RUMOR: Theyre Big Enough. First Name Speculate For 2020 Hall Of Fame Class.

    Posted: 27 Jul 2019 10:00 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/rumor-theyre-big-enough-first-name-speculate-2020-hall-fame-class/

They’re taking over? The WWE Hall of Fame isn’t a place that is going to get a lot of unanimous inductees. While it is considered an honor for some people, it has some entries that are going to leave some people scratching their heads. On the other hand though, there are entries that would get
just about anyone’s stamp of approval. That might be the case with a
    rumored name.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com was asked about who could be a headliner for
the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2020. Johnson said that the New World Order would make sense as the event is in Tampa, Florida, which is near Hulk Hogan’s home. It should be noted that there are no rumored names at this point and this is Johnson speculating rather than saying anything
    definitive.

I mean, this doesn’t need an explanation right? Check out the formation of the NWO:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: It makes perfect sense. The group was one of the most important
in the history of wrestling and it would be a logical move to put them in. Couple that with D-Generation X going in last year and it wouldn’t surprise me to see the NWO go in. If nothing else it could make several names two
time Hall of Famers, depending on which version of the team gets in. I’m certainly looking forward to Michael Wallstreet: Hall of Famer.

Will the NWO be inducted? Which lineup should it be? Let us know in the comments below.

She Knows What She Wants. Bayley Challenges Returning Legend To Title
    Match.

    Posted: 27 Jul 2019 09:57 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/knows-wants-bayley-challenges-returning-legend-title-match/

Target acquired. Since her debut on the main roster, Bayley has had quite
the up and down right. She came in as one of the biggest stars in the
history of NXT but it took a few years for everything to really start
clicking. In recent months she became the SmackDown Women’s Champion and
has held the title fairly well. She still needs the big win though and now
    she might have an idea.

WWE recently announced that Trish Stratus will be appearing on next week’s SmackDown Live as a guest on Jerry Lawler’s King’s Court. In a response on Twitter, Bayley offered Stratus a shot at the SmackDown Women’s Title.
While nothing has been announced, there is a chance that Stratus will be
facing Charlotte in a dream match at Summerslam in Stratus’ hometown of Toronto.

Trish, would you like to have a SD women’s championship match with me?

    - Bayley (@itsBayleyWWE) July 27, 2019

Stratus has been back before and had some big moments. Check out a
    showdown for the ages:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: I’ll give Bayley some points for throwing it out there. It looks like Stratus already has a match in mind but throwing her name out there is
a good idea for Bayley. A win over Stratus, even after she has long since retired, would still feel important because Stratus is likely the most
famous women’s wrestler of the modern era. Odds are Charlotte gets the match, but there’s no harm in asking.

Would you rather see Stratus face Bayley or Charlotte? Who will she face?

It Could Be A Long Break. Heres When Ruby Riott Could Be Back In The Ring.

    Posted: 27 Jul 2019 09:55 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/long-break-heres-ruby-riott-back-ring/

That’s a long time. You never know when a wrestler’s career is going to change in the blink of an eye. At any given time, a wrestler can get
injured and be left on the injured list for a very long time. There is
almost no way to present something like this, which can happen to anyone
out of nowhere. That was the case earlier this year and it turns out the injury could be a bad one.

According to Fightful Select by way of Sportskeeda.com, Ruby Riott is not likely to be back in the ring for the rest of the year following shoulder surgery. She is rumored to be returning to the ring in early 2020, which
could put her back in the ring for the Royal Rumble. Riott underwent the surgery just after this year’s Superstar Shakeup with her most recent match taking place during a house show on May 17.

Riott has already gone under the knife. Check out an update on her right
    after the operation:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: I’ve been a Riott fan for a long time now and I’m hoping she is back sooner rather than later. Riott has a unique look and can work well
both on a microphone and in the ring, which means she could be rather
useful in either women’s division. Hopefully the recovery time is not as long, as she more than deserves a chance to be at the top of the card. Now
if only WWE can get that part.

What do you think of Riott? What should she do when she gets back? Let us know in the comments below.

