    If you can't make it up by increasing the current temperature, you
    decrease the older temperature so it looks like it is warming faster
    more recently.

    question -- what caused the warming between 1800 and 1950? Hmm?
    CO2 can't have done that. What was it? Has it stopped and you're
    blaming all recent warming on man? Is that what you're claiming?
