    ...who's #2?
Ohio State's loss was by 1 to Georgia.
Alabama, on the other hand, beat a top-10 team by 25, while #2, #3, and #4 all lost.

Doesn't matter. There was no #2 this year.

The Ohio State game was an anomaly. Other than that and one road game with Missouri...

    But wow... SIXTY-FIVE TO SEVEN...

Do we really NEED a Playoff at this point, of any size?

the AP poll is out and TCU is #2.

Given the fact that Georgia was a shanked field goal attempt away from not even being in the final, I would say, "Yes."

Based on the Dolphin rankings, #2 is Michigan, TCU, or Alabama depending on which flavor of rankings you choose. It's actually one of the rare instance where his standard ranking, based on maximum likelihood, differs from his ranking based on median
    likelihood.

The coaches have TCU as #2 as well.
In fact, except for a few places where two teams are swapped, both polls match: 10/11 (Florida State / Utah)
    12/13 (Clemson / USC)
    15/16 (LSU / Oregon)
    19/20 (Mississippi State / Troy)

Well, if this was an NCAA tournament, they would have walked off with one of those silver trophies.

However, there is no such thing as a "CFP Championship Game Participation Ring," and anyone who gets one AND a Big 12 championship ring AND a Fiesta Bowl participation ring has an "impermissible benefit" and loses all remaining eligibility.

"What's with all of the ANDs, you ask?," you probably didn't ask? While TCU can't give out a CFP Championship Game participation ring, it CAN put "CFP Championship Finalists" on their Fiesta Bowl or Big 12 rings - that's how Auburn got away with giving
away "national champion" rings in 2004 (I think they were just SEC championship rings with "National Champions" put on them as well).
There's no such thing as a CFP Championship ring, either, although Georgia can give out "national champion" rings since the coaches and the AP both named them as national champions.
