What Is There To Say To This? Enzo Amore And AEW Star Get In Fist Fight At
    A Concert.

    Posted: 10 Jul 2019 12:14 AM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/say-enzo-amore-aew-star-get-fist-fight-concert/

Fists first, then words. Wrestlers are interesting creatures, with some of them being more aggressive than others both in and outside of the ring.
Some of their personalities are rather big, which can lead to the
occasional issues outside of the ring. When you have a couple of wrestlers with bigger personalities coming together in a place other than an arena,
it can get nasty, though rarely like this.

According to Fightful.com, Joey Janela and Enzo Amore got into a fist fight
at a Blink 182 concert, with Janela introducing himself and Amore not
sounding impressed. This led to a fight with Amore hitting him in the
face. The two were not done yet as it turned into an argument on Twitter,
with Amore ranting about the incident and Janela later explaining his side
    of it as well:

I’m glad you introduced yourself cause I couldn’t pick you out of a line up. You don’t want no smoke. And now I know it, there’s only two things that smell like fish. Ones fish. @JANELABABY straight pussy.

    - #nZo (FKA Enzo Amore) (@real1) July 10, 2019

At least I said hello. https://t.co/HDOHIFng5W

    - Bad Boy Joey Janela (@JANELABABY) July 10, 2019

Don’t try & play that wrestling shit with me. You’ll end up on fucking world star.

    - #nZo (FKA Enzo Amore) (@real1) July 10, 2019

Where was that energy at? We aint friends @JANELABABY Dont introduce urself
to me fuckboy I thought u were a fan hahaha the second I realized it was u
I slapped ya bitchass hands down & walked @ u w/ MY HANDS UP YA FUCKIN RAN BACKWARDS & told my homey to film it ??? soft af

    - #nZo (FKA Enzo Amore) (@real1) July 10, 2019

Thanks for bringing credibility to the biz

    - #nZo (FKA Enzo Amore) (@real1) July 10, 2019

Not a work, So i saw the dude and walked up and said “Hi I’m Joey Janela” at the blink 182 show and we proceeded to have (I’m not lennox lewis) to
have the shittiest fist fight of the year, I’m not a pussy but we had fun!

    - Bad Boy Joey Janela (@JANELABABY) July 10, 2019

I will have no chance to wrestle or “fight” Enzo With my exclusivity starting in October but I saw it to introduce myself! That’s all!

    - Bad Boy Joey Janela (@JANELABABY) July 10, 2019

Clout chasing in public to ultimately look like a pussy, must feel
terrible. Ya not a good human, people are out to enjoy there night and you cause a scene and run while I’m engaging with friends & fans, ya mother should be proud.

    - #nZo (FKA Enzo Amore) (@real1) July 10, 2019

I have no idea what else to say here. Check out Amore’s music video for
    lack of anything else:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: First and foremost: Blink 182 is still around? Anyway, this comes
off as another case of Amore thinking he is a huge celebrity both in and
out of the ring despite having very little to no success in wrestling since leaving WWE. Janela just seemed to be a fan trying to talk to a star and
being treated rather poorly for it, though this is not out of line for Amore’s history. It doesn’t make either of them look great, but Amore continues to look like he is a rather difficult person to deal with.

Who looks worse in this? Will Amore ever become a star again? Let us know
    in the comments below.

Kind Of A Return? Sasha Banks Training For A Return To The Ring In A Non-Traditional Way.

    Posted: 09 Jul 2019 08:56 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/kind-return-sasha-banks-training-return-ring-non-traditional-way/

Maybe she’s getting ready for something? Sasha banks is one of the most talked about wrestlers over the last several months, having not appeared
for WWE since WrestleMania 35 back in April. That’s quite the absence, but it seems that we might be getting closer to her making a return to the
company as well as the ring. A certain sign from Japan would seem to
    indicate this is the case.

In a new tweet, Japanese legend Meiko Satomura said that Banks had been training in the Sendi Girls Dojo in Japan. At the moment, there is no word
on when Banks will be getting back in a WWE ring, if she ever does so at
all. There is a chance that she will be at Extreme Rules to help her
former partner Bayley, who has been said to need a friend in her handicap
title defense against Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.

Banks hasn’t really been gone that long. Check out one of her matches from earlier this year on Monday Night Raw:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: I’m not sure what to make of Banks anymore but it’s starting to seem like she isn’t coming back to the company anytime soon. She keeps getting these updates about her status but she hasn’t been confirmed for anything by WWE in months. The division could use her star power, but at
what point is it just not worth it anymore? I’m thinking we’re getting rather close to that point.

