Not particularly newsworthy aside from the demise of once decent
conferences (SWC and Big 8). I miss the UT/OU and Husker/OU games of the
1970s. I wonder if the SEC's embarrassment of riches ultimately leads to
    its embarrassment.

It's become the Big $$ expansion. I dread how it may end.

Although only official this week, this news is so old that mia and I actually discussed it before he went AWOL.

I know there had been discussion, but I didn't even hear anything of that today.

Tells you how relevant the Big XII is right now.

Last I remembered they were hung up on BYU because they didn’t want to play any games on Sundays and the other three schools were mainly wishful
    thinking about invites.

I assume you're talking about all sports, and not just football, and BYU doesn't kid around about that - the NCAA women's soccer championship game had to be delayed from Sunday to Monday because BYU was in it.

Why is the NCAA and other institutions bending over backwards for a religious cult?

BYU doesn't religiously kid around about anything. It is often said that BYU home games are in fact Mormon revival services disguised as sporting events.

Because the country is about to be run by one.

Mike (More correctly, one of their member institutions is a religious cult.)
