• Juwan Howard punches winning Coach

From Irish Ranger@21:1/5 to All on Mon Feb 21 05:59:32 2022
Wisconsin's men's basketball team beat Michigan
77-63 yesterday. Michigan's Head Coach, Juwan Howard,
lost his temper and started yelling and finger jabbing at the
Wisconsin Coach, when they were supposed to be shaking
    hands after the game.

A group of players and coaches stepped in and separated them.
But Juan Howard never stopped yelling and then pushed
back in and punched a Wisconsin Assistant Coach!

Hard to imagine a worse display of poor sportsmanship and
unprofessional conduct than Howard punching a Coach
from the team that just outplayed him.

So what will happen to Juan Howard? BTW, Howard is
black and the Wisconsin Coach he punched is white.
What would happen to a white Head Coach who punched a
black Assistant Coach from an opposing team that just beat him?

Pretty much the exact same thing, I hope. There is no real racial
injustice in basketball; in fact that thought never even occurred
to me, though probably would have had the situation not been
    related to sports.

Sports is a place where the ground is pretty even. People who pretend
it is about anything but the performance and comportment are looking
for problems. (Yes, that means you Brian Flores.)

Now it's possible that the loudmouths who are constantly trying to
inject race into every situation might have tried to get a white coach
fired where they wouldn't should the coach have been black, but I hope
    they would be ignored.

This whole thing has nothing to do with race. It's a tone-deaf coach
who needs to change his behavior. If Howard doesn't "come to Jesus" with
an apology and future improvement, I would hope he *would* be fired.

If someone uses the word "punch" while discussing Howard's bonehead
behavior, they haven't seen the tape. He should be suspended the rest of
the season, and given the Bobby Knight "you do that again, you gone."

When did Bobby Knight slap/hit another coach? Regardless of what Bobby Knight did at a different time, a time when every little thing didn't get white people canceled, what would've happened to the Wisconsin assistant if the roles were reversed?
Juwan is suspended for five meaningless games. The Wisconsin assistant would never coach again. I can't wait to see what kind of pat on the hand Kamara will get.

Three players suspended for visible punches, two for Michigan -- which is sad because none of that happens without their coach acting like a bitch.

    Smallish fine for Wisconsin HC.

Larger fine and rest of regular season ban for Howard.

So they got #0 for Wisconsin? Hadn't seen that they fined him, though
I had noticed he seemed to be in the middle of the scrum.

What for, I don't know and they don't say. I guess general principles
that it takes two sticks to rub together to make a fire.

Which is an appropriate punishment for what Howard did. I note that he
finally changed his tone and became apologetic instead of making
excuses. I suspect he would have been fired had he kept on with
the previous crap he was spewing.

If it makes you feel any better there were a couple or three white guys that didn't even get arrested for murdering a black man in Georgia recently... until the woke mob intervened of course.

Probably true. But I bet about 0 of them were standing around with the gun when the cops showed up.

Actually, the Wisc coach got in Howard's face and pretty much started