Ring Of Honor TV Results - July 24, 2019

    Posted: 27 Jul 2019 09:20 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/ring-honor-tv-results-july-24-2019/

    Ring of Honor

    Date: July 24, 2019

    Location: 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Colt Cabana, Caprice Coleman

We continue with the post Best in the World fallout this week and that means….well it could mean a lot of things actually as this place doesn’t exactly have the easiest schedule to follow. We could be in for a variety
of things around here and as usual, that can be quite the mixed bag. Let’s get to it.

    Opening sequence.
Dalton Castle vs. Jonathan Gresham vs. Jeff Cobb vs. Kenny King

One fall to a finish. Everyone is in the ring and the bell rings less than
five seconds after we start in the arena. King lets Castle have Cobb, who blocks a waistlock without much effort. Back up and Cobb hits a heck of a dropkick before it’s off to King vs. Gresham. They slug it out until King kicks the leg and sweeps it away, setting up a knee to the head for two.
Castle comes back in to work over Gresham in the corner as this is feeling
    like a tag match.

Gresham gets caught on the mat and it’s King coming back in for a
springboard clothesline. Even commentary talks about this basically being a
tag match early on. We take a break and come back with very little fanfare
as King carries Gresham back into the corner for a tag to Castle. An AA
into a splash gives Castle two with King not even inching over for a save.

The Bang a Rang is broken up and Gresham grabs two off a rollup. King comes back in and mocks Cobb, allowing Castle to pull Cobb to the floor. Castle
tags himself back in but King does the same as the argument is on. Gresham
is smart enough to quietly sneak over for the tag to Cobb so house can be cleaned.

Running elbows in the corner have Castle and King in trouble until Castle
hits the reverse Sling Blade. King hits a Blockbuster for two on Gresham
but Cobb is back up with a Jackhammer for the same. With the wrestling not working, King brings in a woman’s shoe. Gresham takes it away though and knocks King silly, setting up a rollup with tights to give Gresham the pin
    at 13:00.

Result: Jonathan Gresham b. Kenny King, Jeff Cobb and Dalton Castle Rollup with tights to King (13:00)

The Shinobi Shadow Squad wants the Six Man Tag Team Titles.

Video on Sumie Sakai, who is back soon.

Video on the Guerrillas of Destiny stealing the Tag Team Titles from the Briscoes.

We look back to last week with Maria Manic beating people up and the Kenny King/Rhett Titus segment.

Video on the Soldiers of Savagery debut and ensuing destruction.
Soldiers of Savagery vs. Primal Fear

The jobbers get punched in the face to start things off and it’s a double chokeslam to knock one silly. The other jobber gets the same for the pin at
    46 seconds.

Result: Soldiers of Savagery b. Primal Fear Double chokeslam (0:46)

Jay Lethal yells at Gresham for cheating lately. Gresham doesn’t want to
hear it and walks away but Gresham says this place is changing. He’s going
to be the best in the world however he needs to do it. Gresham just pinned King, which Lethal couldn’t do. Think about that.

We look back at Flip Gordon joining Villain Enterprises at Best in the
World. The destruction of Lifeblood followed.

Here’s Lifeblood for a chat. Mark Haskins rants about Villain Enterprises stealing Flip and him stabbing them in their backs, so get out here right
now. Cue the Villains, with Flip shaking everyone’s hand but going to the back because he’s banged up (not mentioned here, though you can see him holding his arm after the 450 at Best in the World). A challenge is tossed
out and Lifeblood wants to make it a street fight.
    Villain Enterprises vs. Lifeblood

Non-title and Villain Enterprises (PCO/Brody King/Marty Scurll) are in
trouble early on. Back with Bandido diving onto King as Haskins beats up Scurll. King gets sent into the barricade as Bandido loads up a table. Some chairs are brought in as well with PCO’s powerbomb to Williams being broken up. Haskins comes back in to try and take over but a left hand to King doesn’t do much good.

A chair shot to his back lets King hit a swinging Boss Man Slam for two but it’s Williams coming back in with the kendo stick, including wrapping King’s bad wrist around said stick. PCO makes the save and tells Williams
and Bandido to beat him up with the chairs. That’s fine with him as he runs the chairs over, leaving King to cannonball off the apron to take out
    Bandido and Williams.

