can preview that with Ken Shamrock in the straitjacket against Jeff Jarrett. This brings out Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco with Pat asking why Vince
is going so nuts over Stephanie (Patterson’s goddaughter) dating Test. Pat says Vince and Shane can go to h*** and Brisco tells them to get their own coffee on the way. Vince puts them in a match against Mideon and Viscera.
My goodness this is the Russoiest opening segment Russo ever put together.
How many gimmick matches were just thrown together by the evil heel stable
who were in cahoots the whole time?
Debut of the Rock’s Chef Boyardee ad.
Back at the office, Austin meets Vince’s aides but has them all bring him beer. One tells him that there’s a board meeting in five minutes but he doesn’t like board games.
    Road Dogg vs. Billy Gunn
Dog pound match, which is a dog collar match under a different name because
it makes Russo think he’s smart. Dogg is ready to fight but here’s Gunn in a neck brace, which JR says he didn’t see earlier today. The threat of Kane coming out scares Gunn enough to reveal that he was faking (that would be a
ten second angle) so Gunn decks Dogg in the face with the chain and chokes
    him over the rope.
Another chain to the head gets two despite the bell never ringing. Dogg,
the only one with the collar on, punches away and gets in a chain shot of
his own, but here’s for the save. A chain to Dogg’s crotch is enough to set up the Fameasser for the pin. Gimmick with a different name, fake injury,
not adhering to the rules, interference, low blow for the win. Why yes it
    is 1999.
Post match Chyna chokes with the chain and leaves Dogg laying. Oh and Gunn pulls down his pants to reveal the thong because it’s funny I guess.
Shamrock arrives and is told that he’ll be chaperoned by cops.
We look back at last week’s Rock vs. HHH cast match with Undertaker running in and beating Rock down.
Here’s Rock (it’s so strange to hear something other than IF YOU SMELL at the start of his song) for a chat. Rock talks about Undertaker coming out
here and rolling his eyes back in his head. Is that supposed to impress
Rock? What would really impress him is a title match with Undertaker at
    King of the Ring.
Rock tells Undertaker what he can do with his head and eyes but here’s Undertaker (with Paul Bearer holding the mic for him) to say that
sing-a-long time is over. The match is on and the rhyme time is over. Since that’s too easy, here are Vince and Shane to say hang on a minute. Vince thinks the only electrifying things about Rock are his shirts so Rock has
to win a non-title match tonight to earn the shot. What in the world was scheduled for this show coming in? That’s what, five matches announced tonight?
We’re STILL not done yet though as Shane says there will be a stipulation
for the matchwhich we’ll find out five minutes before it starts. In other words, they probably don’t know what it was yet and Russo needs to invent something BRILLIANT BRO to really make it great.
Jeff Jarrett and Debra are walking through the back when someone runs by carrying a chain. This seems to have nothing to do with anything else. Women’s Title: Ivory vs. Debra
Debra is defending with Jarrett at ringside. They waste no time in starting
the catfight and JR admits that it won’t be any good. Cue Nicole Bass less than ten seconds in and Ivory chokes with his scarf. Debra does it as well
so Jarrett gets on the apron for no logical reason, allowing Bass to
chokeslam Debra, giving Ivory the pin and the title.
Its not quite Becky vs. Ronda vs. Charlotte:
[This post contains video, click to play]
Back at headquarters, Austin throws out copies of a magazine about himself
and beer. He fires a vice president for looking stupid and replaces him
with a mail room clerk. His new job: having a beer ready for Austin on
demand. Austin meets his computer guy but we’re going to have a beer
drinking contest, straight out of Austin’s briefcase full of beer. He’s going to leave now, and if you’re still standing when he gets back, you
    still have a job.
During the break, Patterson tried to leave but Brisco told him to stay and fight.
    Test vs. Big Boss Man
Test is blindfolded and Boss Man isn’t. You get the idea: Boss Man hits
him, Test can’t see, a tackle takes Boss Man down, a nightstick shot disqualifies Boss Man less than a minute in.
Post match Stephanie comes in to call Boss Man off and he relents.
Austin went in to Human Resources and found a guy in an Austin tie. He
sends one of the specialists off to get him beer and tells the guy to read
the magazine (an orientation manual) because he might come back for a quiz. Maybe a question like what does Austin 3:16 means. The guy knows what it
means so Austin gives him some charisma lessons and they go off for further adventures.
    X-Pac vs. Big Show
Believe it or not, there’s no stipulation. Hang on though as Big Show says this isn’t happening. X-Pac says yes it is because he’s a man who fights for a living. A single kick earns X-Pac a trip to the floor and here’s Kane less than ten seconds in. Kane takes X-Pac’s place but X-Pac wants to do
