If they were refugees they wouldn't be illegal aliens.

    Diversity is our strength.
    No human is illegal.
    We are a sanctuary city.
    Only racist oppose open immigration.

You'd think that one of the least diverse areas in the country would welcome and increase
in strength. Maybe Michelle can give us another lecture on the racism of wanting to live
with white people from her mansion.

“There was no whip, there were no whips, but whatever. Details, details. The important thing is that this proves America is racist. Mere facts are no match for the all-holy narrative. Ten thousand illegal immigrants packed under a bridge for weeks in
100-degree heat because Joe Biden expressly invited them into this country? That’s not a story. But white guys in cowboy hats on horses chasing black people? Now that’s a story! That’s something liberals can understand. It’s the only thing they
ever want to talk about. They want to pretend we’re still back in the days of slavery, and the U.S. Border Patrol just served up the perfect images to fit that narrative.”

You can tell who’s in a closed wingnut media bubble because they are the
ones who think this was a win for DeSantis.

He tricked refugees from communism into thinking they were going someplace where their asylum applications would be further processed. Basically lied
to them to get them on the plane.

Then he dumped them in a fairly remote location where not only was there no infrastructure for what he promised them, but he told no one they were
coming so they were left in the middle of nowhere with no one to meet them. They ended up walking three miles to a community center which is when the community learned they were there.

    The punchline:

While DeSantis, wingnut media, and people like Tom yukked it up over the
stunt, the community up there rallied around the refugees, feeding and
housing them and welcoming them, showing the actual Christian values that wingnuts claim to have. Of course Tom’s media bubble didn’t tell him this part so he and people like him still think this self-own was a win.

The contrast in values, as lived not just claimed, couldn’t be more stark.

    Let's see....

    Human trafficking
    Millions of illegals
    Fentanyl smuggling
    Skyrocketing crime
Secretly flying migrants and dumping them in "fairly remote location where not only was there no
    infrastructure "

    have the high road here.

Of course Mayor Lightfoot took the same approach, decrying Texas and Florida for their
non-Christian stunt and then dumped the immigrants on a local suburb.

    How are they not refugees?

    Who is a refugee?
A refugee is someone who has been forced to flee his or her country because of persecution, war or violence. A refugee has a well-founded fear of persecution for reasons of race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership in a particular
social group. Most likely, they cannot return home or are afraid to do so. War and ethnic, tribal and religious violence are leading causes of refugees fleeing their countries.

69% of those displaced across borders come from just five countries: Syria, Venezuela, Afghanistan, South Sudan and Myanmar.

True. Florida has dealt with hundreds of thousands
and the federal government refuses to
close the border. Martha's vineyard deals with 50 and can't stop patting themselves on the
    back.

Edgartown, MA has a population of 517. So they took in roughly 10% of their
population in refugees in one day. Get back to me when Florida takes in 2.2
    million in one day.
Del Rio, TX had 15,000 show up on their doorstep in one day, and many times more that in the whole year. Their population? 30,000. And with a hell of a lot
    lower per-capita income, too.

It’s clear DeSantis was trying to create a humanitarian crisis in Edgartown

    Who is a refugee?

A refugee is someone who has been forced to flee his or her country because of persecution, war
or violence. A refugee has a well-founded fear of persecution for reasons of race, religion, nationality,
political opinion or membership in a particular social group. Most likely, they cannot return home or
are afraid to do so. War and ethnic, tribal and religious violence are leading causes of refugees fleeing
    their countries.

69% of those displaced across borders come from just five countries: Syria, Venezuela, Afghanistan,
    South Sudan and Myanmar.

AFAIK, The individuals have not been given refugee status. I may be wrong, of course, but if they

None of those apply to the Venezuelans. They are simply fleeing economic deprivation caused by Communism. It's unlikely there are any real refugees
in the group, and it is impossible for all of them to be of that status.

Well now we’re learning the extent of what DeSantis did to them. They were promised services that weren’t there (if Boston has capacity to process
them as you or Enright claimed, why didn’t he send them there?). They were given fake addresses all over the country and told that to avoid
deportation they had to check into an ICE office near those fake addresses within a few days. The fake addresses were as far away as Washington
    State.

He was clearly setting them up to fail. Because his goal was to create a chaotic humanitarian crisis to own the libs, not help theses people.