Do you want Banks back? Will she be back? Let us know in the comments
    below.

A Very Rare Honor. What Was So Special And Unique About The Street Profits Appearances On Monday Night Raw?

    Posted: 09 Jul 2019 08:53 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/rare-honor-special-unique-street-profits-appearances-monday-night-raw/

That’s a big endorsement. Over the last two weeks, Paul Heyman has had at least something of a hand in the running of Monday Night Raw. This has included some notable influences here and there, though there have been a
few other additions that might not have been his doing. One of these
additions was the Street Profits making backstage appearances, and it turns
out that they received a very unique privilege.

According to Pro Wrestling Insider Elite Audio, the Street Profits were
allowed to perform their promos this week on Monday Night Raw completely
live in an effort to add an extra energy to them. This is a very rare
practice backstage for talents, as most segments and vignettes are taped in advance, such as the numerous segments that Jon Moxley mentioned having to record over and over again during his time with the company.

Not bad for no rehearsal. Check out the Profits’ picks:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: I don’t know if this is the start of a new trend or just taking a chance on someone, but this is a good sign for the future, or at least a
good sign for the present. I’ve never quite understood the point of preparing the wrestlers to have to do promos and then having so many of
them be pretaped. Maybe you find a diamond in there and they give you something you didn’t expect. You can’t know unless you try and for some reason, WWE has been very scared to try.

Did you like the Profits’ promos? Will this mark a chance in WWE’s style? Let us know in the comments below.

The Best (?) Of Both Worlds. Former WWE Champion To Face UFC Hall Of Famer
    In Mixed Martial Arts Fight.

    Posted: 09 Jul 2019 08:47 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/best-worlds-former-wwe-champion-face-ufc-hall-famer-mixed-martial-arts-fight/

It’s another thing to do. While he has not been in the limelight for a
good while now, there was a time where it seemed Alberto El Patron could
not stay out of the news for more than a few minutes at a time. Usually
this was nothing good but he was around nonetheless. He has not wrestled
on a major stage in quite some time, though he will be back to doing
    something else rather soon.

As announced on the Phi Beta Lambada Podcast, El Patron will be returning
to mixed martial arts at some point this fall to face UFC Hall of Famer
Tito Ortiz at a Combate Americas event. This will be El Patron’s first
mixed martial arts fight since February 2010 after he retired with a 9-5
career record. Ortiz last fought in November and has a career record of 20-12-1.

He hasn’t been in WWE for a good while but he certainly was around. Check out one of El Patron’s best matches in the company:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: I mean, why not? It’s not like his wrestling career is going to last much longer so let him get back in the cage and see if he still has
it. El Patron was far from a nothing MMA fighter and had a lot of
experience, but there is a bit of a challenge to coming back after nearly
ten years away from something and fighting one of the best of all time.
Maybe it goes well, and I’ll certainly take it over having him wrestle in Impact again.

Are you interested in the fight? How will El Patron do after the layoff?

EVOLVE Wrestlings WWE Network Special vs. AEW: Deliberate, but Deserved

    Posted: 09 Jul 2019 07:20 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tomclark/evolve-wrestlings-wwe-network-special-vs-aew-deliberate-deserved/

Pro wrestling fans are prepping for another big weekend, as WWE and AEW
will go head-to-head on Saturday, July 13. AEW’s Fight For the Fallen will emanate from Jacksonville, Florida and will stream on BR Live. WWE will
present EVOLVE 131, the wrestling promotions 10th Anniversary Celebration
from South Philadelphia, exclusively on the WWE Network.

While this night doesn’t exactly represent a return of The Monday Night
Wars, it is obvious that WWE is making a statement. Giving EOVLVE a
worldwide platform would have seemed like an impossible notion a few years
ago. But in the pro wrestling climate of 2019, anything is possible and the fact is that EVOLVE deserves this massive spotlight.

Vince McMahon’s company may not believe Cody Rhodes’ company to be a threat. But WWE does recognize the potential for AEW to make waves and
that’s probably been true from the beginning. All Elite Wrestling
represents something different, which now seems to be what World Wrestling Entertainment wants to deliver. The only problem is that the former is succeeding while the latter is struggling.

Check out WWEs special look at EVOLVE!

Revamping Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live seemed like great moves and
both may still payoff in the long run. Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff have
the experience and knowledge to get the job done as Executive Directors of
the red and blue brands. But Vince is still the boss of course, which means that he will always have the final word.