The monkey flip into the second cannonball sends PCO flying onto the two of them as it’s all the Villains. Scurll puts Haskins in the Boston crab and
PCO drops the middle rope leg, followed by a backsplash onto a chair onto Haskins. Back from a break with Haskins being saved from a superplex
through a bunch of tables. That lets Bandido and Williams powerbomb King through the chairs for two in an impressive kickout. Scurll fires PCO up so
PCO goes to the top, only to get hurricanranaed to the floor and through
the table in a heck of a crash.

That leaves Haskins to Sharpshooter Scurll, with Williams adding a
Crossface with the kendo stick. King makes the save and sends both of them
to the floor for the big flip dive. Scurll backdrops PCO onto everyone but Bandido superkicks Marty outside as well. You don’t set up a luchador like that and it’s the corkscrew moonsault onto everyone and we take a break.

Back with Bandido hitting a GTS on PCO to set up the 21 Plex onto a chair
with King having to make another save. Haskins and Williams beat the heck
out of King with the kendo sticks and then smash a chair into his face with
the stick for a bonus. Scurll comes back in with the umbrella but Bandido
is up with an umbrella shot to Marty on top. Scurll snaps his fingers on
top though, only to have Bandido poke him in the eye and hit the super
flipping fall away slam through a table to finish Scurll at 19:03.

Result: Lifeblood b. Villain Enterprises Super flipping fall away slam
through a table to Scurll (19:03)

The Briscoes are ready to fight Dragon Lee and Rush next week, with some Spanish thrown in.

A video on the Briscoes vs. Rush/Lee wraps things up.

Hes A Bit Banged Up. Update On Ricochets Health Status, Could Be Out For A Bit.

    Posted: 27 Jul 2019 08:17 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/hes-bit-banged-update-ricochets-health-status-bit/

That doesn’t sound good. You never know when someone is going to go from
in great shape to suddenly not being able to wrestle. Random and surprise injuries can come up out of nowhere and bring down someone who is on fire.
That can be the case with anyone from the top of the card all the way down
to nothing and it seems to have happened to a pretty rapidly rising star.

According to Fightful Select by way of Ringsidenews.com, Ricochet is
currently listed as “To Be Determined” on the WWE injury sheet due to an elbow infection, meaning there is no word when he will be back in the
ring. Ricochet was scheduled to take part in this week’s Raw Reunion but
had to be replaced by Seth Rollins. His most recent match took place on
July 21 at a house show.

Ricochet can flip well when he’s healthy. Check out one of his big matches with AJ Styles from earlier this month:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: Ricochet is one of the most promising stars in a long time as the
fans certainly seem to like seeing him and there is a chance that he could become a top star in the blink of an eye. Hopefully the infection can be cleared up in a hurry as he needs to be in the ring and in front of the
camera as often as he can. The fans aren’t going to forget about him
anytime soon though, so getting healthy is what matters most.

What do you see next for Ricochet? Will he be US Champion again? Let us
    know in the comments below.

RUMOR: Oh Dear. Donald Trump In Talks To Appear On SmackDown Live.

    Posted: 27 Jul 2019 07:51 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/rumor-oh-dear-donald-trump-talks-appear-smackdown-live/

I’m sure this won’t get them in any kind of trouble. There are some people who are controversial and then there are some people who everyone has an opinion on. One of the biggest names ever on either of these lists happens
to be in the WWE Hall of Fame, but he also happens to currently live in the White House. And now, he might be getting ready for another WWE appearance.

According to Sportskeeda.com, WWE and Donald Trump are in talks to have
Trump appear on an upcoming episode of SmackDown Live on FOX. The three
sides are all talking, with Trump’s team wanting the event to be “bigger than Obama”, who appeared in a pre-recorded segment on Monday Night Raw in 2008. WWE would like for the segment to be contained and perhaps
pre-recorded. Trump has appeared on several episodes of Monday Night Raw before, as well as at several WrestleManias.

Trump has been around before. Check out one of his more famous appearances: [This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: This would certainly get people talking. Trump is someone who
gets attention no matter what he does and WWE would certainly like to have
some of that attention. At the same time though, there is a negative
stigma that comes with Trump and it might backfire on WWE. Either way I
can understand WWE being interested in having him appear, especially if
    Trump is interested as well.