So yeah, Eric was right. Clown stunt. That you’re proud of it says a lot about you.

Look at the results. They've gotten red-carpet service, bused directly
to places that will take care of them. Fed and housed along the way.
If they'd been left where they were, they would have been sleeping on
the street until they found their way out.

DeSantis and Abbott are protesting the treatment being given to them
by Democrats. It drew attention to the hypocrisy and empty virtue-
signalling of Democrats. Hell yes, I'm proud of it. The people
involved were not hurt, and in fact got better treatment than they
would have received had they been left alone.

What do you think of Biden's statement that the border is secure? Is
that true? He (via his press office) said so, as did the vice
president. Is that true? Of course not.

The actions of Democrats are inflicting pain on our country, and it is

Hell, DeSantis got them express service. They'd barely have found shelter in
Texas by now, just simply because there were a few thousand ahead of them in line.

Well now we’re learning the extent of what DeSantis did to them. They were promised services that weren’t there (if Boston has capacity to process them as you or Enright claimed, why didn’t he send them there?).

For decades illegals were used as props for the liberals. "No human is illegal,"
"diversity is our strength" telling us anyone who was against mass migration was a racist. But not them. If liberals are mad, the should be angry that DeSantis stole their schtick.

“’We’re in a housing crisis as we are on this island.’ LOL! They really can’t hear themselves,
can they? Illegal immigration was fine when it was 10,000 people roasting alive under a
bridge in Texas, but insert a few dozen brown folks into a liberal enclave, and all the
whiteys run around like headless chickens.”

Lied to about where they were going:

The migrants said a woman they identified as "Perla" approached them
outside the shelter and lured them into boarding the plane, saying they
would be flown to Boston where they could get expedited work papers.

    https://www.npr.org/2022/09/15/1123109768/migrants-sent-to-marthas-vineyard

Given fake addresses and unkeepable immigration appointments:

Agents apparently chose random homeless shelters all across the country
from Washington to Florida, to list the migrants mailing addresses, even
when told by the migrants that they had no address in the U.S.

The group of migrants, Self said, were being asked to appear in
jurisdictions near homeless shelters all across the country as early as
    next Monday.

“There is no other reason to list as someone’s mailing address a homeless shelter in Tacoma, Washington when they ship him to Massachusetts. “

You can tell who’s in a closed wingnut media bubble because they are the
ones who think this was a win for DeSantis.

He tricked refugees from communism into thinking they were going someplace
where their asylum applications would be further processed. Basically lied
to them to get them on the plane.

Then he dumped them in a fairly remote location where not only was there no
infrastructure for what he promised them, but he told no one they were
coming so they were left in the middle of nowhere with no one to meet them.
They ended up walking three miles to a community center which is when the
    community learned they were there.

    The punchline:

While DeSantis, wingnut media, and people like Tom yukked it up over the
stunt, the community up there rallied around the refugees, feeding and
housing them and welcoming them, showing the actual Christian values that
wingnuts claim to have. Of course Tom’s media bubble didn’t tell him this
part so he and people like him still think this self-own was a win.

...so it worked. A happy ending, right?

The contrast in values, as lived not just claimed, couldn’t be more stark.

True. Florida has dealt with hundreds of thousands

close the border. Martha's vineyard deals with 50 and can't stop >>>>>>>>>> patting themselves on the

Edgartown, MA has a population of 517. So they took in roughly 10% of their
population in refugees in one day. Get back to me when Florida takes in 2.2
    million in one day.
Del Rio, TX had 15,000 show up on their doorstep in one day, and many times
more that in the whole year. Their population? 30,000. And with a hell of a lot
    lower per-capita income, too.

It’s clear DeSantis was trying to create a humanitarian crisis in Edgartown

Back to... Texas? Wait a minute. DeSantis wants to make a point that the evil Blue states just don't understand the immigration pain the fine people of Florida are feeling... and can't find *50* immigrants in all of Florida to send up? He has to
    outsource to Texas?

BTW, someone should ask him if he can find California on a map - their illegal immigration population is roughly Texas and Florida combined.

It is a real problem. Treating human beings like props seems like a suboptimal solution. Add it to "build the wall" - solutions that are all flash, no meat.

