6/17 WWE Raw Viewership Up Slightly While Third Hour Rating Stumbles

    Posted: 18 Jun 2019 04:30 PM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/6-17-wwe-raw-viewership-up-slightly-while-third-hour-rating-stumbles/

The June 17th edition of Monday Night Raw was watched by an average of
2.235 million viewers, up just a tick from last weeks total of 2.125
    million.

The first two hours of Raw topped Monday night cable ratings drawing an estimated viewership of 2.33 million and 2.3 million, respectively, with a
0.7 rating in adults 18-49. VH1s Love & Hip Hop Atlanta took the third spot from the top, with the final hour of Raw lagging just behind with 2.08 million viewers.

While the modest increase is technically good news, expectations were much higher given this was WWEs first week in a long time without competition
from the NBA and NHL playoffs. For the sake of comparison, the June 18th edition of Monday Night Raw in 2018 was watched by 2.9 million people, down nearly 23% year-over-year.

THE NEW DAY KICKS OFF SMACKDOWN
We are getting things started tonight with WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston who
is flanked, as always, by his New Day brothers, Big E and Xavier Woods!
Xavier says that everyone is well aware that this Sunday we will see Kofi Kingston against Dolph Ziggler, but only if Dolph makes it through him
    tonight.
The group then look to make a few jokes but Dolph Ziggler has no interest
at all as he comes out saying that this is typical of the group, trying to distract everyone. Dolph says Kofi doesnt deserve to be WWE Champion and without the group, he would be nothing.
Ziggler says on Sunday, they cant be there for him and he makes it clear he doesnt believe Kofi can get the job done on his own, stating the next time
he goes to Ghana it will be an apology tour. Dolph says he will grind Kofis face and teeth into the steel cage and it will be him kick ass and taking names.
Kofi tells Dolph that this WWE Championship journey began in the
Elimination Chamber, so he is fully aware of what brutalities await him and
he is good with that. He adds that whether he pins Dolph, climbs the cage
or goes out of the door, he will beat him at Stomping Grounds and will
    remain the WWE Champion.
However, Kofi says he should be worrying about tonight because Xavier Woods
has been itching to pop Dolph in the mouth.  Ziggler says he hasnt
forgotten what Woods did at Super ShowDown because of him he isnt WWE
Champion, and he says after tonight, Woods will never be able to help him again.
However, Dolph takes it back to Sunday and says that all the jokes come crumbling down when they are locked inside a steel cage.
    DOLPH ZIGGLER vs XAVIER WOODS
The number one contender quickly looks to bring Xavier Woods down to the
mat, but the New Day member goes for a series of near falls to foil that
plan. Ziggler then shoves Xavier out of frustration and that lights a fire
in Woods who picks up the pace and ends up planting Ziggler on the second
rope which he follows by a big kick to the back as Ziggler hangs.
Dolph wastes no time in getting in some offence of his own though, with a
cheap shot that proves to be effective. Zigglers momentum doesnt last long though and Woods manages to hit the Honor Roll as he then scales the top
    ropes.
But Woods plans dont happen as Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn appear and attack
Kofi and Big E on the outside, distracting Xavier. The WWE official removes them from the ringside area, and Xavier puts a stamp on that by hitting
them with a crossbody from the top turnbuckle to the outside.
As he returns to the ring Dolph catches him and plants Woods with a big
DDT, although Xavier is able to kick out. As we return from commercial
break, Woods catches Dolph with a huge forearm, but Ziggler kicks out just
in time as we learn that everyone has been banned from ringside.
Woods then flies through the ropes with a dropkick to Ziggler, sending him crashing into the desk and Woods then power lifts Dolph above his head and
hits a massive gutbuster in an amazing feat of strength. The match isnt all Woods though as Ziggler rocks him with a big superkick on the ring apron
and he follows it up with a major Zig Zag.
Xavier smartly rolls under the ropes but that doesnt bother Ziggler who
instead ties him up in the ropes and attempts an arm bar. With Woods tied
up and unable to defend himself, Ziggler rocks him with a devastating
    Superkick to get the win.
    Winner: Dolph Ziggler

Steve Austin Recently Cleared The Air With Jon Moxley After WWE Network
    Podcast "Haunted" Him For Years

    Posted: 18 Jun 2019 02:24 PM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/steve-austin-recently-cleared-the-air-with-jon-moxley-after-wwe-network-podcast-haunted-him-for-years/

WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin is finally back on his weekly
podcast series, and you may have heard that his first guest in over six
months is none other than AEW President Tony Khan!

During the compelling interview, where the two ran down last months AEW
Double or Nothing pay-per-view in detail, the former world champion came
clean about the infamous WWE Network podcast he filmed with Jon Moxley
(then known as Dean Ambrose) back in 2016.

Fans may recall that the two had an incredibly awkward interaction during
the filming of the live podcast, with Austin attempting to push his controversial guest for legitimate answers, while the WWE Superstar seemed unsure about what he was allowed to say, given that the interview was being presented on an official WWE platform and he was the reigning world
    champion at the time.

Some have even gone so far as to suggest that Moxleys decorated run in WWE
was killed dead in the water due to the interview, with speculation raging online for years now that there has been heat between the two stars.

However, Austin has revealed that he recently had the opportunity to speak
with Moxley on the phone and clear the air between them. Stone Cold even
admits that the podcast has haunted him ever since it took place, and that
its something he thinks about on a near-daily basis.

I did a Stone Cold podcast a couple years ago with Dean Ambrose, and for whatever reason we got off on the wrong track, and it was a rough podcast.
I have been carrying 1,000 pounds on my back ever since that happened. I
felt so bad about that interview. Im there to get people over and make them come off like a million bucks. We got off on the wrong street, kept taking
left turns and we never got back on track. And for all this time I felt
    like shit about that interview.

Everybody thought there was heat between myself and Dean Ambrose. I didnt really know what to think because I didnt really know Dean real well. I respected his talented, Id researched the hell out of him, seen all his
indie stuff I think hes an amazing talent.

That one thing is something I think about almost every single day.

We had the best 30-minute conversation, getting back on the same page.
There was never any personal animosity between us. I didnt know how he felt about me. I thought he might hate my guts.

Heres the thing. Ive been on top of the wrestling world. Theres been a
point where I was the hottest thing on two feet in the wrestling industry.
Ive had great matches with some of the greatest wrestlers in the history of
the business. It happens. You can have two supremely talented people who
got out there and just shit the bed. Things dont happen the way you want
them to, and thats what happened to me and Dean.

We got back on the same page. He never hated my guts. He was a Stone Cold
fan back in the day, and Im a huge Jon Moxley fan. So whoever thought that
I was picking on him during that interview, or whatever anybody thought I think hes going to come down to Los Angeles and were going to do the
    podcast together.

This has haunted me for so damn long. People think theres this forcefield around me where I dont feel things. I do. And when I dont make someone look
the way that Im supposed to make them look, that haunts me. Im looking
forward to talking to Jon Moxley.

Austin also squashed the rumor that the Stone Cold podcast was cancelled on
the WWE Network because of the interview, confirming that he had simply fulfilled his contractual obligations.

People said the Stone Cold podcast got cancelled because of how bad that interview was. No. I fulfilled my commitment, and thats why the podcast stopped.