it. That earns him a right hand from Kane but X-Pac kicks him down as well. Kane knocks Show outside so Show walks away as this was a segment instead
    of a match.
Shamrock gets put in the straitjacket and promises to beat up everyone who
    put him in.
    Recap of the Austin shenanigans.
    Recap of the opening segment.
    Jeff Jarrett vs. Ken Shamrock
Non-title with Shamrock in a straitjacket. Shamrock is wearing pants and wrestling boots with the jacket for a very weird visual. A knee bar and triangle choke with the legs only have Jarrett in trouble and Shamrock
takes him down with something like the ankle lock in a rather impressive display. A shoulder block sets up a choke with the legs to make Jarrett tap clean. So yeah, Shamrock just made the Intercontinental Champion tap clean while wearing a straitjacket.
Post match Vince comes in and steals the key for the straitjacket.
On GTV, Billy Gunn is getting a certain area shaved but there’s a blemish.
No one can know about this. I’m sure someone found this hilarious.
    Pat Patterson/Gerald Brisco vs. Mideon/Viscera
The Stooges coming out to Real American gets me every time. They both grab chairs but here’s the Mean Street Posse to lay them out. Mideon and Viscera come in for the big beatdown.
Austin goes to accounting and wants to see some numbers. There are some
losses, mainly due to things Austin has done over the years. Some of
Vince’s salary is going to Mick Foley for medical bills and Shane’s salary is now the beer budget.
Tag Team Titles: Kane vs. Acolytes
Kane is challenging on his own. The fight starts on the floor with Kane
sending Faarooq inside where Bradshaw has to make a save. Bradshaw comes in
and takes a side slam followed by the top rope clothesline. They head
outside with Kane being sent into various things before pummeling him
inside. Faarooq gets caught by the throat but Bradshaw gets in some chair shots, setting up a belly to back suplex/neckbreaker combination for the
    pin.
Rating: D. How bad is it that this was the best match of the night? They didn’t have much time but they had more than a minute and a half and there was no stupid gimmick to make the whole thing a waste of time. At least
they didn’t have the champs lose clean either, which is more than Jarrett
    can say.
Post match X-Pac comes in to save Kane from a worse beating.
Austin has manure brought into Vince’s office to improve the smell.
Here are Vince and Shane to take issue with the manure and announce the stipulation. At King of the Ring, we’re going to take the combined power
from all three of them and hang it above the ring for a ladder match. As
for tonight, Rock’s stipulationwill have to wait as here’s a free Shamrock to suplex Shane and send Vince running.
During the break, Vince left the arena.
    Undertaker vs. The Rock
Hang on though as we have a stipulation.
Undertaker vs. HHH vs. The Rock
Non-title. They waste no time with the double teaming with Rock being sent outside
and over the announcers’ table. Back in and Undertaker punches away for two as we’re waiting on the issues or the interference. Rock’s right hands don’t get him very far and the jumping knee to the face cuts him off again. They fight up the ramp with Rock punching away to a little avail but
    Undertaker uppercuts him down.
It’s back to ringside as Rock gets double teamed even more, this time with some stomps from HHH. Back in and more right hands set up Old School but
HHH accidentally crotches Undertaker (because STAND OVER THERE is too complicated) and gets catapulted into the corner. Naturally that’s a ref
bump (in a No DQ match) but Undertaker is back in with a chokeslam.
Rock pops up and sends them into each other though, setting up a Rock
Bottom and the People’s Elbow (knocking HHH off the apron in the process)
for no count. Another referee comes in for two with Chyna making the save.
The first referee counts two with HHH making another save but Chyna trips Undertaker by mistake. Undertaker goes after Chyna so HHH makes the save, earning a Stunner over the ropes. The Rock Bottom gives Rock the pin and
    the title shot.
Rating: D+. It was just a brawl for the most part and that’s not enough to really make something like this work. You knew that Rock was going to win
here but I’m not sure if I like the lack of interference or general screwiness or not. While it’s nice to see something actually go a little
bit calmer, it was expected the whole way and then never went down. That’s
    a little disappointing.
Post match Undertaker yells at Chyna so HHH steps in and a fight ends the
    show.
Overall Rating: D-. The Russo Train is still rolling along with a series of gimmick matches to set up another gimmick match at King of the Ring. Of
course very little was actually done for King of the Ring but this time was always about the TV. However, the TV was pretty terrible with nothing worthwhile in the ring and only some moderately amusing bits with Austin.
In other words, it may have been fun at the time when you never knew where things were going but it really, really doesn’t hold up.

