enjoyable documentary about Nolan Ryan... 2 things

    1. The folksy tone is a bit over the top. "Narrator Mike MacRae pushes his folksy tone rather insistently throughout “Facing Nolan” — it’s probably not a good idea to engage in a drinking game that requires taking a shot each time he refers to “
Ol’ Nollie” — but it’s a near-perfect fit for a tall tale that just happens to be true." https://variety.com/2022/film/reviews/facing-nolan-review-nolan-ryan-1235205031/

    2. Robin Ventura declined to be interviewed.

This caught my attention. On a whim, I drove from Ames, IA to KC
one morning because Ryan was pitching against Bret Saberghagen at
Royals stadium. It went extra innings and by all accounts was a
    worthwhile game...

Unfortunately, I remember very little of it. As it happens, that
was the day (and night) of my last drunk.
