• Okay, I'll ask, part 230807:

From The NOTBCS Guy@21:1/5 to All on Mon Aug 7 09:02:48 2023
What effect does the complete and utter collapse of the Pac-however-many-teams-are-left have on the 12-team CFP playoff? Do they stick with the top 6 conference champions getting autobids, or, now that we are down to a de facto "Power 4" (if that), is it
    reduced to 5?

I'm sure they'll try to let as few teams from outside the big boys in at possible. But to keep lawsuits out, they will allow one in.

The beginning of the end of any such model. Eventually, people are going to see that the difference between the one+ relevant conference and everyone else is so high, there's no need for the playoff -- we just get rid of most everybody else and prop up
enough for college football to be formally graduated into what it really is.