Things Arent Looking Good. Huge Number Of Tickets Still Available For
    Stomping Grounds (PHOTO).

    Posted: 12 Jun 2019 10:11 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/things-arent-looking-good-huge-number-tickets-still-available-stomping-grounds-photo/

Ouch. We’re less than two weeks away from Stomping Grounds and the
reaction has not been the most positive. It seems to be a combination of having the major shows taking place so soon after another, the show being headlined by a series of rematches from Super ShowDown and WWE’s direction
in general, but at the moment nothing seems to be working. Now though, it seems that the situation is not looking good from a financial standpoint either.

As of Wednesday night, Ticketmaster.com is showing a large amount of seats still available for Stomping Grounds, which will be taking place in the
Tacoma Dome on Sunday June 23. The site shows hundreds of seats still available and with several lower sections showing more empty seats than
full. The other side of the dome has no seats available, which could mean
that the sections are either already sold out or that they were never up
for sale in the first place. The dome can hold about 15,000 people for a wrestling event.

Since things aren’t all that interesting at the moment, let’s go with something more fun. Check out a collection of Santa Claus stompings:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: Are you really surprised by this? Stomping Grounds has felt like
a nothing show for a long time now and there is little reason to believe
that the show is going to feel important, even when the show actually takes place. It can be attributed to the card and the show being rushed together
due to scheduling issues, but the interest is not there and WWE needs to
figure that out, both for this show and going forward.

How bad does this look? How empty will the dome be? Let us know in the comments below.

Summer Reading. Full NXT Taping Results For June/July *SPOILERS*

    Posted: 12 Jun 2019 10:07 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/summer-reading-full-nxt-taping-results-june-july-spoilers/

We have to keep going. WWE and all of its various brands have all kinds of television that need to move on week to week. While this can tend to wear
out the fans, without the product, there isn’t exactly much to the
wrestling company. That means having to run shows, and in the case of NXT, they have to be taped in advance. That was the case again on Wednesday
    night.

