    Twitter.

He’s got kids and they’ve got a favorite singer. It may not seem like it, but we are coming up on ten years of Heath Slater on the main roster.
While he has never been a top singles star, Slater has carved out a nice
little niche for himself as the comedy goof who is doing everything he does
for his indeterminate number of children. Some of those children joined
him in a Twitter video involving a legendary singer, who responded.

Slater has recently posted a video to Twitter showing him singing with his daughter. The Tweet went out to Mariah Carey, suggesting that the two of
them do a duet together. Carey responded and said that she and her kids
were singing along. As you might have guessed, there is no word on Carey making any kind of an appearance with WWE. Slater’s most recent televised match was on the July 11 episode of Main Event.

Slater and his daughter are rather adorable. Check out their song and Carey’s response:

Awwwww ? me and demkids singing along right now! https://t.co/IQBZ8ixbhb

    - Mariah Carey (@MariahCarey) August 17, 2019

Opinion: This is just cute on a variety of levels with Slater sending out a Tweet that he probably thought would never be noticed. Carey responding
was a cool moment as well and there is a good chance that Slater and his daughter were surprised that she did. Slater has gone from a joke to a
popular enough guy to keep around because the fans know who he is and like
him fairly well. That’s a nice place to be in and Slater will probably be around for a good while.

How has Slater fared in WWE? Will he ever get a big story again? Let us
    know in the comments below.

Come On Up. Two NXT Stars Announced For WWE TV Next Week.

    Posted: 18 Aug 2019 09:51 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/come-two-nxt-stars-announced-wwe-tv-next-week/

Welcome to your future home. There are a lot of wrestlers in WWE and that means there are a lot of moving parts to the company’s television shows. Wrestlers move up and down from one roster to the other at various times
and that can cause some confusion. Occasionally the moves are permanent
but WWE also does a lot of cameos, which seems to be the case for the
    upcoming week.

As announced on WWE.com, this week’s 205 Live will feature a ten man tag
team match with Drew Gulak and Oney Lorcan selecting four partners each for
the match. The picks have all been announced, with Gulak picking NXT’s
Angel Garza and Lorcan selecting Isaiah Swerve Scott. These two names are
both members of the NXT roster, though Scott has appeared on 205 Live
before. There is no word on if these moves are permanent or one off appearances.

We’ve seen Scott on the show before. Check out his rather good match with Gulak from last month:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: This match has some serious potential with Scott being a hidden
gem down in NXT. He’s only wrestled down there once and he has already
made quite the impression. Hopefully he can get on television sooner than later on one show or another as he has the talent to make an impact. Garza does as well and has already been showcased a bit more than Garza. If
nothing else, 205 Live needs some fresh blood and these two could be just
    that.

Which of the two has more potential? Who will be the next call up? Let us know in the comments below.

Another One? WWE Has A New, Somewhat Ridiculous Policy Regarding Its Wrestlers.

    Posted: 18 Aug 2019 09:48 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/another-one-wwe-new-somewhat-ridiculous-policy-regarding-wrestlers/

Getting off on the right foot. Wrestling is the most unique sporting event
and form of entertainment in the world. Where else do you get the
combination of athleticism, acting and storytelling at the same time?
Wrestlers have to remember what they have been doing as of late and
incorporate that into each match. That is how it is supposed to go at
least, but WWE seems to have another idea.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is now telling wrestlers to not
sell any injuries during their entrances. No matter what has happened in
any previous matches, wrestlers are to perform their entrances as usual.
There is no word on when this policy was enacted, though Seth Rollins sold
his rib injury during his entrance at Summerslam. It is not clear why the policy was put into place.

This isn’t something they should sell? Check out Rollins’ beatdown at the hand of Brock Lesnar:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: This comes off as something WWE is doing for the sake of putting smiles on the fans’ faces, no matter how little sense that it might make. Injuries can be a nice way to advance the story of a match and if the
wrestlers aren’t selling them on the way to the ring, it is going to make
for some rather odd moments when they start selling them after the bell
rings. This doesn’t seem like the most logical move in the world, which is probably why it is taking place.

Do you agree with this policy? What should WWE do to sell injuries? Let
us know in the comments below.

