    2010 Uruguay v Ghana; Quarter-final
    2006 Argentina v Mexico; 2nd round
    2002 USA v Portugal; 1st round; or possibly the 3rd place play-off, South Korea v Turkey
    1998 Possibly Brazil v Chile; 2nd round
    1994 Brazil v Italy; Final
    1990 Possibly Argentina v Italy; Semi-final

    And the best World Cup match I've ever seen live: Probably Uruguay v Ghana in 2010.

    Best World Cup match I've ever seen including recordings of matches though, is probably Italy v West Germany in the 1970 World Cup Semi-final.

    I've just realized, looking at them all listed like this, how few of these games involve 2 teams from the same continent.

    Best World Cup match I've ever seen including recordings of matches though, is probably Italy v West Germany in the 1970 World Cup Semi-final.

    I've just realized, looking at them all listed like this, how few of these games involve 2 teams from the same continent.

    Some good selections there.

    For 1990 I’d have gone with Cameroon v England and for 1994 I’d have gone with Italy v Nigeria or Italy v Spain.

    None stood out for me. I heard Brazil Belgium was really good, but
    missed that one.

    Germany - Croatia. It was intense. Germany played really well, even
    after going down to 10 men.

    But Netherlands Argentina would take some beating so I have to go with
    that one.

    That was crap. Of more interest was Brazil -NL, Spain - Italy
