In the recent episode of X-Pac 1, 2, 360, Sean X-Pac Waltman talked about
the reaction backstage to Brock Lesnars Money In The Bank win on May 19th. Despite not being a part of the match, Lesnar stormed the ring and grabbed
the Money In The Bank briefcase, much to the chagrin of many in the match.

Waltman understood talents complaints, using painting as an analogy.

Transcription via Ross Kelly at Wrestling INC.

I would not blame anyone in that match for being pissed off. That they had
no idea [regarding the finish]if thats true. You put this match together
and youre out there risking your neck, youre doing all this sh*t, you got
this finish you think is [gonna happen]. Trust me, when youre a wrestler
and you do this, when youre a pro wrestler and youre in a match, this is
like your canvas that you are painting your masterpiece on. Youre trying
for a masterpiece every time you go out there. Youre trying for a Mona
Lisa… and youre just about finished and all of a sudden you have no idea
and this guy comes out and just paints a mustache on the Mona Lisa.

NJPW Says There Is "No Working Relationship As Of Now" With AEW

Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated is reporting that New Japan Pro-Wrestling & Jon Moxleys current agreement was made completely independently of All Elite [Wrestling]. The former-WWE Champion was
revealed on Sunday to be the mysterious man that has been calling out IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Juice Robinson.

Moxley will make his NJPW debut on June 5th, at the Best of Super Juniors finals. Barrasso reached out to NJPW GM Michael Craven, who said that AEW & NJPW do not have a working relationship as of now.

NJPW also has AEWs Chris Jericho wrestling on June 9th, where hell
challenge Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Dominion.

New Japan and Jon Moxley came to terms on an agreement some time ago, completely independently of All Elite. Our understanding is that he is free
to wrestle in Japan. We wish AEW well, but have no working relationship as
    of now.

Major Update On Road Doggs Status Backstage In WWE

    Posted: 27 May 2019 04:57 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/major-update-on-road-doggs-status-backstage-in-wwe/

A new report from PWInsider has shed some light on the situation surrounding Brian James, better known as Road Dogg, and his status as a backstage official in WWE.

Last month it was noted that James had stepped down from his position as
the co-lead writer of Smackdown Live, a position he held alongside screenwriter Stephen Guerrieri, who mostly worked out of the WWE
    headquarters in Stamford.

PWInsider is now reporting that James has taken a position working
full-time with the WWE NXT brand down in Orlando, and recently began
working at the Performance Center. At this point its unknown what his
official role is with the company.

Mystery Wrestler "X" Revealed - Jon Moxley Is Coming To NJPW!

    Posted: 27 May 2019 04:40 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/mystery-wrestler-x-revealed-jon-moxley-is-coming-to-njpw/

Jon Moxley is coming to New Japan Pro-Wrestling!

Not even 48 hours after breaking the internet by appearing at All Elite Wrestlings debut pay-per-view event, Double or Nothing, the former WWE
world heavyweight champion is making waves yet again.

Earlier this month, NJPW began airing vignettes teasing a mysterious
wrestler X set to arrive at the Best of the Super Juniors Finals on
Wednesday, June 5th. Whats even more interesting, the vignettes have only
been appearing in instances where the current reigning IWGP U.S.
Heavyweight Champion Juice Robinson is on-screen.

This morning, NJPW once again aired the familiar video package officially revealing that Jon Moxley is the mysterious intruder behind the threatening messages.

The company has confirmed that Moxley will indeed be appearing on June 5th
at the historic Ryogoku Sumo Hall to confront Juice Robinson. Its unlikely
a match between them will be happening on that date, however, as the
expected collision is much more likely to go down four days later on June
9th, at the annual NJPW Dominion event.

For what its worth, both Moxley and Juice were part of the same class of
FCW wrestlers, which became the inaugural class of NXT Superstars when the developmental promotion was rebranded. While the two have not locked up in
many years, they did have a series of singles and tag matches in both FCW
    and NXT back in 2012.

WWE Monday Night Raw returns to the Sprint Center in Kanas City, Missouri this evening, and while not a single match has been announced for the show
so far, theres plenty to get excited about.

