• Music City Bowl wants into the CFP playoffs?

From The NOTBCS Guy@21:1/5 to All on Sat Apr 22 09:24:15 2023
Nashville's city council voted to fund the new stadium being planned there. Reportedly, one of the things it is targeting is a regular spot in the CFP playoffs, which are up for negotiation after the 2024 season.

Why, yes, if it replaced the Fiesta or Rose Bowl, then that would mean that five of the six CFP quarter-finals and semi-finals would be in SEC states - How About That!

I care less and less about the MFL with each passing day.

What problem? Given that (a) except for Missouri, the SEC schools are in the south, and (b) the CFP quarter-finals and semi-finals will be in late December/early January, where it happens to be warmer in the south at that time of year, just about the
only other three places you can play them without worrying about cold weather are LA, Arizona, and Vegas.

I'd like to see it played in a blizzard at Spartan Stadium.

I don't think there has ever been a blizzard in San Jose.
Uh, what's that? The Spartan Stadium that's in East Lansing, you say? The one that had more people in it to watch an Ice Hockey game than the other had in all of its home football games combined not too long ago? (Seriously, San Jose State was in danger
of being kicked out of FBS because it had to struggle to meet the 17,000 average attendance over a season rule at the time - and the only way it made it was, it hosted Stanford every other year. Now, it's 15,000 per year at least once every two years.)

That Ice hockey game was 10/6/2001. OK, since you want something with
more prestige, how about Lambeau Field?

I was trying to think of the Northernmost large stadium.

Its too bad they can't build some sort of structure over a football field and then maintain a comfortable temperature inside.
