AEW Road to Double or Nothing Finale Feat. Omega, Mike Tyson, Meltzer,
Awesome Kong, Shawn Spears & More

What will likely be the finale of All Elite Wrestlings The Road to Double
or Nothing series, entitled Epilogue, is now live on YouTube. You can check
out the video above.
This weeks episode starts out with Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks sitting
in an empty arena, again joking about 20,000 people being at the MGM Grand
for Double or Nothing, with Cody trying to explain that its closer to
13,000. Kenny Omega then joins them.
Shawn Spears (fka Tye Dillinger) is interviewed, and says that he believed
in AEWs concept but it didnt sink in until he saw the production crew
setting everything up at the arena. He says he was nervous for the first
time in a very long time, but also more confident.
We see footage of Brandi Rhodes introduce Awesome Kong at Double or
Nothing, and the insane reaction from the live crowd. Kong is interviewed
and says she was actually nervous about losing her footing because the
crowd was literally shaking the floor.
Theres interviews with everyone in this episode including Dustin Rhodes,
who talked about the excitement and passion of the crew behind the scenes, saying that everyone is happy to be there. Billy Gunn put over the young
talent and the crowd seeing things theyve never seen before.
Kenny Omega says that he was disenchanted by wrestling and couldnt stand watching a weekly wrestling show, but it was the joshi scene and their
passion that brought him back. He says he is proud to feature their talent,
and excited about AEW being able to offer a variety show with so many
different aspects of the business from all around the world included.
Dave Meltzer was brought in to talk about the moment where Cody famously
(or infamously, perhaps) destroyed the throne before his match at Double or Nothing. He talked about how the match was built around building sympathy
for Dustin and Cody having to play the heel. DDP and Dustin also weighed in
on the match, and Dustin actually called it the most important and
satisfying story-driven match of his entire career, as shots of people
crying in the crowd were shown.

While nothing is official, there have been a few creative ideas pitched for
the new WWE 24/7 Championship to be defended on platforms other than weekly television.
Currently the title has been featured on Raw and Smackdown Live, but
according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there have been ideas
batted around about having it also defended in segments at the WWE
Performance Center, as well as on the companys various social media
platforms, including YouTube and Instagram.
R-Truth is currently a two-time WWE 24/7 Champion after losing and winning
back the belt on Smackdown Live this past week, which was the first time it changed hands on the blue brand. Titus ONeil, Bobby Roode and Elias have
also held the title.

Rachael Ellering, who goes by Evers in NXT, was involved in a scary
hit-and-run incident this week after being hit by a drunk driver, while on
her way home from the WWE Performance Center.
Evers noted on Twitter that her vehicle was hit on the passengers side and that, fortunately, she is okay and was not seriously harmed in the
accident. Luckily, she managed to catch up to the driver that hit her and
not only got a close-up photo of him, but his license plate.
Let me start by saying this: I am ok.
I was hit by a drunk driver today on my way home from the PC. Hit and run.
I’m extremely thankful it was my passengers side that was hit. Some people aren’t so lucky-please DONT DRINK AND DRIVE.

Side note: as he drove off, I ran after him and got the best pictures of
both his plates and face. I love a good cardio challenge. pic.twitter.com/lKeDJgfFKN

Update On AJ Styles Being Pulled From Raw, How Long Hes Expected To Be Out
Posted: 31 May 2019 11:11 AM PDT
https://www.prowrestling.com/update-on-aj-styles-being-pulled-from-raw-how-long-hes-expected-to-be-out/
Earlier this week, AJ Styles was pulled from a Fatal 4-Way match meant to
crown a new #1 contender to the WWE Universal Championship. He was
ultimately replaced by Baron Corbin, who won the match and will face Seth Rollins for the title at Super Showdown next Friday.
The Phenomenal One was interviewed backstage and claimed that he was
removed from the bout due to injury, after feeling something pop in his
lower back. They then seemingly wrote him off television when he was
attacked by Corbin.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the injury claim is
actually legitimate as Styles is currently listed on WWEs internal injury report. That being said, it looks like he wont be out of action for very
long, as his timetable for return is only about a month.

Yim has been working her way up the black-and-yellow brands womens division ever since making it to the quarterfinals of the 2018 Mae Young Classic,
where she was eliminated by tournament winner Toni Storm.
In a backstage interview following her win, which you can check out above,
Yim states that after her big win she has her eyes set on Shayna Baszler
and the NXT Womens Championship.
This actually isnt the first time she has come after the Queen of Spades, however. It was Shayna who eliminated Yim from the first ever Mae Young
Classic in the second round of the tournament, and the two locked up
several times on the indie scene before signing with WWE.

NJPW Best of the Super Juniors
Day 13 Results
May 31, 2019
Its been a long journey over the course of the past three weeks, but the A Block has finally come to an end. With an all-time record-breaking
performance, Shingo Takagi has taken the block with an astonishing 18
points to remain undefeated, defeating the previous record held by Finn
Balor and Low Ki (16).
Bullet Clubs Taiji Ishimori and IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Dragon Lee
both finished the block with a respectable 14 points, but neither could get past the obstacle of New Japans seemingly unbeatable Last Dragon, who has
yet to be pinned or submitted since joining the promotion last October.
While Marty Scurll finishing with a 5-4 record has to be somewhat of a disappointment for The Villain, 10 points is the highest of his three performances in the annual tournament so far, after earning 8 points in
both 2017 and 2018. One other notable name is Jonathan Gresham, who
finished 4-5 with 8 points (not a small number for an outsider coming in
for his first time) and really put himself on the map.
