.

Despite what the run-of-the-mill chump might think, there is no
equivalence. The two don't balance each other out. Russophobia gets you
a medal, not a disqualification. But there is an equivalence between her
and those making excuses for her without even knowing anything about
anything. That is the equivalence of a skunk being naturally attracted
    to a skunk.

Finland was ruussophobic in 1940s and they got punished.

It's russophobic again and it will be punished again.

You won't get away like you did in 1944 when you promised to be neutral and you broke that promise.

Your promises are worthless and you won't have a chance to promise Russia anything ever again. Nobody is going to ask you anything or negotiate with you.

After Russia/China break evil homosexual NATO, Russia will secure itself the way it sees fit in its surroundings.

And it was Soviet Union, not Russia (1941)

Well, it is maybe inflation (to use term: racist).

The essence is still: you? neighbor? Not so? wrong color?

To turn this racism issue into climate/other political stuff .... kind of makes mockery of the original idea?

To some extent, yes. She knows what strings to pull. But the
potty-mouthed cruelty of what she says in her messages is callous. She
has this vibe around her that makes these findings not unexpected. A
somewhat smart person who thinks she has it all figured out.

you want to kill all Russians simply for being Russian, don't give us these anti-violence lies.
If you think I must be charged for Russophobia, do set up a court for
    that. See you there. Lol.

In the meantime, Purra, a cabinet member, has to answer for her doings.
She will in the polling booth at the latest. Who knows whether she is sueable for what she has said. I bet somebody is taking a look into that.

Despite what the run-of-the-mill chump might think, there is no
equivalence. The two don't balance each other out. Russophobia gets you
a medal, not a disqualification. But there is an equivalence between her
and those making excuses for her without even knowing anything about anything. That is the equivalence of a skunk being naturally attracted
    to a skunk.

it great you finally admit to being racist against Russians, but you haven't given us any evidence at all why it's not an equivalence. If Russophobia gets you a medal, why shouldn't racism against Somalians get you a medal? Somalia is violent etc. Purra
deserves a big medal and might get lots and lots of votes according to your logic.

If Icy did not get; this Purra we are talking about - she is
self-confessed racist since 2008 or so.

And her popularity -> some folks with lesser tools to operate......

But I have to repeat this: she is charismatic.
To some extent, yes. She knows what strings to pull. But the
potty-mouthed cruelty of what she says in her messages is callous. She
has this vibe around her that makes these findings not unexpected. A
somewhat smart person who thinks she has it all figured out.

you want to kill all Russians simply for being Russian, don't give us
    these anti-violence lies.

Certainly not sueable (is that even a word?) for something she wrote 15
    years ago.

As for her muslim women black bags comment from 2019 blog post, I think
it's not much offensive and prohibiting this kind of opinion writing
closes in on totalitarian society. Freedom of speech and all.

Sometimes one needs to stir the pot a bit to start a discussion.
Getting rid of muslim women burkhas etc is a good cause for sure.

    https://riikkapurra.net/2019/03/05/maa-joka-taantui/

Despite what the run-of-the-mill chump might think, there is no
equivalence. The two don't balance each other out. Russophobia gets you
a medal, not a disqualification. But there is an equivalence between her
and those making excuses for her without even knowing anything about anything. That is the equivalence of a skunk being naturally attracted
    to a skunk.

She's a fine lady. And relatively smart. Honest politician for a change

Well, at least we used to...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATfLeyx0-Xk

Judging by what she has said recently, she doesn't regret a thing.
Despite the token apology. A familiar pattern. Echoing what Halla-aho
said a couple of years ago of his past blogging, what she regrets is the
way she says, not what she says. A crim regrets he got caught.

The "zero" in "zero tolerance" (for racism) should have been a "zero
means zero" zero. But it wasn't. Our strongman Orpo Rukka might have to
pay for that, because it isn't over.

What do you mean it wasn't?

And her popularity -> some folks with lesser tools to operate......

