Flip Gordon Wishes NWA Good Luck

    Posted: 30 Jul 2019 12:36 PM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/flip-gordon-wishes-nwa-good-luck/

Flip Gordon was recently on Wrestling INCs WINCLY podcast recently, where
he discussed the changes to the Ring of Honor locker room, since the
departures of The Elite, as well as the NWA ending their partnership with
    the Sinclair-owned wrestling company.

Transcriptions via Ross Kelly at Wrestling INC.

Its changed a lot but not in a bad way. Everybodys motivated and excited because a bunch of top spots just opened up and are for grabs. Everybody is competing for them. Its friendly competition but everybody wants that top
spot, me included. So its a really good atmosphere because everybodys
    busting their ass right now,

Gordon also had nothing but well wishes for the NWA. The historic promotion ended their partnership with Ring of Honor, pulling NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis from Summer Supercard in Toronto. Flip sees this as
proof that the wrestling business is doing well.

I was a bit surprised but with wrestling being so popular now, Im not surprised. Business is thriving right now so if the NWA wants to go out on their own, I wish them the best of luck

Roman Reigns: "Ive Been Bitten By The Acting Bug"

    Posted: 30 Jul 2019 12:00 PM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/roman-reigns-ive-been-bitten-by-the-acting-bug/

Roman Reigns recently stopped by ComplexCon in Chicago, IL, where he spoke
with Complex about his turn in Universal Pictures Hobbes & Shaw. Reigns
starred alongside his cousin Dwayne The Rock Johnson &  Jason Statham in
    the Fast & Furious spin-off.

During the interview, Reigns talked about the difference between acting on film, and cutting a promo in a WWE ring.

But when youre in a live environment where people can react and do anything that they want, they can throw you off your game, say things like you suck,
and then you think oh god I do suck! What do I say now? I forgot.'

Reigns also spoke about the demanding nature of weekly WWE programming, and
how the physicality of a match effects ones ability to cut a promo
    afterwards.

You already know, if you get into a fight, youre going to blow up. Check
out the Internet, right now. Two men right now are dying. Theyre breathing hard. We wrestle for 15, 20, 30 minutes, and then you still have to talk
and be presentable at that point. It comes with a lot of practice and conditioning to be able to get to that point and a bit of grooming as well.

Finally Reigns mentioned thats hes been bitten by the acting bug.

Ill say Ive been bitten by the acting bug, but I think with what just
happened to me this past year with my health and being pulled away from the ring, Im always going to have that love. That process that I just explained about being live and as raw as possible. If something happens, you can
shake and bake and make it what you need it to be. Theres something about having that ad-lib and free range that, when it comes down to it, its live. Aint nobody stopping you now.

Backstage News On Finn Balor Being Pulled From WWE Smackville

    Posted: 30 Jul 2019 05:46 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/backstage-news-on-finn-balor-being-pulled-from-wwe-smackville/

A report from Fightful.com has revealed further details regarding Finn
Balor and the decision to pull him from WWE Smackville.

Balor was scheduled to compete against Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Championship at the event, but he was eventually replaced
by Ali after being sidelined with stomach flu.

According to Fightful.coms report, Balor was actually at WWE Smackville backstage, with many people being informed for the first time that he had
been battling a flu and had been hospitalized as he arrived.

Because of that, WWE opted to pull Balor and use the healthier option of
Ali, who WWE had already teased as a challenger for the title previously.
WWE officials realized Balor had left when they decided to film a segment
where Nakamura took him out, writing him out of the match.

However, the report states that Balor did not know about those plans and
there was no malice on his part.

Finn Balor is still scheduled to go one on one with Bray Wyatt at WWE SummerSlam.

Stone Cold Steve Austin Discusses Kevin Owens Using His Finisher

    Posted: 30 Jul 2019 04:48 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/stone-cold-steve-austin-discusses-kevin-owens-using-his-finisher/

WWE Hall Of Famer, Stone Cold Steve Austin recently spoke with Sports Illustrated where he discussed Kevin Owens using his finisher.

On him giving KO his blessing to use the Stunner:

My finish was being used by someone else before I really made it famous, or trademarked it, so to speak, said Austin. So I told him, go ahead and use
the Stone Cold Stunner. I met him a long time ago at an airport and gave
him some advice about cutting a promo. I like Kevin Owens, I think he does
an amazing job with his promos and in the ring.

As well as that he talked about when people would compare Becky Lynch to himself:

Its just like when people wanted to compare me to Becky Lynch, Austin said.
We have similar attitudes, but shes done things so differently than I have. Shes running her own race, she has her own career, and shes doing a
phenomenal job. People are comparing her to me because shes got that
abrasive attitude like I did, but thats what we are supposed to have in pro wrestling. You know, I always hated when people called the Attitude Era the Attitude Era because I always thought professional wrestlers had attitude
to begin with. So just let Kevin be Kevin, put him in good situations and
dont put the brakes on him. If youre going to run with this guy, then let
him be the biggest, baddest, best Kevin Owens he can be.
