    Drake vs miami.....

Line is 1-1.5 pts now lol.....

So I don't want to hear any "oh my, march madness strikes again" BS if drake wins what is pretty close to a coin flip game

It may depend on whether or not (a) Omier plays, and (b) is 100%. Without him, I doubt Miami is deserving of a 5.

Or did you ever bother to wonder why a 5 seed is only a 1 1/2-point favorite over a 12?

Meanwhile...boy, they really packed them in last night in South Bend for the Mississippi State-Illinois "first four, opening round, call it anything EXCEPT a play-in as that implies the loser was never in the tournament, don't make us start calling the
round of 64 the second round again" game. Of the 9149 seats, they managed to squeeze in 780 ticket buyers. I - wait a minute...something's not right with those numbers...
I got it - did I say 780? That was for the Mississippi State-Illinois game at Notre Dame and the Sacred Heart-Southern game at Stanford COMBINED. (466 at Notre Dame; 314 at Stanford.) And people wonder why there are only two regional sites for the women.
Meanwhile, on the men's side, 12,431 showed up in Dayton to watch Nevada-Arizona State and/or Farleigh Dickinson-Texas Southern.

There are 5/12 games most years where at least one of the games is a 3 pt or less spread. So no. One year the 12 was even a 1 point favorite(can't remember the exact year)

It all just depends on the 5....same thing with Virginia today. *before* that game even started i said "look virginia losing to furman isn't really an upset".

The thing which makes the 5-12s so juicy is the 12s are the best of the one-bids.

Florida Atlantic is a 9 seed from a one-bid conference.

USUALLY. That high is fairly rare.

Gonzaga was a 2 seed in 2004 as the only WCC team. Also a 3 seed in 2006 and a 4 seed in 2009 with no other WCC teams in the tournament.

Gonzaga is about the only team which has graduated from one-bid status to be a major player.

Saint Mary's is making that a two-bid conference now, to the best of ability.
