If Binder can have a thread about the start of the European season, I
can have one about the start of the season in South America.
The hardest league to predict is the Brazilian League. Palmeiras and
Flamengo I assume are the favourites. The other teams on my shortlist
when I was making my pre-season predictions were Internacional,
Fluminense, Corinthians, and Athletico Paranaense.
Argentina: Boca Juniors, Racing Club and River Plate look the most
likely to win the League I think.
Uruguay: I think it's got to be either Nacional or Penarol hasn't it?
Paraguay: Cerro Porteno and Olimpia seem to be the favourites there;
Nacional or Libertad could do it though.
Chile: It'll probably be either Colo Colo or Universidad Catolica that
win the League. This weekend, in the first round of matches, newly
promoted Copiaco play against the Champions Colo Colo.
The Copa Libertadores starts soon too. I think the Argentinian and
Brazilian dominance will continue there. My shortlist when making my >pre-season predictions was Boca Juniors, Racing Club, River Plate,
Flamengo, Palmeiras, Internacional.
Anyone want to make any predictions?

The Chilean League starts tomorrow. None of the others start until next >weekend though. (Or none of the ones I follow, ie the 5 mentioned above, >anyway.)