(WATCH): All Together Now. Firefly Fun House Compilation Released.

    Posted: 18 Aug 2019 09:45 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/watch-together-now-firefly-fun-house-compilation-released/

All in one place. There are very few characters who have captured the wrestling world’s imagination like Bray Wyatt with his Firefly Fun House.
The new character is one of the most unique in wrestling with Wyatt having
a dual personality, with Wyatt being a child friendly (or at least mostly friendly) character while his evil side is maintained in the Fiend. The vignettes have been incredible and now WWE wants you to see them again.

Smile when you say that. Check out the Firefly Fun House videos in one
    place:
[This post contains video, click to play]

WWE has released a compilation of every Firefly Fun House video to date,
with the segments dating back to April. Most weeks saw a new video, which showed a variety of aspects of Wyatt’s new personality. The videos have
some different themes as well, with Wyatt showing a music video, showcasing
the Fiend, and torturing stuff animals. There is no word on how often new editions of the videos will be released.

Opinion: These things have become fascinating and a great showcase of what
can happen in WWE when the wrestlers are allowed to have some input. The wrestlers have some ideas of their own and it’s cool to see them get to showcase themselves a little bit. Wyatt clearly knows what he wants from
the character and it can make for some successful moments when they are
allowed to see what is inside their heads.

Have you liked the vignettes so far? Who else could pull off a character
like this? Let us know in the comments below.

Uh Oh. FOX Reportedly Not Happy With WWE Over NXT Move.

    Posted: 18 Aug 2019 09:42 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/uh-oh-fox-reportedly-not-happy-wwe-nxt-move/

That’s a bad way to start a relationship. We’re about six weeks away from SmackDown Live’s debut on FOX, which will mark a new era in WWE. The deal
is worth over a billion dollars to WWE and that means they are going to
want to keep their new bankers happy. However, one of the biggest stories
of the year might not be doing that as FOX likely isn’t pleased with a WWE development.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, FOX is likely not
happy with WWE for putting NXT on USA instead of Fox Sports 1. Fox Sports
1 had been rumored as the show’s new home but USA seems all but ready to
take the show. This presents a problem for Fox Sports 1 as they were
hoping to have WWE fill in a lot of the gaps left open by the departure of
UFC. There is no word on what this could mean for the relationship between
    the two companies.

This is what they’re missing out on. Check out a fun tag match from this week’s NXT:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: This is one of those things that might not look good for FOX but
it makes sense for WWE. They’re trying to fight off AEW and it makes a lot more sense to go with a bigger network like USA than Fox Sports 1. As long
as WWE does well on FOX, I’m sure the relationship will be just fine.
Other than that though, it might be bad mark on their relationship, which
    is still pretty new.

Do you like the idea of NXT on USA? Where should it have gone? Let us
    know in the comments below.

So Long, Farewell. Impact Tag Team Wrestles Its Final Match With The Company

    Posted: 18 Aug 2019 06:21 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/derekstoughton/long-farewell-impact-tag-team-wrestles-final-match-company/

Sometimes, its time to move on. Professional wrestling stars come and go,
and leaving a company is nothing new. Such is the case for one tag team,
who are now former members of the Impact Roster.

Santana and Ortiz, better known as LAX, have wrestled their final match
with the promotion, which was announced via a tweet earlier today. They had
the following to say regarding the news:
Last night we wrestled our final match with Impact Wrestling. Our
appreciation and gratitude for every single person there who had a hand in helping us get to this point, is absolutely endless. Thank you for the opportunity to show the world our passion and commitment for this business.
And most of all, for the opportunity to represent our people and culture on
a big stage. We are forever grateful.

Check out a return of theirs from 2017:

[This post contains video, click to play]

It had been previously rumored that both WWE and AEW were interested in the duo.

According to a report from Wrestling Inc., their final match was against
Rich Swann and Willie Mack during a TV taping in Mexico. After the match, members of the Impact locker room came out to the ring to say goodbye to
    them.

    Editors Opinion:

I hope that they end up in NXT. LAX has always been one of my favorite
teams in Impact, as I think that they have a unique perspective and ring
style. Either way, their futures are very bright, and it will be exciting
to see where they end up down the road!