NXT was back at Full Sail University for more television tapings on
Wednesday. These shows will be airing over the next four weeks, though the shows were taped out of order so it is not clear when the shows will
actually air. NXT has already advertised a match for the June 26 show
however, so at least one match’s date has been set in stone. Here are the results, courtesy of Wrestlinginc.com:

    * The Undisputed Era comes out for a promo. NXT Champion Adam Cole says
they are going to remake NXT in their image and Cole says the show should
start like this every week and they throw to a new version of the NXT
opening featuring only Undisputed Era. Cole tells the NXT champions to
shine the belts up for the rest of Undisputed and nobody can stop them, not even Triple H. NXT North American Champion The Velveteen Dream interrupts
and says the NXT Championship would look amazing paired with his belt.
Roderick Strong goes after Dream but Matt Riddle interrupts. Riddle and
Cole jawjack and Cole tells Riddle he can go back to writing reviews online
for Attitude Era wrestlers. Tyler Breeze interrupts. Tyler says he was
talking to Mr. Regal and he doesnt care what is Undisputed or who is better looking, but he does care about Undisputed trying to take credit for a
brand that Breeze built before any of them got there. Breeze says itll be
the three of them vs. any 3 of the Undisputed Era in the main event

    * Damian Priest defeated Raul Mendoza. Raul fights valiantly, but the
former Punishment Martinez catches him on a dive and chokeslams him into
the ring apron. Priest with a spin kick and a crossroads for the win

    * NXT General Manager William Regal announces the NXT Breakout Tournament,
an 8-man single elimination tournament between talent that hasnt been on
TV. The winner receives a title shot of their choosing

    * Xia Li defeated Taynara Conti. Test of strength to start, the girls trade holds and pin attempts. Xia backs Taynara off with kicks. Taynara takes control. Xia fights back. Taynara ducks a spin kick but Xia hits her on the rebound and gets the pin

    * The Undisputed Eras Adam Cole, Roderick Strong and Bobby Fish defeated
The Velveteen Dream, Matt Riddle and Tyler Breeze. Riddle and Cole start.
Good exchange here. Cole rags in Roddy, but Riddle with some gut wrench suplexes. Fish in. Dream tags in. Everything breaks down and Riddle is left alone with UE. Cole hits a backstabber for a 2. Riddle intercepts a Panama Sunrise with a knee and gets a hot tag to Breeze. Breeze runs wild and hits
a Beauty Shot on Fish, but they pull him out of the ring. Dream blind tags
in and bickers with Breeze, leading to Riddle getting knocked off the
apron. Breeze and Dream superkick Cole, but Roddy shoves Dream into Breeze
and hits End of Heartache for the win

June 26, July 3 and July 10 Episodes:

    * NXT Breakout Tournament First Round: Angel Garza defeated Joaquin Wilde. Excellent match. Wilde is DJZ, Garza is Garza Jr. Garza wrestled the first
few minutes in his long tights, before tearing them away into trunk for a
pop. Garza with a modified pump handle flipout facebuster for 2. Garza in control. Wilde reverses a double arm choke into his own. Garza avoids a
dive, but Wilde dives through the middle turnbuckle and hits him. They
fight on the top rope. Garza with a Spanish Fly for two. Wilde with a
crucifix for 2. Garza hits a double underhook backpack drop for the win

    * NXT Tag Team Champions The Street Profits defeated The Forgotten Sons by
DQ. Quick match where the Profits were rolling, but when Montez Ford went
for a cover, Jaxson Ryker pulled him out of the ring and the ref called for
the bell. Forgotten Sons attack, but Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch make the
save. Lorcan and Burch grab the belts and stare at them before handing them
    to the Profits

    * Keith Lee defeated Nykos Rikos in a squash match. Keith pounces him into
the ropes and hits his Jackhammer move for the win

    * Mia Yim defeated Aliyah with Vanessa Borne. Aliyah pie faces her, but Mia gets up and knocks her down. Mia goes for a cannonball but Vanessa pulls
Aliyah out of the ring. Aliyah with an enziguri for 2. Mia gets the win

    * Kushida defeated Scott Parker. Parker is one half of 3.0. Kushida with
good technical work to start. Parker hits a dropkick and takes control.
Kushida fights back and gets the Hoverboard Lock for the win

