Looks like in the age of the video ref many PKs considered by wannabe experts dives are in fact legitimate PKs. Hopefully this will be applied consistently and in a few years everybody gets it. (One of the reasons of the downfall of Italy ...)

Korea should have remained compact and tried to hit on the break, even at 2-0 down after 10 minutes (what Costa Rica did against Germany). Leaving all that space behind to Vini-Ney-Raphinha-Richarlison is a recipe for disaster.

    1. If they try to hit on the break, the game is dead at 2 - 0. They are the ones who need to attack.
    2. Brazil are a strong team, unlike Germany. They know what they're doing.
    3. Costa Rica was defeated by Germany.

Seriously, I have to wonder how somebody writing such nonsense is considered by some an expert.

Does Japan even practice penalty kicks? Three very poor shots there.

I'm with you on that one, just run and shoot already, even if Panenka-style. Pantomimes during the run-up should always end embarassingly for the shooter.

Apparently, if you write "Dalic's luck" on one of our forums you'll get
    banned.
Funny, he subbed on Budimir, then subbed him off in ET for Livaja who
    missed a penalty.

Amateurish defender by the Korean LB. This is going to be a Brazilian blowout

I think parking the bus is a valid tactics on Friday to avoid just that.
They can even rest key players now.

4-0 up that would probably be the smart thing to do, especially so regarding Neymar,
given he's recovering from injury. But Tite brought the full team back for the second half

I have to say that, while your post did feel incredibly stupid, AFAIK you don't usually post such nonsense here. So, I don't know, maybe you just had a bad moment. (Probably just can't stand Brazil doing so well. Especially with Italy watching it on TV.)
So I apologize for being too dismissive.

That said, Brazil won 4 - 1 FT. Not many surprises in the round of 16 so far. If Spain and Portugal make it too tomorrow, the quarters will be full strength. And then the Cup can actually begin.

How did Uruguay only draw with South Korea?! If yesterday's result is any indication of how bad South Korea are, then I fear Uruguay may not reach another World Cup semi-final or win another Copa America for decades.

No, I saw Uruguay reach the semi-final (and beat South Korea on their way there) in 2010, and beat the European Champions among others on their way to the quarter-finals, where they played the eventual winners, in 2018 too. Before this World Cup, there
was evidence that Uruguay are a good team.

    They are a good team.

But the better team on paper doesn't always win. There are far better examples of that than Uruguay drawing with Korea.Argentina lost to Saudi Arabia, France lost to Tunisia, Brazil lost to Cameroon.

That's why your question was very naive.

But it's not just the draw with South Korea. They played badly and lost against Portugal too; and they've not reached the semi-final of the Copa America or World Cup since 2011. I think Uruguay might be going through a period of further decline.
