NJPW G1 Climax Weekend Preview: Goto/White Opens B Block, Jon Moxley in
    Action, Tanahashi Battles KENTA

    Posted: 09 Jul 2019 11:58 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/njpw-g1-climax-weekend-preview-goto-white-opens-b-block-jon-moxley-in-action-tanahashi-battles-kenta/

New Japan Pro-Wrestling returns home this weekend for the continuation of
the 2019 G1 Climax tournament. Weve got three big, consecutive shows on
deck running through early Monday morning in Hokkaido, at which point well
be four points deep in both blocks and well on our way through the most grueling series in all of wrestling.

Like every day of the G1 this year, all three of this weekends shows will
be broadcast live on NJPW World with English commentary. Now would be an
ideal time to subscribe to the service, as youll be charged again on the
first of the month. That includes 11 shows in total during the month of
July, as well as their full library including Dominion and the Best of the Super Juniors tournament.

    Saturday, July 13, 2019

    Ota City Gym, Tokyo, Japan

    Bell Time: 5:30AM ET

The B Block gets its first crack at tournament action here as the heated rivalry between the Switchblade and his former CHAOS stable comes to a head against Hirooki Goto. It was Jay White who infiltrated the faction after
making his NJPW debut, planting seeds and eventually splitting the group asunder by turning Gedo and Jado against the Rainmaker and his allies.

Well also see a battle between two behemoths as the Stone Pitbull Tomohiro Ishii battles G1 newcomer and former ROH World TV Champion Jeff Cobb. If
the tag team preview was any indication, this should be a hard-hitting hoss fight for the ages! Finally, Juice Robinson takes on Shingo Takagi with a
lot to prove for both stars, and the Death Rider Jon Moxley returns to
action against the worst human being on the planet, Lord Taichi.

Kota Ibushi, Will Ospreay & Yuya Uemura vs. EVIL, SANADA & BUSHI
Lance Archer & Kanemaru vs. Bad Luck Fale & Chase Owens
Tanahashi, Shota Umino & Ren Narita vs. KENTA, Clark Conors & Karl
    Fredericks
Kazuchika Okada & Yoshi-Hashi vs. Zack Sabre Jr. & Minoru Suzuki
B Block: Juice Robinson vs. Shingo Takagi
B Block: Jon Moxley vs. Taichi
B Block: Toru Yano vs. Tetsuya Naito
B Block: Tomohiro Ishii vs. Jeff Cobb
B Block: Hirooki Goto vs. Jay White

    Sunday, July 14, 2019

    Ota City Gym, Tokyo, Japan

    Bell Time: 5:00AM ET

After the A Block kicked off in Dallas this past weekend, some of New
Japans most heavy hitters return to action on Day 3. The main event of the
show will see the Ace Hiroshi Tanahashi looking for his first two points,
after coming off a loss to career rival Okada on opening night. Hell have
his hands full though, as he takes on KENTA (fka Hideo Itami) who surprised
the world with a huge victory over tournament front-runner, the Golden Star Kota Ibushi to earn his first two points.

Ibushi will look to rebound against EVIL, in what could be the sleeper performance of the week, while the submission specialist Zack Sabre Jr. has already stated he plans on taking on IWGP Heavyweight Champion Okada and earning a future title shot without even having to win the G1 Climax.

Finally, IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay battles Los
Ingobernables de Japons SANADA, coming off the Cold Skulls incredible bout
with Sabre on opening night. Ospreay will be looking for his first win as
well, while two big men with two points each slug it out when Bullet Clubs
Bad Luck Fale attempts to tackle Lance Archer.