The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar returns to the red brand tonight,
accompanied as per usual by his advocate Paul Heyman, and hes promised to reveal which world championship hell be choosing to cash-in his Money in
    the Bank briefcase.

The future of the United States Championship will also be revealed, in
another big segment on the show. Rey Mysterio defeated Samoa Joe to win the title back at Money in the Bank last weekend, but suffered a very
legitimate separated shoulder during a post-match attack. The lucha legend
will be on-hand, so we should find out whether or not hell still be able to compete.

The official Raw preview on WWE.com is also teasing that we may find out
who Becky Lynchs new challenger is for the Raw Womens Championship tonight. There will also be more shenanigans involving the all-new WWE 24/7
    Championship currently held by R-Truth.

Jon Moxley Breaks His Silence: "This Is An Official Declaration Of War!"

    Posted: 27 May 2019 03:06 AM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/jon-moxley-breaks-his-silence-this-is-an-official-declaration-of-war/

Jon Moxley has taken the wrestling world by storm over the past month.

Following his once unthinkable departure from WWE, the former heavyweight champion crashed All Elite Wrestlings debut pay-per-view event, Double or Nothing, this past weekend, and revealed that he has signed a multi-year contract with the fledgling promotion.

Moxley has now broken his silence for the first time since leaving WWE, in
a brand new vignette posted to the official AEW Twitter account late last night.

I am alive!, the man once known as the Lunatic Fringe exclaimed. My name is
Jon Moxley, and I am on a mission to reclaim my soul. Im not the only one
who thinks that its about time this industry got a facelist, so make no
doubt about it this is an official declaration of war!

Cody Rhodes Comments On Destroying Triple Hs Throne: "I Burned A Bridge & I Cant Go Back"

    Posted: 26 May 2019 09:26 PM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/cody-rhodes-comments-on-destroying-triple-hs-throne-i-burned-a-bridge-i-cant-go-back/

Following last night’s monumental AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes
took some time to speak with members of the press, including ProWrestling.com’s own Doug Enriquez.

If you could sign anyone to AEW, who is the next name you would sign?

I guess the guy I wanted to sign the most would have been Jon Moxley, and
we did sign [him]to a multi-year deal. A really wonderful deal for AEW in
our presentation as the alternative. Thats the guy I wanted.

Moxley is right in the thick of it. The Shield was the hottest thing. I got
to be in there with those guys with my brother and my dad. He took the last Bionic Elbow! I just have this connection with him, and he has a connection with the fans. I dont know if you saw but when hes in the ring, he is
literally unhinged, and just coming out of whatever shell had been put over him. I was just really happy.

How do you feel the match between you and Dustin went?

Back when the situation came up where we might have wrestled at
WrestleMania, I actually didnt want to do it. I wanted to do the ladder
match at that Mania, and I wanted to move away from Dustin. We have a very unique relationship, and in such a strange way its cathartic what happens
it is real between him and I. A different upbringing; a different
lifestyle. The Prodigal Son story is dead on for who we are. But hes my brother. I was so happy that he got to be out here, because thse fans are
so different and he got to be there. By no means is he going to retire. Hes
    not done.

It was just a really crazy experience out there. Honestly, I feel like Im
still in the ring, if that makes any sense. Thats why I havent showered,
and thats an old Dusty thing. When you hit a home run, or you feel like you did, you dont want to go home. You just want to stay out there, but we have time limits But I was real happy.

When Dustin revealed his new Dustys Favorite t-shirt at Starrcast, do you
    think he went too far?

No, no. I mean its funny beacuse I was clearly his favorite. [Laughs] Its well-documented. Hes a performer, always, first and foremost. It was
something he didnt tell me about. Its okay, you know? Thats the type of
risk you take. It sounds cheesy or whatever, but wrestling is art, and when
its done right, for a performer to be able to perform on a level like that,
and do things like that you cant take it away from him. Sometimes its a
miss, but that wasnt a miss.

Walk us through the thought process behind the entrance, the throne, and
the message you were sending to Triple H and WWE:

I had a literal dream about this type of entrance. I loved when Triple H
came out at WrestleMania and was kind of like Shao Kahn. It was really
cool. The throne kind of symbolized his reign. I want to play ball! I know
we dont say competition but it stands for itself I also want people to know this role, this EVP role which I love, and Im excited about, but Im a
wrestler first. We were able to do that tonight.