But I have to repeat this: she is charismatic.
To some extent, yes. She knows what strings to pull. But the
potty-mouthed cruelty of what she says in her messages is callous. She >>>> has this vibe around her that makes these findings not unexpected. A
somewhat smart person who thinks she has it all figured out.

you want to kill all Russians simply for being Russian, don't give us these anti-violence lies.

But there is an equivalence between her
and those making excuses for her without even knowing anything about
anything. That is the equivalence of a skunk being naturally attracted
    to a skunk.

it great you finally admit to being racist against Russians, but you haven't given us any evidence at all why it's not an equivalence. If Russophobia gets you a medal, why shouldn't racism against Somalians get you a medal? Somalia is violent etc.
Purra deserves a big medal and might get lots and lots of votes according to your logic.

She does. And liberal politicians who got Europe to this mess deserve
    something else.

    Great speech from Le Pen...

You may joke about it, but it's what's on the record. Apparently Finns are bunch of true retards?

Part of them are like yourself, you hate 80-year peace you had Russia and are truly happy that you've declared war on them last year? However I'm curious if you would have cheered for that when you were in your 20s. It's easy now, being 60 years old. Do
    tell us?

The other part of Finns are like Mikko, perhaps generally not as filled with hatred towards Russia, buf still sufficiently russophobic due to toxic environment they live in. He seems totally oblivious over the fact that Finland declared war on Russia? He
doesn't really get it? He genuinely thought I was trolling him and that I wasn't dead serious?

But then again he's oblivious on issues such as Kalergi and population replacement so could just be generally naive? So his own russophobia is of a more general mold, petty liberal stuff.

Sure it is...Russia's strategic goal is to eliminate all of its neighbours as it always has been.

Russia's goal is to fend off rivaling empires, and you deranged idiots like Finns thinking (anything) is about you is a sign of two things.

    1. You're stupid. It's like Gasquet assuming his R2 match at FO vs Nadal is the main match of the tournament. For world it's not. Nadal was marching to meet Federer or Djokovic in the final.

    2. You're deluded racists, you lack I won't say respect, but simple objective recognition of the fact Russia is a major power and that it can do and will do anything other powers do. It's a chess game between them. And no, Finland won't get to do that
    stuff.

Your smart approach would have been peace with Russia, your neighbour, not turning yourself into battlefield on behalf of some other major power on the other side of the planet. Today Ukraine, tomorrow you. It's like literal definition of Russian
roulette. You play with nothing to gain.

As for "Russia's goal being elimination of neighbours", When you were part of Russian empire, you had your money and fiscal independence. Right? And did you survive as people?

Nowadays you don't have your money and no fiscal independence and you have more dark people in Finland than you ever had Russians.

Enjoy the flourishing of your nation and people.

And nukes is all it has.A weapon that can't be used.

    Disgusting.

Not my call.... but back then "mutual benefits" I suppose.

Met just couple hours ago a man from Oulu.
He wasn't too impressed with all the multiculturalism in Helsinki.

I could imagine that an average joe from Oulu is confused about real cities... "oooh....multiple traffic lights, so high buildings..."

As it happened... he actually was marveling the height of the building.
I live on 12th floor, the building is also on top of a hill. so 80m up
sea level. I can see Tallinn TV tower from my apartment. Well, need
    binoculars.

Thought he was a new neighbour but was just visiting Helsinki for a
    week, for holiday probably.

"we don't have any this tall buildings in Oulu. But we're building one
    16 stories high!" :)

Only racism I have ever encountered is just : "wrong color and wrong assumptions"
I think and I think most Finns do; you will be judged by your personal acts, not what your looks are....

Oulu has become rape capital of Finland. Yet you're still proud of your

I am mostly liberal, but it did not know Oulu is nominated "rape capital of Finland".... links? (I know most public cases some years back though, but were these cases by absolute numbers any significant compared to other places..... I do not know?, Do
    you?)

Nah, I don't know stats about it, it's just a feel based on so many news articles about the topic & the term was used at some Finnish Twitter discussions.

