    205 Live

    Date: June 4, 2019

Location: Sames Auto Arena, Laredo, Texas

Commentators: Aiden English, Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness

I don’t even know what to make of this show anymore. It seems like they’re trying to turn Tony Nese into the next big thing around here but I’m not
sure that’s going to work. At the same time though, they have the General Manager running around chasing R-Truth and the 24/7 Title on the same show. Hopefully things settle down this week. Let’s get to it.

Drake Maverick gives us the opening preview.

    Opening sequence.
    Akira Tozawa vs. Noam Dar

Hang on though as Drew Gulak jumps Dar from behind and takes out his leg.
Dar says that it’s broken and Maverick comes out to say that you can’t start 205 Live like this. Maverick swaps in Gulak and we have a replacement.

    Dar wasnt happy about this:

    Akira Tozawa vs. Drew Gulak

Drew is in basic black trunks this time and his hair looks more slicked
back. Tozawa puts Gulak down with chops to start and drops the backsplash
for an early two. Gulak comes back with some shots out of the corner and a
fall away slam for a bit of a change of pace from Gulak’s usual stuff. The cravate goes on but Tozawa slaps out and tries the Black Widow, which is reversed into a suplex.

It’s off to a chinlock as the match slows down quite a bit. That’s broken up as well so Gulak goes with the jumping elbows for two as the announcers
talk about him using a different style. The neck crank goes on (Aiden: “The Drew Gulak of old would be grabbing a hold.”) before switching back to a chinlock.

Now it’s a double arm crank as Gulak is mixing up the holds. Tozawa fights
up and kicks him to the floor, setting up a running flip dive off the
apron. The regular suicide dive connects and Gulak is knocked over the announcers’ table. Back in and Tozawa’s missile dropkick gets two, followed by the Black Widow. The hold breaks down but Gulak manages to get his foot
on the rope for the break. Now it’s Gulak’s turn to take him down, this time for a Texas Cloverleaf.

That’s broken up as well so they slug it out with Gulak getting the better
of it off a hard clothesline. A gutwrench faceplant gets two and it’s off
to the nerve hold. Tozawa fights up with a basement dropkick as we hear a producer in a voice probably not meant for us. Gulak counters the top rope backsplash with a superplex and a torture rack backbreaker finishes Tozawa
    at 13:39.

Result: Drew Gulak b. Akira Tozawa Torture rack neckbreaker (13:39)

    Its the new edition:

Mike and Maria Kanellis don’t like the idea that Mike isn’t the best. It’s
not because he hasn’t been on TV enough because he’s been the best since he debuted here two years ago. He deserves a chance because he’s not
complacent. It’s time for Drake Maverick to pay attention to him instead of chasing the 24/7 Title so send him the best competition.

Tony Nese saw what happened in the first match and while he gets that Drake
is busy, he’ll listen to whatever decision Drake comes to.

The Lucha House Party is ready for Lars Sullivan and they’ll be ready for
    the Singh Brothers too.
    Oney Lorcan vs. Ariya Daivari

Lorcan takes him into the corner to start to go after the banged up ear,
which Daivari grabs in pain. The test of strength goes to Daivari but
Lorcan fights up and grabs a double arm crank. Daivari reverses into one of
his own and the hold stays on for a good while.

Lorcan finally flips out and tries the early half and half, which is
blocked without much trouble. A middle rope crossbody gives Lorcan two and it’s so quiet that we can hear fans talking in the background. Lorcan works on the arm and tries a cross armbreaker, sending Daivari feet first into
the rope. They take turns on the floor and inviting the other to fight,
though Lorcan is smart enough to dodge an elbow drop. Daivari is fine
enough to get a neckbreaker out of the corner but the elbow is banged up
    again.

A hard clothesline gets the same and another one cuts off Lorcan’s chops.
An Iconoclasm of all things connects for two but Daivari’s frog splash misses. One heck of a running uppercut drops Daivari and the running Blockbuster gets two. The half and half is countered into a superkick but Lorcan is right back with a DDT on the arm. A missed charge lets Daivari
get the Million Dollar Dream and Lorcan is down. Now the frog splash can connect but it hurts the arm again. The delay lets Lorcan grab a crucifix
    for the pin at 15:38.

Result: Oney Lorcan b. Ariya Daivari Crucifix (15:38)

    The challengers are piling up:

(WATCH): Steve Austins Theme Song Fuels A Real Life Fight At NHL Game

    Posted: 08 Jun 2019 10:07 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/watch-steve-austins-theme-song-fuels-real-life-fight-nhl-game/

There’s something about that music. Certain wrestling theme songs are
iconic and always will be. There are some songs that could not fit anyone
else and they tell you exactly what you need to know about that person.
It’s why some people almost never change their music no matter what, or at the very least have something very similar. One iconic song was played
earlier this week and it inspired some people.