So while Raw and SmackDown remain the focus of WWE’s efforts, it’s become obvious that neither program is catering to the same audience that AEW entertains. Both crowds are comprised of pro wrestling fans, but that may
be where the similarities end. The WWE audience is accustomed to that company’s style of wrestling and it could be that’s enough for them.

But AEW’s audience has seen what WWE has to offer and it may never be
enough. WWE’s product is stale, repetitive and most importantly, it’s lackluster. One edition of Raw looks like the one before it and that does
not appear to be changing. The booking is chaotic. The storylines are thin
and often abandoned. The talent isn’t motivated and in many cases, that talent is trying to find a way out.

Watch WWEs take on how EVOLVE shaped the future of wrestling!

So if WWE is determined to meet AEW face-to-face on the same night, then
the only way to do it is to deliver a similar product. Besides NXT, WWE doesn’t have a similar product. That’s where EVOLVE comes in. The fans of Gabe Sapolsky’s company are indeed very aware of NXT. Even the most diehard EVOLVE fan would likely admit to supporting NXT, if for other reason than
those stars came through their favorite company at some point.

AEW and EVOLVE share much of the same fanbase and that base wants to see independent wrestling stars receive opportunities on the big stage. Those talents work hard to find success and they do so on their own terms.
Therein lays the key difference between those two companies and NXT. The
black and gold brand is WWE. Vince’s company features NXT as if it’s a blue collar pro wrestling company working for respect but that’s simply not the case.

Using EVOLVE Wrestling as a bullet in the chamber is an interesting move,
but an obvious one nonetheless. The partnership between both companies has
been beneficial for each, but WWE’s motives are clear. However, that does
not mean EVOLVE as a company hasn’t earned the right to enjoy this
attention. EVOLVE is a blue collar pro wrestling company working for
respect and they deserve it. The same will especially be true on July 13.

Watch EVOLVEs look at Austin Theory vs JD Drake!

Four of the eight matches booked will feature NXT stars. But the other four matches will spotlight the EOVLVE stars only. It’s a split that fans can surely understand, but it’s also one that works. This is an opportunity for talents who could be years away from such a stage, to step up and make an impact right now. It’s a challenge that certainly no one in EVOLVE is
taking lightly. Any fan that’s never followed EVOLVE will surely be quite impressed with what they see.

At the top of EVOLVE is  the champion Austin Theory, a man that many
believe is a WWE Superstar in the making. Theory has only been in the
business for three years, but he’s already shown more promise than many
other talents on the indie circuit. But another man that has earned his
spot on July 13 is JD Drake.

Drake may not have Theory’s physique, but he definitely has the skill in
the ring. Drake is the current World Wrestling Alliance champion and he
will face Theory in a Winner Take All Match, which could very well steal
the show. Neither man is currently working for WWE and that may change,
    sooner rather than later.

But the most important moment in both of their careers is yet to come and
July 13 is that moment. The best talents in the business rise to the
occasion when the time comes and that will most certainly be true, not only
for Drake and Theory, but for everyone set to compete at EVOLVE’s 10th Anniversary.

Many pro wrestling fans believe that EVOLVEs placement against AEW is
indeed a deliberate move by WWE, because Vince McMahon’s company wants to
get its shots in whenever possible. While that may be true, the fact is
that EVOLVE is benefitting from the move. Its good for the business, its
good for fans and its well deserved for EVOLVE.

Theres Your Reveal. Someone Knocked On Aleister Blacks Door And Now We
    Know Who It Was.

    Posted: 09 Jul 2019 06:53 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/theres-reveal-someone-knocked-aleister-blacks-door-now-know/

And there was a knock. Over the last few months, Aleister Black has not
had much to do. His job has consisted of sitting in a dark room every week
and asking someone to come and pick a fight with him. While this might not
be the most interesting thing in the world, it has led to some speculation about who could be coming to fight him. A few weeks ago, someone knocked
and now we know who that was.

This week on SmackDown Live, Cesaro was revealed as the man who knocked at
the door and will be facing Black on Sunday at Extreme Rules. This will be Black’s first match since moving over to SmackDown Live in the Superstar Shakeup. Cesaro had previously been a member of the Monday Night Raw
roster, though it is not clear if this is going to be a permanent change
    for him or not.

Things got set up with a few knocks. Check out how we got here:
[This post contains video, click to play]

Opinion: This isn’t the most thrilling choice in the world, but at the same time it’s better than some of the people it could have been. The problem
is that Black has gone ice cold waiting, as the previous run he had has
been all but forgotten. I’m looking forward to him kicking Cesaro’s head off, but you never can tell what WWE might do with something like this.

Do you like Cesaro as the choice? What will happen in the match? Let us
    know in the comments below.