Btw, I did use to visit a Russian barber woman. She was nice.

In Ukraine they might. Tactical nukes. But I think that's a stretch too.

That was the second time, but this is now the third time in the period of cca 100 years. So three declarations of war, it's too much even if coming from you.

PS spare me of linguistics and semantics stuff. If you mean to nitpick on declaration of war, I have a news for you, nobody has declared war in 80 years, it's just a way to say it and emphasize who made the first official move. Nobody's wearing hats

Similarly don't troll with it's Russia not USSR or vice versa. It's their state entity. Whether it's England or Britain of UK, you won't act silly and claim it's UK, not British etc.

That was the second time, but this is now the third time in the period of cca 100 years. So three declarations of war, it's too much even if coming from you.

First declaration of war, 1917 illegal secesion from Russian empire. Major stuff.

Short history, Russia conquered the territory from Sweden in 1809 to protect itself, and then lol in 1917 territory "leaves" Russia, taking with it even eastern Karelia that Russia attached to the territory AFTER it had acquired it. It was a sign of good
will to let most Finns live in one unit, but since the whole of Finland was necessary for Russian security you can imagine then the importance of eastern Karelia and St.Peterburg neighborhood that Russia acquired much earlier from major power Sweden.
Surely someone had to have brains there to know what it means, no?

Second declaration, yes, the 1940s stuff. You refused to return Karelia and Russia needed to secure itself against major power Germany and then you did exactly that, attack Russia with Germany slaughtering (starving) over million people in Leningrad (St.
Peterburg). Shame on you. A genocide.

Third declaration is this modern stuff. There was 80 years of peace between Russia and Finland, but evil Finns don't like peace? They put millennial whore in charge and she leads them straight to war?

Apparently Finns have heard there is a killing machine and a military alliance whose members kill Russians and work to destroy Russia, and then Finns volunteered to join it, or at least didn't object and didn't resist when they were told to join it.
There you go, so you're now at war with Russia.

Was that smart considering you're now the first line when war spreads?

You seem to have this mind disease, thinking that Russia attacks neutral countries, instead of enemy countries, like everyone else does?

Trust me, they attack their enemies and those who attack them, and now that's you.

PS spare me of linguistics and semantics stuff. If you mean to nitpick on declaration of war, I have a news for you, nobody has declared war in 80 years, it's just a way to say it and emphasize who made the first official move. Nobody's wearing hats

First declaration of war, 1917 illegal secesion from Russian empire. Major stuff.

Acknowledged by the SU. Interpreting declarations of independence as a declaration of war in 2023 is somewhat (re)tardy.

Second declaration, yes, the 1940s stuff.

Even the continuation thing was technically started by the SU. You know, bombings and stuff.

Finland might of broken the Moscow peace accord before that, for all I
care, but that was as a result of having to balance between a couple of
rather stark choices. A situation where your attack in 1939 put them
    palefaces in.

You can't cherrypick from history. Like gender, it is a continuum. Or
rather, you can, but that makes you look like a schmoe with an agenda.

Short history, Russia conquered the territory from Sweden in 1809 to protect itself, and then lol in 1917 territory "leaves" Russia, taking with it even eastern Karelia that Russia attached to the territory AFTER it had acquired it. It was a sign of
good will to let most Finns live in one unit, but since the whole of Finland was necessary for Russian security you can imagine then the importance of eastern Karelia and St.Peterburg neighborhood that Russia acquired much earlier from major power Sweden.
Surely someone had to have brains there to know what it means, no?

Second declaration, yes, the 1940s stuff. You refused to return Karelia and Russia needed to secure itself against major power Germany and then you did exactly that, attack Russia with Germany slaughtering (starving) over million people in Leningrad (
St.Peterburg).

Nobody's wearing hats
anymore either, but they still say hats off.

Similarly don't troll with it's Russia not USSR or vice versa. It's their state entity. Whether it's England or Britain of UK, you won't act silly and claim it's UK, not British etc.
