  • Unsophisticated Prediction Tiers Season 53: Organizational Thread

    Sorry for the long hiatus. These are the tiers for Season 52

    Tier 1

    MH
    Werner Pichler
    Mark

    Tier 2

    Tier 3

    Items on the agenda:
    1. Werner needs to pick a league
    2. Anybody else wants to join? (Is ixion still in? Come on, ixion...)
    3. If ixion stays, we are left with 9 human players. Do we kick out the BOTs and make three tiers of three?
    4. Anything else you would like to discuss?

    I was going to say that makes for awkward scheduling but then I realized
    there is no reason why each team could not play 2 matches a week (one
    against each other opponent in the group) , with the format changing to
    a quadruple round robin (4 matchdays).

    Hm...interesting possibility. It would be a pretty snappy season, but why not?

    The same team playing 2 games simultaneously is against the UPT "rules". It was officially proposed years ago that we don't do that, and as far as I remember the proposal was approved. How are the 11 players in the team supposed to be on 2 pitches at
    once?

    I'm in favour of kicking the bots out, but wouldn't 1 tier of 4 and 1 tier of 5 be better?

    Have we played the current season's Cup yet?

    Belgium is fine with me. Supplemented if necessary with matches from
    the Danish Superliga, where teams are also quite close together.

    Indeed, a tier of one human and three bots is weird. Three tiers of
    three is OK with me. Also Tier 1 of four players and Tier 2 of five. :)
