    The other half is you need the cities more than you think -- unless your plan is to destroy them all and have the largest city be about 50-100K (one of Trump's "Freedom Cities" or somesuch) and gut the national infrastructure.

    Exactly why do we need big cities. The basics are food water and shelter. We did without big cities for hundreds of years. They used to just be places to go gawk. Now all the people we took advantage of for labor are homeless in big cities. What's
    better, a sharecroppers shotgun shack or a mat on the sidewalk? Sometimes the devil you know is better than the devil you don't know.
    And yes, I'm sure you can produce a laundry list of human abuse and atrocities from 50 - 100 years ago but are they really worse than the drug addiction, crime, and murder in big cities? I don't think so.
    There's so many people living in slavery today because of the desire of the democratic party to help them it's not even funny.