On Thursday night during Game 6 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals, a fight
broke out in the stands between some Boston Bruins fans. The fight started
off between two people and spread even further, eventually including
multiple people. After the fight started, Steve Austin’s theme song began playing in the arena and can be clearly heard in the background of the
video of the fight, which can be seen below.

The timing isn’t quite perfect, but it still works. Check out the fight
    with some good musical accompaniment:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: Some songs are perfect for things like this and that’s exactly
what happened here. Austin’s music, especially with the glass shatter at
the beginning, is a great way to energize everyone at once and that might
have had something to do with this situation. That or it was due to a
bunch of people who had probably had a lot to drink that night and took
things too far. Either way, the song is rather appropriate and it’s cool
to hear it in something like this.

What is your favorite wrestling song? Was this a good fight? Let us know
    in the comments below.

Does He Know It Too? Undertaker Likes A Post Calling For His Retirement.

    Posted: 08 Jun 2019 10:01 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/know-undertaker-likes-post-calling-retirement/

Even the Dead Man isn’t happy. Things are not going very well in WWE at
the moment, with all kinds of things going wrong up and down the card.
Some of these things are worse than others, but the reaction to Super
ShowDown has been one of the more universally negative things from WWE of
late. A big part of it was the main event of Undertaker vs. Goldberg, and someone surprising is in agreement.

According to Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, Undertaker liked a fan’s Instagram post on Friday night that talked about how WWE needed to let him retire in peace. The fans went on to talk about how horrible the Goldberg match was and that the two of them both needed to get out of the ring.
There is a chance that Undertaker accidentally liked the post, which is something that Triple H did in a similar situation in May.

This was one of the few good parts. Check out Undertaker vs. Goldberg from Super ShowDown:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: Goldberg was knocked silly during the match, but that doesn’t mean that the fan is wrong. How easy would it have been for the two of them to
have gotten hurt even worse under these circumstances? Or even if
everything had been fine? There comes a point where this isn’t working anymore and Undertaker seems to have passed that point. I understand the
money part, but eventually it’s going to go badly and that’s not worth it.

What did you think of the match? Should Undertaker retire? Let us know in
    the comments below.

So Much For That? Lars Sullivans Push Might Already Be Over.

    Posted: 08 Jun 2019 09:00 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/much-lars-sullivans-push-might-already/

It might be over before it starts. With Super ShowDown in the books, one
of the more questionable results was the way Lars Sullivan defeated the
Lucha House Party. Sullivan won the match in his debut, but he did so via disqualification when the team attacked him at the same time. This was
rather confusing given the status Sullivan seemed to have, but things may
    have changed.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Sullivan’s push may
be in trouble in WWE. The problem stems from Sullivan’s issues over the
last few weeks with his comments online from before he joined WWE.
Sullivan was fined and punished for the statements and the entire ordeal
may have calmed down the idea of giving him such a huge push. There is no
word on what is next for Sullivan going forward.

Sullivan did get to do something on Friday. Check out some of his offense against the trio:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise in the world but it’s something that is rather disappointing. Sullivan showed the potential to be a big
star but now it seems that things have already fallen apart for him. That being said, given all of the comments that he made before coming to WWE,
there is only so much that you can expect WWE to do with him. Those
comments would have gotten a lot of people fired outright so WWE even
giving him a chance is better than some would have received.

Is Sullivan already done in WWE? What is next for him? Let us know in the comments below.

Come On Down. Heres Who Might Be Aleister Blacks First Feud.

    Posted: 08 Jun 2019 08:58 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/come-heres-might-aleister-blacks-first-feud/

There’s a list. One of the more interesting stories over the last few
weeks on SmackDown Live has been Aleister Black, who has not wrestled on television since the Superstar Shakeup. Since then, Black has been sitting
in a dark room and telling someone to come fight him. That means a lot of waiting, but WWE might be signaling that the time for waiting is almost
    over.

WWE has posted a new tweet, asking who might be answering Black’s
challenge. The tweet includes a picture of Black with Randy Orton,
Shinsuke Nakamura, Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, Lars Sullivan and Buddy Murphy behind him. While not specified, there is a strong chance that someone
could be answering the challenge soon. There is also the chance that
someone else could answer the challenge and start a feud with Black.

    Who should answer @WWEAleisters challenge?
    Hes waiting pic.twitter.com/cAgKezQmDF

    - WWE (@WWE) June 8, 2019

Black isn’t willing to wait much longer. Check out his anger seeping through:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: That’s a nice list, though some of the options are a lot better
than others. That being said, I don’t know how smart it is to literally
have Black sitting around rather than getting in the ring in front of
people. Couldn’t he be knocking jobbers silly instead of just sitting
around until a bigger name is ready for him? It’s not the worst thing in
the world but it’s also not very interesting. Hopefully things get better
    in a hurry.

Who do you want to take Black’s challenge? Who will it be? Let us know in the comments below.