    Cheers.

There are no "illegal immigrants" in California. No one is illegal. If they were illegal, then how come they have driver's licenses and can vote (well, in San Francisco School Board elections, anyway)? They are not a burden on the taxpayers - especially
the large companies that pay more and OF COURSE they don't pass the costs onto everybody else; the increases in the cost of movie tickets/streaming and Apple iPhones is merely the cost of business, it's the supply chain, it's MAGA's fault, we need the
money to pay to fly women out here so they can have abortions, there are no problems with California, well, except for the drought, but that's Global Warming caused by Those Big Bad Republicans and Gas Guzzling Cars, please don't come up with another "

Gasp, the horror of "what DeSantis did to them". Sent them to an
island -- with temperate weather -- that has tens of thousands of open accomodations and an influential population that can get them special
handling with a call to the governor.

Contrast this with the Democrats inviting all comers to the border,
against the laws and thumbing their nose at the constitution of the
United States, and having 51 of those die in the heat of a semi-
trailer truck. Oh, the gentle caress of Joe Biden and the Democrats.

Popular Information, however, has obtained a brochure that was provided to
the migrants who ultimately agreed to the flights. It was provided to
Popular Information by Lawyers for Civil Rights (LCR), a Boston-based legal organization that represents 30 of the migrants. The brochure says that migrants who arrive in Massachusetts will be eligible for numerous
benefits, including "8 months cash assistance," "assistance with housing," "food," "clothing," "transportation to job interviews," "job training,"
"job placement," "registering children for school," "assistance applying
for Social Security cards," and many other benefits.

None of this, however, is true.

Matt Cameron, a Boston-based immigration attorney, explained that the
benefits described in the brochure are resettlement benefits available to refugees who have been referred by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and authorized to live in the United States. These benefits are
not available in Massachusetts to the migrants who boarded the flights, who
are still in the process of seeking asylum.

infrastructure for what he promised them, but he told no one they were
coming so they were left in the middle of nowhere with no one to meet them.

True. Florida has dealt with hundreds of thousands
and the federal government refuses to
close the border. Martha's vineyard deals with 50 and can't stop >>>>>>>>>> patting themselves on the
    back.

It’s clear DeSantis was trying to create a humanitarian crisis in Edgartown
to own the libs…very Christian. Unfortunately for him the libs in question
    actually were humanitarians.
And they'll probably make sure the asylum requests get expedited at the lightly
    trafficked Boston consulate, too.

    1. Sending 50 migrants to Martha's Vineyard is like the Holocaust

    2. HAHAHA, you just gave us a chance to show how compassionate we are >>>>>>
    3. We demand emergency assistance

    4. Get these damn migrants off our island

    5. Call out the National Guard!

ALL IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS

    H/T John Hayward

Hell, DeSantis got them express service. They'd barely have found shelter in
Texas by now, just simply because there were a few thousand ahead of them >>>>> in line.

Well now we’re learning the extent of what DeSantis did to them. They were
promised services that weren’t there (if Boston has capacity to process >>>> them as you or Enright claimed, why didn’t he send them there?). They were
given fake addresses all over the country and told that to avoid
deportation they had to check into an ICE office near those fake addresses >>>> within a few days. The fake addresses were as far away as Washington
    State.

He was clearly setting them up to fail. Because his goal was to create a >>>> chaotic humanitarian crisis to own the libs, not help theses people.

So yeah, Eric was right. Clown stunt. That you’re proud of it says a lot >>>> about you.

Liberals are usually the one's who want to spread the misery.

Popular Information, however, has obtained a brochure that was provided to the migrants who ultimately agreed to the flights.

Matt Cameron, a Boston-based immigration attorney, explained that the benefits described in the brochure are resettlement benefits available to refugees who have been referred by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and authorized to live in the United States. These benefits are
not available in Massachusetts to the migrants who boarded the flights, who are still in the process of seeking asylum.

Short of a resignation and Democratic replacement, your only hope of out of power gets him dead -- one way or the other.

    a stupid clown stunt.

You can tell who’s in a closed wingnut media bubble because they are the ones who think this was a win for DeSantis.

It was a massive win for DeSantis, resonated with the vast majority of American working class voters and exposed the left-wing Democrats for the hypocrites they are.