Tony Khan sat in Gorilla and timed the show! That takes years how to learn! Briscoe was the only guy who could do it for a long time, and Tony did it tonight on his first time. They dont always need us there in those
executive roles. WE were able to go out and be wrestlers. Not so much at
Triple H, but more a shot at Im not ready to dive into that role, and lead into it. I want to be a wrestler. Im not done. I know that people think
Kenny [Omega]s the best, and that Chris [Jericho] is the best, and now Jon Moxley is the best. Im always gonna be wondering, what can I do?

Was there a sense this show had to be better than ALL IN?

It had to be a step up from ALL IN. It had to be. Everything has to be a
step up. We put our names on this. I burned a bridge tonight, and I cant go back. Im fine with that. I want us to play. I thought the whole show needed
to be a step up from ALL IN. To be more specific, Matt and Nick got screwed
at ALL IN. They werent able to have the match they wanted to have, so
tonight they were able to show the world their idea of tag team wrestling,
and its absolute fire. Chris is just such a legend. I got to design that entrance, and I dont know if it came off as I thought it was pretty cool.
It had to be better than ALL IN, and Ill tell you the truth, the next time
has to be better than this. Thats a tough ask.

Is it important for you to include symbolism in your performance, or can
you just go out and put on the best matches possible?

I think it was important that we provided a variety. The buffet. Its gotta
be a wrestling buffet. That tag team match has to be tag team wrestling at
its finest. Kenny and Chris has to be bell-to-bell, work rate at its
finest. I like to lean into the emotional character side of things. Thats probably my wheelhouse. I wanted all the symbolism. I think it was done
right, and you know, I think I know it was done right, because the people
were so receptive to it. Thats just the best feeling in the world. Now if
they had booed it out of the building, we could have worked with that too.
But I like symbolism, and I think youre going to see a lot of great things
out of everybody who is on this roster. Particularly out of the guys, the
four EVPs, we have a lot of pressure. How will they handle this role?

Is the amount of diversity all across the show something intentionally put
in place? How did you go about making that decision to make things more diverse.

Well Im in an interracial marriage, and Ive learned a lot that I would
never have known. One time I told Brandi, I dont see color. And she told
me, Well then you dont see my experience. Shes right. You need to be able
to see that experience, or at least understand it. The old territory
system thats out. The best wrestlers are going to feel the game. Theres a
very diverse profile, and Im really proud of that, but were going to
promote them as wrestlers. Thats all the elements of diversity. Were not
going to make it a PR element, and Im really proud of that, because its
    about the wrestling.

There was a lot of blood and violence on Double or Nothing is that a sign
of things to come in the future?

Theres not a real standards-and-practices format that we have at the
moment. I think when you look at TV, our pay-per-views will take it a step
up, if that makes any sense. Its sports-centric. The other wrestling
company almost runs a TV-G show with how protected it is. And I get that,
youre servicing the child audience, but theres a huge percentage of the audience that still wants sports and violence. Its treated as a live
sporting event, and I think that will help our TV and drive how we want to
do TV, but at the PPVs youll see a step up. Weve even talked about a PPV
itself thats another step up. Wrestling is violent. Its part of the combat sports, and weve got a lot of great guys with legit backgrounds. I dont
mind using the word [violence]. Everyone here tonight is happy and healthy.

Will ALL OUT and Double or Nothing be annual events?

Double or Nothing and ALL OUT will probably be tentpole events, and there
might be another one. Were not going to do a PPV every month. I realize it
was $50 and when we ask people to part with their money, its got to be
worth it. Not every show will be 4-5 hours either. Its a two-hour TV
broadcast. ALL IN was where it all started, so to be able to go back We
gotta keep going, we gotta step it up. I want fans to keep us accountable.
The moment something slips, or the moment something misses, let us know!
Thats something that is missing. When youre the only game in town, you dont care. We care.

Tony Khan On His Wrestling Fandom Fueling AEW, Weight Classes, Womens
    Wrestling Diversity & More

    Posted: 26 May 2019 06:25 PM PDT https://www.prowrestling.com/tony-khan-on-his-wrestling-fandom-fueling-aew-weight-classes-womens-wrestling-diversity-more/

Following last night’s monumental AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, company President Tony Khan took some
time to speak with members of the press. Check out the video above,
    courtesy of Pro Wrestling Sheet.

