Wagner Family Set To Face Park Family In MLW

    Posted: 06 Jun 2019 11:17 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/wagner-family-set-to-face-park-family-in-mlw/

    MLW made the following announcement:

Los Parks vs. Dr. Wagner Jr & El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. signed for July 6 return to Chicago

Tag team bout to be one of two main events

One of lucha libre’s greatest rivalries will be reignited this summer as LA Park and Dr. Wagner Jr. clash in Chicago with a new generation of
luchadores representing both families answering the call of duty.

MLW today announced LA Park & El Hijo de LA Park (presented by Salina de la Renta) vs. Dr. Wagner Jr. & El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jrfor MLW: Kings of Colosseum at Cicero Stadium in Chicago. The event is a TV taping for beIN SPORTS on Saturday night July 6th with a 7 p.m. bell time.

Tickets start at $10 at http://www.MLWTickets.com.

Brokered by Latin America’s emerging top promoter and powerbroker Salina de la Renta and Promociones Dorado, this tag team match will be part of a
double main event spectacular at Chicago’s Cicero Stadium.

LA Park and Dr. Wagner are bitter enemies for over 2 decades.  During that time, blood, sweat, championships and pride have all been on the line as
the top ranked luchadores battled throughout Mexico as a nation watched on.

Now, the two enlist their sons in a multigenerational match in Major League Wrestling.

The country of Mexico has been abuzz since the announcement that Dr. Wagner
and El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. would compete for the first-time ever in an
MLW ring July 6 in Chicago. Major media including Mexico’s national paper Récord covered the big story earlier this week along with other outlets.

Having competed in MLW dating back to the inaugural show in 2002, LA Park reemerged in the league in 2018 after being summoned by Salina de la Renta
    in her war against Konnan.

At the 2019 Battle Riot in New York City LA Park won the 40-wrestler extravaganza to win a world title shot anytime, anywhere.  Now more
dangerous than ever before, LA Park’s ominous presence hangs over the
league with the Empresaria Salina de la Renta threatening to cash in the
golden ticket to a title shot whenever the opportunity presents itself.

An international wrestler of excellence, Dr. Wagner Jr. has competed around
the world including extensively touring for New Japan Pro Wrestling,
winning championships on several continents and being the face of the video game, AAA: Héroes del Ring.

A perennial champion in all major Mexican organizations is one of the most celebrated luchadores in the world.

A decorated legend known for his iconic mask, Dr. Wagner Jr. has both
competed as a tecnico and rudo with legendary rivalries with: LA Park,
    Canek and Atlantis.

Losing his mask in 2017, Dr. Wagner Jr.’s legend only grew with the
luchador being referred to at times as “King Wagner” (Rey Wagner in Spanish).

Now along with his son, Dr. Wagner enters Major League Wrestling to write a
new chapter but first he alongside his son must confront the destroyer LA
Park El Hijo de LA Park LIVE July 6 at Cicero Stadium (buy tickets).

Media and all other inquiries: chicago@mlw.com.

Tickets are moving fast for MLWs return July 6 Chicao card. Buy General Admission tickets starting at $10 at MLWTickets.com.

Signed thus far for MLW KINGS OF COLOSSEUM in Chicago:

    ¡LUCHA LIBRE!

Los Parks (presented by Salina de la Renta) vs. Dr. Wagner Jr. & El Hijo de Wagner Jr.

    Also scheduled to appear:

More matches and wrestlers will be announced at MLW.com.

Tickets start at $10 at MLWtickets.com.  Tickets will also be available day of show at the box office unless the event sales out in advance.

Juice Robinson Angrily Rants Against U.S. Fans & Media After Loss To Jon
    Moxley

    Posted: 06 Jun 2019 10:54 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/juice-robinson-angrily-rants-against-u-s-fans-media-after-loss-to-jon-moxley/

The world saw a whole new side of Juice Robinson this Wednesday, when the normally carefree New Japan Pro-Wrestling star showed up to Ryogoku Sumo
Hall with a startling new look and a matching attitude.

In preparation for arguably the most difficult match of his entire career, Robinson actually cut off his signature dreadlocks, and showed not a single ounce of that goofy-but lovable charm as he came face-to-face with the
    newly unchained Jon Moxley.

Unfortunately for Juice, all the newfound aggression in the world wasnt
enough to keep Moxley from leaving him a bloody and beaten mess, and more importantly, walking away with his beloved IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship.

After the match, a defeated and obviously frustrated former champion was interviewed backstage and held nothing back in a scathing indictment
against the U.S. fans and media who wrote him off as soon as the match
against Moxley was announced after AEW Double or Nothing.

