• Georgia is a 13-13.5 point favorite over TCU.

Some early money on the underdogs, apparently -- line started at 14.5.

Same thing happened with the Ohio State game, but most of the Ohio State money came in at the end - line moved from something like 7 to 5.

But they were just throwing their money away, as Georgia is easily 14 points better than everybody else...

I will give you some credit: you did say at the start of the season that Georgia-Ohio State would be a game that mattered.

You do realize that's only the second game this season that anyone got within double digits of Georgia, and the third within 14...

I do also wonder if that was a ratings ploy to try to draw viewers for the semifinals (and, before you think I'm completely nuts, that would be true of BOTH semifinals...).

Well, kinda hard to see otherwise, if you consider the few teams that might matter.

(For the record, I would NOT have put TCU on that list.)

    Why, yes. Yes, I do.
I also "realize" you said this:
"Georgia is two touchdowns better than anyone in the nation. Only one team, and that's Missouri on the road, has gotten even to single digits.
42-21 Georgia, and the same thing they said when they walloped Oregon is said here: "We just have better players." "

Either you're two touchdowns better than everybody, or you're not. UConn's women's basketball team was 10 points better than everybody twice, and their butts cashed those checks.

That's exactly what I thought would happen. Someone is probably getting whooped bad in practice as we speak. That Ohio State was even allowed to be in the game was an embarrassment to this Georgia team.

I think the problem is, there's too much of a break between the conference championship games and the CFP semi-finals. Teams can get "match stale." Play the semi-finals on 12/17, and Georgia probably does win by 14 - and Michigan as well.

The 12-team playoff system will fix this somewhat by having the quarter-final round closer to when the conference championships are held.
