Davey Boy Smith Jr. Set To Challenge For MLW National Openweight Title

    Posted: 24 Jun 2019 10:34 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/davey-boy-smith-jr-set-to-challenge-for-mlw-national-openweight-title/

    MLW issued the following:

Davey Boy Smith Jr. challenges Alex Hammerstone for National Openweight
    Title July 6 in Chicago

Who will have the power and the gold?

A championship colossal showdown make shake Chicago to the core this summer
as the reigning National Openweight Champion Alex Hammerstone defends his
belt against 66 Davey Boy Smith Jr.

MLW today announced the National Openweight Championship Title Match Alex Hammerstone vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr. for MLW: Kings of Colosseum at Cicero Stadium in Chicago. The event is a TV taping for beIN SPORTS on Saturday
    night July 6th with a 7 p.m. bell time.

Tickets start at $10 at http://www.MLWTickets.com.

Alex Hammerstone has vowed to have all the power and all of the glory when
he defeats Davey Boy Smith Jr. in a championship clash between two of MLWs strongest athletes. But will Hammerstone be able to match Smiths grappling, agility and pure, raw power?

This is a big fight. Literally, said MLW CEO Court Bauer. Fans have been curious about what would happen if these two forces collided and on July 6
    well find out.

The golden boy of the Dynasty, Alex Hammerstone along with his cohorts
Richard Holliday and MJF have been a thorn in the side of the Hart
Foundation since February when they attacked Teddy Hart following a title
    fight in Philadelphia.

Most recently the Hart Foundation had one of their tag team titles stolen during an assault that preempted a Holliday-Hart bout.  Now, the Dynasty technically have 1/2 of the tag team titles as this feud continues to heat
    up over the summer.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. is focussed on championship gold and payback for the cowardly and calculated attack by Dynasty. But the confident Hammerstone is undeterred in his campaign to prove he is the true power of MLW.

Who will triumph at Cicero Stadium Saturday night July 6? Find out LIVE.

Buy tickets starting at just $10.

Tickets are moving fast for MLWs return July 6 Chicao card. Buy General Admission tickets starting at $10 at MLWTickets.com.

Update On Rey Mysterios Injury & Timetable For His Return To The Ring

    Posted: 24 Jun 2019 08:06 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/update-on-rey-mysterio-when-is-he-expected-to-return/

A new report by PWInsider.com has provided more details on when former
United States Champion, Rey Mysterio is expected to be returning to the
    ring.

According to the report, the word backstage at WWE Stomping Grounds was
that the veteran should be making his return to WWE in late July, meaning
he would be back in time for WWE SummerSlam in August.

Mysterio has been out of action since Money in the Bank when he suffered a separated shoulder against Samoa Joe, which forced him to relinquish the
    United States Championship.

Tucker Comments On Heavy Machinerys WWE Stomping Grounds Performance

    Posted: 24 Jun 2019 07:28 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/tucker-comments-on-heavy-machinerys-wwe-stomping-grounds-performance/

Last night saw Heavy Machinery challenge for the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships, and Tucker commented on his teams performance.

Even though the former NXT duo was defeated by Daniel Bryan and Rowan, it
was an impressive performance from Heavy Machinery that certainly turned
    fans heads.

Tucker stated on social media that he loves Otis, and that they have
battled together for three years, adding that they are only just getting started.

For 3 years @otiswwe and I have battled together, I love that man.

Tonight at #WWEStompingGrounds #HeavyMachinery had our 1st PPV match, we
gave it all to win those titles.

    We failed.

More News On The Low Attendance For WWE Stomping Grounds

    Posted: 24 Jun 2019 07:24 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/more-news-on-the-low-attendance-for-wwe-stomping-grounds/

More news has been made available regarding the poor attendance for WWE Stomping Grounds last night, with WWE failing to sell out the show.

Despite the fact that The Tacamo Dome can hole around 18,000 people after production, WWE failed to bring in even half of the possible number to last nights show.

DEFY Wrestlings Matt Farmer noted on Twitter that there were around 6,000
fans in attendance, with a lot of the arena being tarped off. This is one
of the smallest WWE PPV crowds in a long time, with a lot of the tickets
being comped or bought on 2 for 1 deal.

@davemeltzerWON maybe 6,000 in building. Tons of comps, 2 for 1s.

Probably smallest PPV crowd in a long time.

    - Matt Farmer (@mattfarmer93) June 23, 2019

Dave Meltzer noted that the actual paid attendance was a poor 4,000-4,500
fans, which highlights just how low the actual interest was.

However, it is worth noting that even though the attendance was poor, WWE
did a good job of making it appear full on TV, whilst the fans in the
building were loud throughout the night.

Rey Mysterio Discusses His Relationship With Vince McMahon & A Dream Match
    With AJ Styles

    Posted: 24 Jun 2019 07:00 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/rey-mysterio-discusses-his-relationship-with-vince-mcmahon/

Rey Mysterio recently spoke with WrestlingInc.com where he discussed his relationship with Vince McMahon and a possible dream match with AJ Styles.

On his relationship with Vince McMahon:

Its evolved at a great pace. Fourteen years prior to me leaving, and coming back, its been close to 16 years of being part of WWE. When I came back it really felt like home. My relationship with Vince has always been great and
its built to where its at right now. I was intimidated by Vince at first because I knew it was going to be hard to get the opportunity to perform at that level. When the belief was there, I put in all my effort to give the
    best.

A possible dream match with AJ Styles:

Thats a very big statement coming from AJ. Although weve been wrestling for
the same amount of time, AJ was never part of the WWE until recently….So, I would really love to throw down with AJ and not just in a regular stage,
but a big state like WrestleMania. I think thats one of the matches that
could go down in the history books, stated Mysterio.

Natalya Blogs About Her NXT Womens Championship Match Against Charlotte
    Flair

    Posted: 24 Jun 2019 06:14 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/natalya-blogs-about-her-nxt-womens-championship-match-against-charlotte-flair/

Natalya wrote her latest blog for the Calgary Sun where she spoke about her
NXT Womens Championship match against Charlotte Flair.

With the 25th NXT TakeOver having taken place a few weeks ago, it got me thinking about why we need to believe in ourselves and each other.

I was a part of the first NXT TakeOver that took place on May 29, 2014.
When I was asked to be on that show, I remember being excited about working towards something great and wanting to create a masterpiece. NXT at the
time was WWE’s developmental system, but since that time it has grown incredibly into a successful third brand for the company. I was asked to be
in a match with an up and coming female superstar from NXT by the name of Charlotte Flair. Like myself, Charlotte is carrying on her family’s legacy
as she the daughter of the legendary Ric Flair.

In 2014, Charlotte never had a match or a moment where the NXT fans could
see what she was truly capable of. I remember my first encounter with her
was backstage in the NXT locker room. We were talking about following in
our families footsteps, how hard it is and how we both felt more pressure
than others to be our best.

Charlotte said to me: “Sometimes I don’t know if I’m good enough or athletic enough. Everyone expects me to be as good as my dad and I’m just getting started.” I told her how funny it is that she mentioned this to me because it was exactly how I felt for many years of my early career. I also felt that I wasn’t “enough.” It’s so easy to feel that way in a world where
    everything is moving so fast.