You crowned him two weeks ago, and you were all right. Thanks for believing
in me. Thanks for hoping for me. He beat the sh** out of me. He fu**ing bit
me, and he demoralized me, and he walked in and took the only thing in the fu**ing world that means anything to me. Do you understand that?

I tried. I went out there with my heart and my nuts, and I fought my ass
off. That guy is a badass. One of the biggest badasses that Ive ever met in
my life. Hes different than he was 8 years ago. He took over the world in another company, and he quit because he was pissed off. He came here and he made an example out of me.

The one thing he did do tonight, was he got rid of CJ Parker. There aint
one ounce of CJ Parker in this body right here. He is dead. I will get back
to where Im supposed to be, and you guys are gonna have a great time
watching it. Go to hell. These Japanese people love me, and I love them.
You get on your keyboards, and you can say whatever you want about me.

I want you to know that all you on on your keyboards over across the
Pacific ocean, hanging tight in the red, white and blue when I had that
belt over my shoulder, I dont think America. I dont think USA. The only
four letters that I give a damn about are IWGP, and I hope you all take
    that personally.

Will Ospreay Announces Full-Time Move To Japan; "Somebody Needs To Step Up"

    Posted: 06 Jun 2019 07:47 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/will-ospreay-announces-full-time-move-to-japan-somebody-needs-to-step-up/

On Wednesday after winning his second NJPW Best of the Super Juniors tournament, the Aerial Assassin Will Ospreay informed fans that he would be relocating full-time to live in Japan, in order to better focus all of his
time and energy on being a top star in New Japan.

Backstage after his incredible Super Juniors Finals match with Shingo
Takagi, the UK star shed more light on why he is leaving his homeland.
Ospreay stated that somebody needs to step up in the wake of the promotion losing several top talents this year, including the majority of The Elite
to AEW, and both Ricochet and Kushida to WWE.

I just know in my heart that Im not needed there anymore. Im not needed in England. Here, Im needed. We lost Kenny. We lost Cody. Weve lost the Young Bucks. We lost Ricochet, and we lost Kushida. Somebody needs to step up,
and Im ready to do it. But, for me to do it I need to be here. I love this place, and I love professional wrestling. I know I can do this. I can take
it on my back, and I will take it all around the world.

Big E Claims "I Couldnt Get Fired If I Tried" After Twitter Exchange w/
    Porn Star

    Posted: 06 Jun 2019 06:40 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/big-e-claims-he-couldnt-get-fired-from-wwe-if-he-tried/

Big E may not be currently cleared to compete, but luckily for all of us
the New Day star is equally entertaining sitting at home, having hilarious interactions on Twitter. But is it possible for him to go too far?

After a recent exchange with porn star Tanya Tate, who labeled the WWE star
as the undisputed Twitter champ, a fan stated that they were scared for his career due to his string of online ridiculously. The fan actually used the words secure a position at AEW first, referring to Big E trying to get
    himself fired from the company.

The five-time WWE tag team champion responded, invoking the classic episode
of Seinfeld called The Millennium, where George Costanza intentionally
tried to get fired by dragging the World Series trophy across a parking lot
via a rope attached to his car. Big E then stated, I couldnt get fired if I tried.

Like that episode of Seinfeld where George purposefully gets stains on Babe Ruth’s jersey and drags a World Series trophy through the parking lot, I couldn’t get fired if I tried.

    Posted: 06 Jun 2019 06:20 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/jon-moxley-to-compete-in-singles-match-at-6-9-njpw-dominion-event/

As reported earlier this morning, New Japan Pro-Wrestling has announced the final match card for this Sundays huge Dominion event at Osaka-Jo Hall,

Lance Storm Offers a Unique Take on the Historic Connection Between AEW,
    WCW and Chris Jericho

    Posted: 05 Jun 2019 08:00 PM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/lance-storm-offers-a-unique-take-on-the-historic-connection-between-aew-wcw-and-chris-jericho/

Lance Storm has offered an extremely unique take on the historic connection between AEW, WCW and Chris Jericho. Storm opined on these topics during the June 5 episode of Figure 4 Daily, where he mentioned that Turner
Broadcasting is the link between all three elements.

Turner will present AEW on the TNT Network this fall of course. But Turner previously owned and presented WCW, which folded in 2001. Fans obviously
know this, but they may not have realized the Jericho connection until
Storm discussed it on the show.