    * NXT Breakout Tournament First Round: Cameron Grimes defeated Isaiah
Swerve Scott. Scott is Shane Strickland, Grimes is Trevor Lee. Good match. Grimes in control early. Swerve fights back. Hits the rolling cutter for 2. Swerve with a Sasuke Special. Grimes hits a running double stomp for the win

    * Bianca Belair defeated Priscilla Zuniga. Zuniga is Diamanté from LAX.
Bianca just dominates and hits her Belair Driver for the win

    * Roderick Strong defeated Tyler Breeze. Good back and forth to start.
Tyler tells the ref not to touch him trying to get him out of the corner,
which opens the door for Roddy to take control. Roddy hits a brutal
backbreaker on the edge of the ring steps, then on the guard rail. Tyler
with a backbreaker. Roddy hits a superplex for 2. Kyle OReilly and Bobby
Fish eventually run out, Breeze fights the off but Roddy hits End of
    Heartache for the win

    * Jordan Myles defeated Boa. Myles is the former ACH. Stokely Hathaway is
front row scouting this match. Good back and forth. Boa with a butterfly
suplex for 2. Myles takes control and runs wild, and hits a 450 for the win

    * Damian Priest defeated Blanco Loco. Loco is introduced from Mexico, New
York. Total squash. Priest hits his version of Crossroads for the win

    * NXT Breakout Tournament First Round: Bronson Reed defeated Dexter Lumis. Dexter is Sam Shaw, Bronson is Jonah Rock. Lumis takes control early. Reed
with a slam to regain control. Lumis with a kipup and a legdrop for 2.
Lumis misses a top rope senton. Reed hits a top rope splash for the win

    * Jordan Myles vs. Cameron Grimes and Bronson Reed vs. Angel Garza will be
    the semifinals of the tournament

    Taped For June 26:

    * NXT Womens Champion Shayna Baszler retained her title over Io Shirai in a Steel Cage match. Shayna has her MMA gloves on and starts with strikes. Io tries to climb but Shayna pulls her down and takes control. Shayna throws
up into the cage. Io with a cradle but only 2. Shayna back in control. Io fights back and hits two dropkicks with Shayna against the cage. Eventually
Io goes to escape but Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir run down and close
the door. Io goes to climb and Candice LeRae runs down to fight off the Horsewomen. Marina gets in the ring and Candice dives off the the top onto
her. Io does a moonsault onto Shayna from the top of the cage. Io crawls to escape, but Shayna grabs her in a choke. Io starts slamming the door on
Shaynas head until she lets go, but Shayna falls out of the cage to win.
After the match, Io turns on Candice and beats her down in the cage. Io
grabs a chair and hits Candice, then does a vertical suplex to her on the
chair before leaving. Referees and trainers come down to check on Candice.
NXT General Manager William Regal walks down to check on Candice. Crowd
begins to chant for him, but he tells them to stop. Candice is helped out
of the cage and to the back

This is what you might be getting from NXT. Check out a rather awesome
    match from this week’s show:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: This is more like it and based on what you’re seeing here, you can start to piece together the Takeover: Toronto card in early August. NXT continues to be one of the best things going in wrestling today and if they
do things right, we could be in for a classic show in Toronto. These
results give me a lot of hope for the future and under the right
    circumstances, everything could be great.

Which of these matches interests you the most? What do you see for the Takeover card? Let us know in the comments below.

PHOTO: You Have To Move Forward. Heres The New SmackDown Live FOX Logo.

    Posted: 12 Jun 2019 10:02 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/photo-move-forward-heres-new-smackdown-live-fox-logo/

It’s all about the branding. With the impending move to FOX getting closer and closer to SmackDown Live, a lot of things need to be done as WWE
continues to get things ready. This includes making the show look more
modern with some changes that need to be made. One such thing would be updating the show’s look a little bit and it seems that things are moving
    in that direction.

A new image is floating around Twitter, which shows a newly designed logo
for SmackDown Live when the show moves over to FOX on October 4. In
addition to the new logo, the advertisement includes Roman Reigns,
Charlotte, Bayley and Kofi Kingston, all of whom are currently part of the SmackDown Live roster. The current logo has been in use since 2016 when
the show moved to Tuesday nights on the USA Network.