Do you think Trump will show up? Who should he interact with? Let us know
    in the comments below.

Never Good To Hear. Finn Balor Hospitalized, Pulled From Smackville
    Special.

    Posted: 27 Jul 2019 07:31 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/never-good-hear-finn-balor-hospitalized-pulled-smackville-special/

That was rather sudden. WWE presents a lot of shows during their week and there are a lot of wrestlers that are supposed to appear on those shows. However, sometimes wrestlers cannot make their scheduled appearances for
one reason or another. In worse case scenarios, this can be due to some
kind of medical issue, which was the case on Saturday night.

Finn Balor did not appear as advertised at Saturday’s Smackville special
when he was scheduled to face Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental
Title. Nakamura faced and defeated Ali instead. According to Sean Ross
Sapp of Fightful.com, Balor was hospitalized with a stomach flu earlier in
the week. Balor is currently scheduled to face Bray Wyatt at Summerslam.

I dunno, but he had been hospitalized with a stomach flu. https://t.co/GIZyS1tkwg

    28, 2019

There was a match in its place. Check out the replacement match:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: That’s rather annoying but given that it is an illness and not something related to a bone or a muscle or something like that, there is a
good chance that this is going to be something short term. Balor is
scheduled to take a hiatus from WWE after Summerslam anyway so you might
want to get used to not having him around. Hopefully he’s fine enough
soon, which sounds like it will be the case.

Heres What WWE Officials Have Planned For Bray Wyatt After SummerSlam

After months of intrigue, Bray Wyatt debuted as The Fiend on Monday Night
Raw and attacked Finn Balor. Now, Balor vs. Wyatt is the plan for
SummerSlam. A lot of people were curious how Bray Wyatts new gimmick would
work in the ring, but the transition between Wyatts two characters is
working extremely well heading into SummerSlam.

Its been reported that Finn Balor will be taking a few months off the road following the PPV. The odds are high that Balor will be putting over Wyatt,
but there is the question of where Bray and The Fiend go after that since
he needs to keep building his characters.
Related: What Was Planned For Bray Wyatt Before Eric Bischoff And Paul
    Heyman Took Over?

According to a report from Rajah, WWE officials are planning for Balor vs. Wyatt to continue after SummerSlam and Balors hiatus. The expectation is
Finn Balor will not be bringing back The Demon for SummerSlam. Therefore,
Wyatt can win at the PPV and WWE can do The Demon vs. The Fiend later on,
    most likely at Survivor Series.

The WWE Universe has frequently complained about Bray Wyatts booking. Hes
taken a lot of big losses, which many fans believes hurts his credibility.
The Fiend character is extremely interesting, but he needs to win some big matches to keep it going strong.

Obviously, the big problem here is trying to fill two months of time for
Wyatt while Finn Balor is on vacation. WWE officials could book him into another feud or they could also do a number of weeks of Firefly Fun House.
The WWE Universe loved those segments and they brought Bray Wyatt back from
the dead. They could give him a lot more time.
What do you think of Bray Wyatts new characters and gimmick?

    Smackville Live Coverage And Results

    Posted: 27 Jul 2019 05:53 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/smackville-live-coverage-results/

    Smackville

    Date: July 27, 2019

    Location: Bridgestone Arena, Nashville, Tennessee

    Commentators: Tom Phillips, David Otunga

This is another special event with WWE presenting a show for the sake of
having some competition. The schedule says that this is going to be an hour long show but an overrun would not surprise me. There are three matches on
the card and an Elias performance for a bonus, meaning they’re going to be fairly packed. Let’s get to it.

The announcers tell us that Finn Balor is injured and therefore out of the Intercontinental Title match. This brings out Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura to say that he wins by forfeit, but the referee has to
count Balor out first. We have a challenger though.
Intercontinental Title: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Ali

Ali is challenging after saying that he isn’t missing another opportunity. Feeling out process to start until Ali kicks him in the face and out to the floor. That means a big dive to the floor and a high crossbody for two back inside. Nakamura knees him in the face and Good Vibrations have Ali in even more trouble. The hard knees to the face get two and it’s off to a front facelock.