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results - July 9, 2019

    Posted: 09 Jul 2019 04:53 PM PDT https://wrestlingrumors.net/tommyhall/smackdown-live-coverage-results-july-9-2019/

    Smackdown

    Date: July 9, 2019

Location: SNHU Arena, Manchester, New Hampshire

Commentators: Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips

It’s the go home show for Extreme Rules and after last night’s long list of changes, you have to think that the card is mostly set for a change.
Tonight is likely going to focus on Shane McMahon, with Roman Reigns
possibly even gracing us with his presence for a change. We’re still
waiting on the Eric Bischoff regime to start though, meaning this might not
be the strongest show. Let’s get to it.

Earlier today, Dolph Ziggler arrived and complained about carrying Kevin
Owens when Owens showed up in his car and honked at him. They yelled at
each other and got in a fight but some well placed wrestlers ran in and
broke it up. Shane came in and told Owens to get out of here.

In the back, Shane said he was doing his job and will replace the
originally scheduled Ziggler vs. Owens main event.

Owens runs into the arena and rants about how Shane needs to hear the
truth. He’s tried to be a good company guy for a long time now but a few months ago, the whole McMahon Family was out here saying they were going to listen to the fans. But now Shane gets more TV time than anyone else and NO
    ONE HAS EVER WANTED THAT!

It makes him sick, to the point where he wants to smash his head on the
table, which he climbs onto. Shane comes out and says cut Owens’ mic. Owens finds another mic and rants about Shane calling himself the Best in the
World being an insult to everyone in the back. Shane has that mic cut as
well so Owens grabs a commentary headset and keeps going. Security finally chases him off.
    Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Finn Balor

Non-title. On the way to the ring, Nakamura says that he’s getting his
career back on track. Balor says that Nakamura won’t be using him to do
that. Nakamura knocks him into the corner and we take a rather early break. Back with Balor getting kneed in the ribs but managing to send Nakamura
into the corner. A Nightmare on Helm Street gets two but Nakamura is right
back with a sliding German suplex. Kinshasa is countered with a Sling Blade
so Nakamura hits the running knee in the corner.

The middle rope knee to the head sends Balor outside and a posting makes it even worse. They both beat the count back in but Nakamura sends him back outside for Kinshasa, where Balor beats the count again. We’re not done yet as Nakamura throws him outside for a third time, this time for a whip into
the steps. Balor beats it AGAIN, so this time it’s Kinshasa for the pin at 9:12.

Result: Shinsuke Nakamura b. Finn Balor Kinshasa (9:12)

Shane, Drew McIntyre and Elias are ready for Sunday’s tag match when
Ziggler comes in and wants to fight. Instead of Owens, he’ll face Roman Reigns in the main event.

Video on Kofi Kingston’s title win and reign. Then Samoa Joe choked him out to set up their match on Sunday.

Joe says Kofi can deny the truth all he wants but that changes nothing.
Kofi is everything Joe said he was and now Joe is coming for everyone Kofi
has used to get where he is today. On Sunday, Joe is taking the title.

It’s time for a contract signing for the Women’s Title match on Sunday. Nikki Cross represents herself and Alexa Bliss and here’s Bayley as well. After looking at a clip of Bayley attacking Nikki last night, Bayley
wonders where Alexa is again. Nikki says last night was the real Bayley,
which Bayley attributes to Bliss being in her head. Bayley promises to
bring whatever she has to on Sunday to beat both of them. Then what happens when Bliss loses and blames Nikki? That sends Nikki over the edge and she promises to win the title so they can be co-champions. She wants Bayley to stick around for the next match too.
    Nikki Cross vs. Carmella

Bayley is at ringside as Nikki takes Carmella down to start. A faceplant
and some rams of the head into the mat have Carmella in trouble. Nikki gets
two off a snap suplex and it’s off to something like a Rings of Saturn. It’s off to a regular chinlock for a bit until Carmella gets up and avoids
a charge. The Bronco Buster keeps Nikki down but she’s right back up with
the Purge to finish Carmella at 3:42.

Result: Nikki Cross b. Carmella Purge (3:42)

We look back at the Kabuki Warriors defeating the IIconics in Tokyo to earn
    a future title shot.

The IIconics run into Paige and the Warriors, who wan their title shot
tonight. That’s not happening because Billie is sick though with mad cow
bird flu (Peyton: “It’s really rare.”). Paige calls them annoying clowns and slaps Billie, before reminding her that she’s sick. The title match is coming.

We look back at the end of last night’s show with Cedric Alexander dressing up like a janitor to shock Drew and Shane, only to lose in the end and be unmasked, rendering the whole thing rather pointless.