Looks like theyre rebranding SD completely for FOX. Advertisement showed
off the dope new SD logo and I think a theme.#SDLive

WWE knows a thing or two about moving SmackDown Live. Check out an ad for their previous move from a few years ago:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: It’s not a surprise and it’s the kind of thing that needs to be done with a move of this magnitude. WWE has a major chance to make
SmackDown Live into something bigger and it would be hard to make the show
feel special using the same logo that has been around for years now.
Hopefully the show winds up being a success, but given where things are
now, I’m not sure I see that being the case.

Do you like the new logo? What is your favorite WWE show logo? Let us

RUMOR: Get The Cast Right. Big Update On The Upcoming WWE FOX Sports 1
    Studio Show.

    Posted: 12 Jun 2019 09:04 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/rumor-get-cast-right-big-update-upcoming-wwe-fox-sports-1-studio-show/

That’s quite the big spot. In about four months, WWE is making a huge move by having SmackDown Live head over to FOX, which will become the biggest
show under the WWE banner just due to the huge possibility of fans being
able to see the show. With that comes a bonus of a new studio show on Fox Sports 1, and now we might know a little something more about the show.

According to The Big Lead, Renee Young is the likely host for the studio
show, which will air at an unspecified time after WWE moves over to FOX.
WWE has confirmed that the show will be taking place with an announcement
back in April, but has not confirmed any additional details. There is no
word on what this will mean for her current position as a commentator on
    Monday Night Raw.

Young has experience as being the first at something. Check out how she
got ready for her Monday Night Raw job:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: This is far from a surprise and something that is rather
expected. Young is kind of perfect for the role as she has a great
television presence and is someone who would benefit greatly from getting
away from the Monday Night Raw desk. She has the natural personality to be great at something like this but there is only so much that can be done
with Vince McMahon yelling in your ear every few seconds.

Will Young be good in the role? Who should be her co-host? Let us know in
    the comments below.

Get them on the show. Over the last few months, one of the biggest
problems WWE has faced has been getting wrestlers on television. There are
all kinds of wrestlers, including champions, who are lucky to get on
television once or twice a month, if even that often. It becomes a problem when the roster is so big, yet NXT has somehow managed to solve the problem
in a single night of tapings.

At Tuesday’s NXT taping, General Manager William Regal announced a new tournament called the Breakout Tournament, which will feature eight
wrestlers who have never appeared on NXT TV. The winner of the tournament
will be allowed to challenge for any NXT Title of their choosing. This tournament is also noteworthy as it will include a variety of new signings
who will be appearing under their new names. Here are the brackets, with
the new and old names included:

    Jordan Myles (ACH)

    BOA

    Isaiah “Swerve” Scott (Shane Strickland)

    Cameron Grimes (Trevor Lee)

    Bronson Reed (Jonah Rock)

    Dexter Lumis (Samuel Shaw)

    Angel Garza (Garza Jr.)

    Joaquin Wilde (DJZ)

You’ll need to get to know Scott. Check him out under his more famous moniker:

Opinion: That’s quite the set of brackets and it’s very cool to see NXT getting these people on television. What worries me though is that if they’re bringing in this many people, a lot more of them are likely to be heading up to the main roster sooner. Given how things have been going in recent months on the main roster, that could be a disaster for the very talented people on the stacked NXT roster. Hopefully this isn’t the case, but you never know how bad it could wind up going.

Which of these talents has the most potential? Who will win the
tournament? Let us know in the comments below.

RUMOR: Heres How Kofi Kingstons WWE Title Reign Might End (Seriously)

I don’t see this ending well. Over the last few months, there are very few people in WWE who have been as polarizing as Shane McMahon. The son of the boss has been the most prominently featured names on the WWE television
shows with regular appearances on both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown
