I haven't hung around here in a while because of the general desertion of
the group,but I just belatedly,and delightedly,learned of this past
August's World Figures Championship and the related World Figure Sport Organization.

As I have said before,
Truck drivers should drive trucks,
fire fighters should fight fires,
and figure skaters should skate figures.

This spurred my first revision of the SkateCentral page in 12
years,though much more is still out of date there.

School figures just do not make money for the ISU, arenas, or TV/radio networks. That is why school figures were abolished years ago by the isu. Nobody wants to watch them.

And who the fuck cares if anybody wants to watch them. They're necessary
to prove that people have actual skating skills instead of just the
tricks.

Abolishing them was just the kind of lily-livered political correctness
crap that your type always complains about.