Chris Jericho was the man that almagamated the WCW Turner Broadcasting Companys World title in to Vince. Im assuming and we will know soon enough, that when a new wrestling competition company for WWE starts on Turner Broadcasting, their first World champion, 18 years later, is going to be
Chris Jericho. You could almost claim, if you wanted tofrom a Turner Broadcasting standpointtitle continuity. Jericho to Jericho.

Storm conceded that Booker T was the last World champion on Turner, but
that when WCWs title unified with the WWE title, Jericho was the man to win
    it.

Fans may not have thought about the AEW World Championship along these
lines, but Jericho will compete for the new title against Hangman Page at
All Out on August 31. Its obvious that Chris is a top guy in the company
and he may very well be the top guy. So if he wins the championship, it
will surely not be a shock. Whether or not AEW will ever mention the
connection between their World title and the WCW title, is unknown.

Nick Aldis and Colt Cabana vs. The Briscoes Set for Ring of Honor Best in
    the World

NWA World Heavyweight champion Nick Aldis and NWA National champion Colt
Cabana will face The Brisoces at Ring of Honors Best in the World event on Friday, June 28. NWAs Twitter account announced the match on June 5.

This bout comes after the events of ROHs War of the Worlds Tour in May.
Cabana defended his National Championship against James Storm, which ended
in a time limit draw. Colt was then attacked by Jay and Mark Briscoe, who
are hellbent on getting revenge on the NWA.

That revenge is due to The Briscoes coming up short in their bid to win the Crockett Cup. This ultimately led to their ensuing war on the NWA. The
brothers called out Aldis after they attacked Cabana and the NWA World
champ answered the call. But he was outnumbered and left for dead in the
    middle of the ring.

Now both teams will face off at Best in the World, which also features Ring
of Honor World champion Matt Taven defending against the undefeated Jeff
    Cobb.

    NXT RESULTS

    BRIDGEPORT, CT JUNE 5

NXT is back after another stellar TakeOver event! TakeOver XXV saw The Velveteen Dream and Tyler Breeze put on a clinic, Matt Riddle and Roderick Strong fought their hearts out and Adam Cole won the NXT Championship in an instant classic from Johnny Gargano!

    KEITH LEE VS. KONA REEVES

This match began at a slow pace, with both men feeling each other out from
the opening bell. The crowd was fully behind Lee, who took the advantage
early on. Reeves faked a knee injury however, which gave him the upper hand
on Lee. But Lee made his comeback and hit the Limit-Breaker for the pin.

    WINNER: KEITH LEE

    to start. #WWENXT #BaskInHisGlory pic.twitter.com/cfiKbjhXls

A video rundown of the TakeOver XXV match between Shayna Baszler and Io
Shirai was shown next, followed by a backstage interview with Shirai, who
had no time to talk. A tag team match featuring Shirai and Candice LeRae
versus Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir was announced for next weeks NXT.

A video package featuring the Tag Team Ladder Match between Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch vs. The Undisputed Era vs. The Street Profits from TakeOver XXV
was shown next. It was followed by a backstage celebration with The Street Profits, who were enjoying their tag team title win.

Tyler Breezes TakeOver XXV match with Velveteen Dream was spotlighted next. Breezes interview from that night was shown afterward and Tyler said hes officially back in NXT.

    MIA YIM VS. BIANCA BELAIR

This main event was the rubber match for Belair and Yim. The two women
started off quickly, trading offense back and forth until Belair took
control of the match. Belair worked over Yims lower back while Mia kept
trying to gain some sort of advantage.

Yim finally got that advantage, when she sent Belair face-first into the
steel steps. A double count-out nearly happened, but Yim threw Bianca back
into the ring, where she stayed on the offensive. Yim hooked Belair in the Tarantula, then hit the Code Blue, but Bianca kicked out at two.

Belair regained control of the match, nailing Yim with a scary midsection suplex, which sent Yim upside down, nearly slamming her head into the mat.
Mia was glassy-eyed after that move but she was back on her feet. Belair
went for the power-bomb, but Yim countered with a Guillotine choke, which
led to another brief breakdown in the match. Yim hit her patented Protect
Ya Neck finish from the second rope on Belair, giving her the victory.

    WINNER: MIA YIM

    What a huge win for @MiaYim! #WWENXT pic.twitter.com/1MJWa54hKx

Another flashback was shown, this time from last weeks NXT. The video
featured Drew Gulaks loss to Kushida and Gulak spoke about his loss
afterward. Drew challenged Kushida to a Submission Match and that match
will take place next week on NXT.

Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch vs. Kyle OReilly and Roderick Strong was also
    also announced for next week.

The final video rundown of the night belonged to the TakeOver XXV main
event between Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole for the NXT Championship.