When did the Jon Moxley deal get worked out?

As soon as he was out of his deal and wanted to talk to people, he came to
me and I was really excited to talk to him, when he was able to talk to me.
Hes been great, and Im very excited that hes part of the roster.

What was your personal highlight from Double or Nothing?

My highlight of the night was at the end of the show, after Mox took down Kenny, we go off and we realize weve done one of the all-time greatest pay-per-views. Theres nothing that can stop us now. Kenny is okay, and that
was pretty much my only big concern at that point, because I knew we hit a
    home run of a show.

Will we see you in any storylines going forward?

No. We have way too many good performers for that.

What is AEWs relationship with Cracker Barrel?

Theyre a sponsor. They provided some excellent catering. The catering was excellent, on top of being a good friend of AEW. They love our performers.
They love the guys, and we tried to work in their props.

Can you speak on PAC being removed from Double or Nothing?

It would have been great if he would have been able to be here. Im a huge
PAC fan. We love PAC. Hopefully hell be working a lot of shows for us in
the future. It just didnt work out. There were a lot of reasons why, but I think the show turned out great. We all respect him as one of the best performers.

How does your personal fandom of wrestling play into what youre going to accomplish with AEW?

By loving wrestling and watching a lot of wrestling, I think it is going to help. By understanding what a fan wants to see, from top to bottom I feel
like today I was able to go sit with the guys, and everyone had great
opinions on what was going to make this a great show. Thats what makes this such a . great collaborate process with the group we have, for booking,
because we communicate really well. I think I offer a different
perspective, not just as a fan but as a businessman too. Its a little bit different from what the guys experience is. Theres great synergy. As a
group, not just the top executives, but the whole roster and everybody
together the whole is great than the sum of its parts. We all bring
    something different.

How do you want to implement the womens division going forward?

Whats been great is we have really, really diverse amount of executives and coaches who are super knowledgable about womens wrestling. Daves here, and
Ive honestly learned a lot about a lot of the great female performers from reading the Observer. The person who sourced the great joshi from Japan was Kenny Omega, who found a lot of names, sent me a lot of videos. Kenny,
Brandi and I together have done a lot of work on that. Theres absolutely internationally right now its a great time for womens wrestling, and were
going to be a huge part of it. The matches that we presented today were on
par with all the great matches on the show. Thats no surprise to me. We expected that going in. We have really top people, and Kenny was proud of
that. He was proud of his match, but he was proud that the ladies that he
found for us delivered and had a great match.

Are you looking for a direct competition with WWE?

You know whats funny is seeing people say that theres a party line, like we need to have a company line. We dont. Everybodys trying to get something
out of this. We all just want to do the best show. If any of us if the competition feuds our fire, thats great. For me, Im just trying to do the
best show possible. Im not really thinking about their shows. I hope their shows are great, because the best time for wrestling, everybody was doing
great stuff. There was a time 20 years ago where all the shows were great. Well, maybe 21 years ago more so than 20 years ago. 1998 was a great year.
I think we can get there again. Im so excited for when we get to weekly.
Weve done a show that we can hang our hat on. Weve done one of the great wrestling PPVs. But Im really excited for getting to weekly because its
going to be a better quality of life. The work is going to be better than
its ever been. Youre going to be able to watch a lot of wrestling, and its
not going to be a chore either. Its going to be fun, so Im excited.

    Will AEW have weight divisions?

No. Im not planning on weight divisions. Its like shoot sports stuff. The weigh-ins are a neat thing about sports, and well see a lot of elements
like that. Youll see more Tale of the Tape, as we build up, and as guys
have win-loss records we can build up stats about what has, and has not
worked in the matches. Youre going to see a lot more of that as we get into
our weekly TV presentation. I hope itll be like what youve seen in combat sports. I think that resonates with viewers, and its something people like
to see. We want to see the best wrestlers, who have the best records
fighting the champion. I think were kind of past the point of weight
classes. I want to have a world championship, and thats going to be the
world championship not the heavyweight [championship].
