  • AI leads to new Beatles music

    Sir Paul McCartney says he has employed artificial intelligence to help
    create what he calls "the final Beatles record".

    He told BBC Radio 4's Today programme the technology had been used to "extricate" John Lennon's voice from an old demo so he could complete
    the song.

    "We just finished it up and it'll be released this year," he explained.

    I would say, "Expect fireworks from the Recording Academy if he even thinks about submitting it for any Grammys," but I think the AI part is overblown; a recording of "Unforgettable" with Nat King Cole added to Natalie Cole's singing won Record of the
    Year, so there's nothing new about this, as long as the AI doesn't add anything that Lennon himself didn't record.

    The fireworks are gonna come when it's clear that DOESN'T happen and won't happen any more.

    I have an CD with Hank, Hank Jr., and Hank III singing together, but it
    was pre-AI.
