More teams = more games = more
money.
Blueshirt has brought this to us :
More teams = more games = more
money.
and again more chances for Italy to qualify ;-)

It's a club tournament so with 32 teams taking part so I assume an
Italian club would be involved anyway...
Blueshirt brought next idea :

I missed the "club" word :-(
I have a feeling that some European leagues will object to the
proposal... and they will continue with their steadfast principled
opposition until FIFA promise them the sun, moon and stars ... and very possibly a bag of cash!
Well, who would have guessed it... FIFA propose to go forward with
their 32 team Club World Cup for 2025. More teams = more games = more
money.

And if this is going to be every 4 years, why are they having one for
2022?
And why is the 2022 Club World Cup being played in 2023? Further
evidence that playing the World Cup in Qatar in December was a bad
idea?

And if this is going to be every 4 years, why are they having one forI would expect FIFA to continue with their annual CWC tournament 'as
2022?
is' until they launch the expanded version.
And why is the 2022 Club World Cup being played in 2023? FurtherFWIW, the 2021 FIFA World Club Cup was played in 2022.

32 isn't a multiple of 6 though. Is it going to be 6 from each of South America and Europe and 5 each from the other continents, or what?

32 isn't a multiple of 6 though. Is it going to be 6 from each of South America and Europe and 5 each from the other continents, or what?I doubt it would be equal representation from each confederation.
Weird that they would not try 16 as a first step, though.
No details on format, but my guess would be that the winners and runners
up of the CL from the previous four years, or perhaps winners of the
EUropa league and CL, would get invited. With adjustments made for
double winners in some mysterious fashion.
Same thing for LIbertadores and possibly Sudamericana.
Then a smaller number of qualifiers from the minor confederations - last
4 winners of their competition.
Add in one from Oceania, hosts,
to 32. Pressure from big clubs might make it a straight knockout
competition.
8 Europe, 8 South American, 4 CAF, 4 AFC, 4 Concacaf, 1 host, 1 Oceania,
2 extra special invites ?
And if this is going to be every 4 years, why are they having one for 2022?
