Sometimes it’s good to step back from our domestic squabbles and get a
    wider perspective.

How Obama (and Trump and Biden) beat Europe:
    The growing transatlantic prosperity gap

tl;dr: Europe’s economy had just edged past us in total GDP in 2008 but since then we’ve blown them away. The main reasons he credits for this:

Stimulus in the US instead of austerity in Europe helped by a stronger
federal structure (Germans resist bailing out Greece but New Yorkers bail
out Florida and vice versa depending on conditions)

    Fracking

    Big Tech

    Immigration

Our partisan politics, surprisingly. But he makes a good case that the
European Parliament is too non-political and no real Europe-wide policy
    debates actually take place there)

“ This is one of the most misunderstood developments of our time. Republicans like to greatly exaggerate the extent to which Democrats oppose domestic fossil fuel development, while Democrats often seem embarrassed to point out that Republicans are
lying — Obama’s speech was a notable exception”

Yep, it's all good. For the new green deal and the AOC crowd.
