some suplexes to put Bliss down. The Sharpshooter doesn’t work and it’s off to Cross for the faster pace. A running bulldog gets two on Natalya and the fisherman’s neckbreaker connects, but Bliss steals the pin at 5:39.
Result: Nikki Cross/Alexa Bliss b. Naomi/Natalya Fishermans neckbreaker to Natalya (5:39)
Ricochet vs. AJ Styles
Non-title. Ricochet tries his flipping counter to a wristlock but AJ just
drops down into a headlock for a smart counter. They get up to their feet
but here are the Good Brothers to stand at ringside. Anderson offers a distraction but AJ goes to the floor and throws them out so they can’t ruin the match. That’s fine, as the match will be restarted after the break.
Back with Ricochet flipping into an anklescissors to stagger AJ and a
dropkick gets two. Ricochet starts in on the arm and rolls AJ up for two
more but Styles is right back with the Pele. Another dropkick sends Styles outside though and that means the big running flip dive to take him down
again. Styles is fine enough to suplex him into the corner for two and it’s off tot he reverse chinlock.
Ricochet fights up so Styles hits a spinning backfist, which is answered
with an enziguri. A springboard clothesline into a standing shooting star
press gets two on AJ. The moonsault into the reverse DDT gets two on
Ricochet, followed by the Phenomenal Blitz for the same. Ricochet knocks
him down again and hits a moonsault for two but the 630 misses. AJ’s
forearm sets up the Phenomenal Forearm for the pin at 10:54.
Result: AJ Styles b. Ricochet Phenomenal Forearm (10:54)
AJ helps Ricochet up to end the show.

It had been previously reported that early ticket sales for WWE Stomping Grounds 2019 were quite low and that a number of seats were still available
two weeks prior to the event. But how many people actually were in
attendance?
According to Matt Farmer of DEFY Wrestling, around 6,000 people were
actually there for the show, making it one of WWEs lowest attended
pay-per-view events in a long time.
In addition, it was reported that there were many 2-for-1 sales and comp tickets being given out in order to fill the arena.
@davemeltzerWON maybe 6,000 in building. Tons of comps, 2 for 1s.
Probably smallest PPV crowd in a long time.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, it was noted that the paid attendance was somewhere between 4,000-4,500 people. Dave Meltzer also said that many
tickets were given away at the mall earlier in the day.
Below are some photos showing how poorly attended the show was:

Editors Opinion:
This is really bad in some ways, and good in others. Although the numbers
were dismal, the energy that the crowd showed for the matches and
superstars that they wanted to see was quite impressive. However, there is
no excuse for these low figures, and WWE needs to fix it quickly.

RUMOR: WWE To Try New Type Of Match Going Forward?
Posted: 24 Jun 2019 08:22 AM PDT

This is only a rumor, so take it for what its worth. It had been previously reported that Vince McMahon made a recent decree, which will see no more wrestling action taking place during commercial breaks of WWE programming.
According to a report from PWInsider, there has been talk backstage of the company of trying out a new format of wrestling matches, which would
include multiple rounds. This is similar to the old European style of
rounds matches.
It could involve something similar to this type of match:

A similar format was introduced in Impact Wrestling in 2016, when they
debuted the Grand Championship. It was used until 2018, when it was unified with their World Championship.
Editors Opinion:
Honestly, I think that this is a terrible idea. I get that WWE feels that
they need to try new things because they are losing their fan base, but
when youre trying to emulate something that didnt work in Impact Wrestling, then youre really scraping the bottom of the barrel. WWE fans will pick up
on it too, which will only make the situation worse.
