• Matteo Berrettini

At the rate he is playing, I can see Berrettini winning in straights
sets over Alcaraz. Yes, I believe that.

Glad that he (Berrettini) is apparently over his injuries, including
testing positive for COVID in 2022. His forced withdrawal in 2022 was,
quite frankly, BULLSHIT. I wonder if anyone at Wimbly has ever
apologized to him for it. It may have cost him a slam title.

Meanwhile I see many masked folks at the Tour De France. What is up with
that? Are they making a statement or are just paranoid about today's
breathing air. If they think masks are effective, are they aware that
n95 masks must be medically fitted?

    Just wondering.

Wouldn't be a great surprise, Berrettini is prob 2nd best grasscourter
last 3 years. The way I look at it is if the kid can't beat Berrettini
and Djoker then he doesn't deserve to win Wimbledon this yr. Simples.

I watched him against Jarry. He's a strange sort of play.

He won basically on his serve, his athleticism, and his ability to make exceptional shots. There was never any sense that he had a basic
strategy for Jarry, only spur of the moment tactical decisions. He is
winning because he is an outstanding athlete. He needs to develop a
    mental game.

Jarry was a deliberate and unflappable plodder.
