Love the stones on abbott here to be pushing through a pardon after perry was convicted of murder.

my favorite part- "“Texas has one of the strongest ‘Stand Your Ground’ laws of self-defense that cannot be nullified by a jury or a progressive District Attorney,” Abbott posted in a statement on Twitter.

Now people who don't want the pardon might argue that it *is* the duty of a jury to decide whether or not if 'stand your ground' applies. The fact that Abbott basically says "no, I get to decide whether the jury verdict is just" in a case like this is
the most alpha of alpha moves, and supremely texas.

The reality is that this was Travis County. And it in *NO WAY* wll set a precedent to be followed by others(except when travis county jurors make more mistakes lol). Abbott is simply doing the right thing here, and Perry is not guilty.

That basically means the governor, and most of Republican Texas, is supporting the murder of political opponents.

Best be very careful if that goes through your area too.