Juice Robinson, Henare & Yota Tsuji vs. Hirooki Goto, Honma & Yuya Uemura
Jeff Cobb & Ren Narita vs. Jon Moxley & Shota Umino
Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano & Yoshi-Hashi vs. Jay White, Yujiro Takahashi &
    Chase Owens
Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi & BUSHI vs. Taichi, Minoru Suzuki & Kanemaru
A Block: Lance Archer vs. Bad Luck Fale
A Block: Will Ospreay vs. SANADA
A Block: Kazuchika Okada vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
A Block: Kota Ibushi vs. EVIL
A Block: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. KENTA

    Monday, July 15, 2019

    Hokkaido, Japan

    Bell Time: 5:00AM ET

The last of three consecutive shows, early Monday morning, opens with the eternal wildcard Toru Yano attempting to stay alive while wrestling the hard-hitting Shingo Takagi. Juice Robinson will continue on his path
against Hirooki Goto, while Jay White takes on yet another member of CHAOS
in the Stone Pitbull Tomohiro Ishii. Ring of Honors Jeff Cobb battles AEWs
Jon Moxley in a highly anticipated match that should be a tremendous amount
of fun, while Naito faces Taichi in a strangely unique main event.

Kota Ibushi, Jushin Liger & Shota Umino vs. Will Ospreay, Yota Tsuji & Yuya Uemura
Honma, Henare & Ren Narita vs. EVIL, SANADA & BUSHI

Becky Lynch on Having No Time to "Digest" Historic WrestleMania Win,
    Getting Personal w/ Ronda Rousey

    Posted: 09 Jul 2019 08:30 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/becky-lynch-on-having-no-time-to-digest-historic-wrestlemania-win-getting-personal-w-ronda-rousey/

Raw Womens Champion Becky Lynch recently sat down with FAIR GAME with
Kristine Leahy to discuss her historic WrestleMania main event again UFC
Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair.

The Man explains the origin of her unique nickname, being one of the many students of the late, great American Dream Dusty Rhodes, and a whole bunch more. Lynch also described the insanity of WrestleMania weekend and stated that, unfortunately, she didnt exactly have time to sit and savor her career-defining victory on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

So WrestleMania was on April 7th. My match was on April 8th. The show went about 7 hours long, maybe a bit over, and so by the time I got out my hair
was all crazy, having done interviews and everything like that I think it
was about 2:30am. I got back to the hotel at 3:30, and then was up at 5am
for more media and stuff like that. I didnt have time to sit and digest. It
was media in the morning, and then right off to Raw that night to get back
    to work.

On the story with Ronda Rousey heading into the WrestleMania triple threat match, The Man stated that it was her personal goal to legitimize her fight
as the true main event of the biggest show of the year and the best way to
do that was to make things personal between her and the then-undefeated champion.

The beauty of that story is that it was real, and that people felt it. That
was why people got so invested. What I wanted was people to want to see
this as the main event. The way to make people want to see you as the main event is to make it personal. There was no way in hell I was allowing this
to just be a corporate main event. It was the first time ever that women
were going to main event, but it had to be because the people demanded it,
and not because this was a good publicity move. It was what the people
wanted, and people stayed to watch the main event even though it ended up
being a 7-hour long show. People cared about that story because it was personal.

New Jack To Release A Memoir In November

    Posted: 09 Jul 2019 06:51 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/new-jack-to-release-a-memoir-in-november/

It has been announced that ECW legend and controversial personality, New
Jack has written a memoir which will be released in November this year.

The bio, which will be entitled, New Jack: Memoir of a Pro Wrestling
Extremist, was co-written by Jason Norman and features a forward from The
    Blue Meanie.

Below is the description of the book:

You may have cheered for New Jack. You may have booed him out of the
building. You may have even feared him at times. But until now, youve never really known The Most Dangerous Man in Wrestling.

For the first time, the man born Jerome Young opens up about how he became
one of the stars who enabled Extreme Championship Wrestling to make a
permanent mark on the professional landscape. His crazed dives off
balconies and scaffolds; his bloody, weapon-filled mat wars that trampled
the line between reality and entertainmentthis memoir reveals the
perspective of the man at the center of them all and includes new
disclosures about the infamous incidents with Mass Transit, Gypsy Joe, and
the stabbing of a fellow wrestler in Florida. Beyond the gimmicks that
united white supremacists and the NAACP against him and his fellow
performers, New Jack candidly discusses the violence in his youth that
nearly led him to a career in crime, his past as a bounty hunter, a
near-fatal drug addiction, the last months of ECW, and his place in
    wrestling history.
