• The greatest world cup match ever?

This was the most exciting final ever, I think, despite the disappointment of having it go to penalties. But I still think that
Italy's 4-3 1970 win over West Germany, which I have probably watched
half a dozen times, was a better match. And I'm not referring to the 5
extra time goals only; the entire second half was a thrill a minute
with the Germans storming the Italian goal. Beckenbauer was chopped
down at the edge of the area just as the Germans brought on their
second sub, and had to play the extra time with a separated shoulder
and his arm in a sling. The Italians took shameless advantage of a
weak Argeninian referee, but he had his revenge when the Germans
equalized in the third minute of injury time--which in those days was
a lot. The equalizer was a fantastic goal, and the man of the match
was the venerable Uwe Seeler. If you haven't seen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIxr3kQnYvk&t=259s

I think this match would be my choice too.