Nakamura switches into a front facelock but Ali fights out again and hits
the rolling X Factor. Ali gets thrown off the top but still manages to
dropkick Nakamura out of the air for two more. Back up and Nakamura hits
the sliding German suplex but Kinshasa is cut off by a superkick. The big tornado DDT gives Ali two more but the 450 misses. Kinshasa retains the
    title at 8:02.

Result: Shinsuke Nakamura b. Ali Kinshasa (8:02)

Samoa Joe likes the idea of a triple threat match because he has multiple targets.

Here’s Elias for his performance and he has several guitars with him. After complaining about the volume of his microphone, Elias plays for a long
time, maybe the longest he ever has before. Elias likes that people want to walk with him but he hears no standing ovation. He talks about meeting
Johnny Cash here in Nashville, when Cash told him that the Tennessee Titans will never win the Super Bowl.

His first song is dedicated to Shane McMahon….or it would be if the people would be quiet and let him play. Elias going to and from the stool gets the BOO/YAY chants before he says he’ll sing anyway. The song is about how
Shane deserves more TV time and to be champion because he’s the best in the world. Vince McMahon calls him to say he’s watching and Elias says
Nashville is horrible. Apparently Elias can have as much time as he wants
so he sings about Kevin Owens being ugly.

Cue Owens from behind to steal a guitar and send Elias outside with one
right hand. Owens has a request: SHUT YOUR FACE. He wants a match right
now, so if a referee can please run down the aisle and slide in here
please. A referee does so (Owens: “WHAT A SLIDE!”) and we’re ready to go. Elias vs. Kevin Owens

Owens shrugs off an early beating and hits the backsplash to take over.
Elias gets in a jumping knee to the face to rock Owens and it’s an Old
School Meteora for two. A headbutt gets Owens out of a superplex attempt
and the Swanton connects for two. The Stunner is blocked and Elias hits
another knee. Elias’ top rope elbow misses and the Stunner gives Owens the pin at 4:44.

We recap the main event. Kofi Kingston won the Smackdown World Title at Wrestlemania and has survived ever since. Dolph Ziggler thinks it should
have been him and Samoa Joe likes to hurt people. Kofi has beaten them both before and now he has to beat them both at once

Kofi Kingston puts pancakes behind the title and says he wants the
challenge to put him closer to being an all time great champion. Kofi:
“Right here on Smackville. At Smackville? In Smackville?”
Smackdown World Title: Kofi Kingston vs. Samoa Joe vs. Dolph Ziggler

Kofi is defending and dropkicks Ziggler to the floor at the bell. Ziggler
pulls Kofi out with him and it’s the champ going into the barricade. The double teaming begins as the fans are behind Kofi. A double back elbow
drops Kofi again but he fights out of Joe’s clutches. The crossbody hits Ziggler with Joe stealing the two count.

That’s enough to break up the alliance and Kofi takes down the arguing villains with a top rope shot to their heads. There’s the Boom Drop to Ziggler but Joe powerslams Kofi to break up Trouble in Paradise. A
superplex is broken up and Kofi hits the high crossbody for two on Joe. The
SOS gets the same on Ziggler as an angry Joe makes the save. They all head outside and Kofi is whipped into the steps to keep him down. Ziggler gets thrown over the announcers’ table and Joe elbows Kofi in the face back inside.

Kofi jawbreaks his way to freedom from the Koquina Clutch but Joe slaps on
an ankle lock of all things. That’s broken up by a Ziggler superkick for
two with Kofi making his own save. The Zig Zag gets two on Kofi but Joe suplexes Dolph to the floor. Joe blasts Kofi with a clothesline for two and tries the Clutch, which is reversed into Trouble in Paradise to retain the title at 12:09.

Result: Kofi Kingston b. Dolph Ziggler and Samoa Joe Trouble in Paradise
    to Joe (12:09)

Kofi Kingston winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35 as part of
The New Day is one of the greatest feel-good moments in WWE history.
However, a lot of people arent too thrilled with the way Kofis title run
has gone over the past several months.

Dolph Ziggler, Samoa Joe and others have done good work and Kofis done everything a champion is expected to do. However, some of the WWE Universe believes that his run has been lackluster. The feud with Randy Orton
heading into SummerSlam is a quality rivalry with some history, but WWE officials may be ready to pull the plug regardless.
