How to Download and Install SonicWall Global VPN Client for Windows
If you need to connect to your corporate network securely from a remote location, you may want to use SonicWall Global VPN Client (GVC) for Windows. This is a traditional client-based VPN that can be configured either as an IPsec or SSL end-point agent.
It is compatible with SonicWall TZ, NSa, NSv, and NSsp series firewalls.

Step 1: Download SonicWall GVC
To download the SonicWall GVC installation file for Windows, follow these steps:


Navigate to the SonicWall VPN Clients page at https://www.sonicwall.com/products/remote-access/vpn-clients/.[^1^]
Select Global VPN Client (GVC) at the top.
Select the desired Version: GVC (32-bit) or GVC (64-bit).
Click Download.
Save the new GVC client file to a directory on your management computer.

Step 2: Install SonicWall GVC
To install SonicWall GVC on your Windows computer, follow these steps:


Double-click the downloaded GVC client file to start the installation wizard. Click Next to accept the default installation folder or click Browse to select a different one.
Click Next to accept the default components or click Custom to select the ones you want to install.
Click Next to accept the default program folder or click Browse to select a different one.
Click Install to begin the installation process.
Click Finish to complete the installation and launch SonicWall GVC.

Step 3: Configure SonicWall GVC
To configure SonicWall GVC on your Windows computer, follow these steps:


Open SonicWall GVC from the Start menu or the system tray icon.
Click New to create a new connection profile.
Enter a name for the profile and click Next.
Select either IPsec or SSL as the VPN type and click Next.
Enter the IP address or hostname of your SonicWall firewall and click Next. Select either GroupVPN or a specific user account as the authentication method and click Next.
Enter your username and password if required and click Next.
Select either DHCP or Static as the IP address assignment method and click Next.
Select either Enable Transparent Mode or Disable Transparent Mode as the connection mode and click Next.
Select either Enable Virtual Adapter settings or Disable Virtual Adapter settings as the virtual adapter mode and click Next.
Select either Enable DNS/WINS settings or Disable DNS/WINS settings as the name resolution mode and click Next.
Review your profile settings and click Finish.