Roman Reigns promises to make Shane and Drew rest in peace.

It’s time for a Tag Team Summit with New Day (whose music came on for half
a second before Big E.’s intro), Rowan and Daniel Bryan and Heavy
Machinery. New Day is out first and Big E. is excited about the idea of all three members of New Day being able to touch their championship tips
together. Bryan and Rowan cut off the hip swivel though with Bryan saying
no one takes the titles seriously because New Day doesn’t take them seriously.

Woods wants to hear from Rowan though, because Rowan is always taking
orders from someone. It might be Bray, Harper or Bryan and they’re having trouble remembering who his daddy is. Bryan cuts that off and says New Day isn’t serious enough and they have always been a comedy act. It wouldn’t be as bad as if Heavy Machinery won, so here’s Heavy Machinery. Tucker talks about getting close to the titles at Stomping Grounds and now they’ve
earned another title shot. Otis mocks New Day’s swiveling as the Chris
Farley is strong with this one. Now it’s time for a triple threat.
Otis vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Xavier Woods

Bryan bails to the floor to start so Woods grabs a headlock. That’s
reversed with a toss around the ring so here’s Bryan again for an attempt
at a double suplex on Otis. He delayed vertical suplexes both of them at
the same time, leaving the other three to get in a brawl on the floor. Big
    E. and Tucker put Rowan over the announcers’ table and get thrown out.

Back from a break with Woods throwing Bryan into the barricade, only to
have Bryan grab the LeBell Lock inside. Otis dives in for the save so Bryan kicks at him a bit. The big one is reversed into a suplex and there’s the Caterpillar, with Bryan rolling to the apron. That leaves Woods to take a World’s Strongest Slam for the pin at 8:48.

Result: Otis b. Daniel Bryan and Xavier Woods Worlds Strongest Slam to
    Woods (8:48)

Video on Kevin Owens vs. Dolph Ziggler, which isn’t happening tonight.

    We recap the opening segment.

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville interrupt Ember Moon at catering because this
is still going. Ember’s win last week brought the two of them closer
together and it’s a tag match for next week, assuming Ember can find a partner. If she can’t, she’ll fight on her own.

Ali isn’t scared of the devil in any form because he’s seen so much evil on the streets of Chicago as a police officer. He’ll ask the devil if he can have this dance and evil only shows up if you won’t fight.

    Extreme Rules rundown.

We get a split screen interview between Aleister Black and an empty chair. Black looks a bit confused and then laughs when he is told that the
opponent will not be announcing his identity at this time. This is
something that Black himself would do so it’s very smart. Black doesn’t care who it is anymore but someone walks up to the chair. Their hand
touches the chair and they sit down to reveal…..Cesaro. Black says he’ll fight him on Sunday.

Shelton Benjamin is asked about tonight’s main event, says “well” and leaves.

We’re ready for an interview with Kofi Kingston but Paul Heyman walks by first. Kingston, who didn’t seem to see Heyman, comes in and says last week he kicked Samoa Joe in the head. He likes facing people like Samoa Joe
because it makes his title reign more impressive. This Sunday, he’s keeping the title.
    Roman Reigns vs. Dolph Ziggler

Hang on though because here are Shane, Drew and Elias to watch. Shane is on commentary as Ziggler kicks Reigns down to start and nails a quick Shot to
the Heart. Roman fights back up and knocks Ziggler outside for the apron dropkick. A distraction lets McIntyre post Reigns though, which Shane just happened to miss. Back in and Ziggler gets two, followed by another Shot to
the Heart for two. A neckbreaker is good for the same and we hit the
    chinlock.

Another neckbreaker is broken up, as is Ziggler’s running DDT. Reigns
starts the comeback but has to Superman Punch Elias, allowing the Zig Zag
to hit for two. The superkick is countered with a Superman Punch for two
but Elias pulls Ziggler out before the spear. Reigns hits the no hands dive
but goes too far and lands face first on the floor. Thankfully he pops up
as Shane comes into the ring. Ziggler superkicks Reigns but here’s Owens
for a Stunner to Shane. Reigns and Ziggler get back in so the spear can
    finish Ziggler at 8:48.

Result: Roman Reigns b. Dolph Ziggler Spear (8:48)

    Results

Shinsuke Nakamura b. Finn Balor – Kinshasa

Nikki Cross b. Carmella – Purge

Otis b. Daniel Bryan and Xavier Woods – World’s Strongest Slam to Woods

Roman Reigns b. Dolph Ziggler – Spear
