From Real Mardin@21:1/5 to All on Sun Nov 27 13:54:55 2022
The last matches of the second round of group matches.

lf the Cameroon - Serbia game produces a loser then that team will be eliminated if Brazil and Switzerland draw.

If Ghana lose they'll be eliminated.

I just want to say that Uruguay, like Croatia, appeared to play way
below their level in their opening match, and I will not be in the
least surprised if they, like Croatia, do MUCH better in the second
one. They look to have more talent than any time since at least 2010.

Really interesting day to see if Serbia can come back and
if Swiss can take at least a point from Brazil.

On a press conference Stojkovic said Mitrovic was on 50%,
Vlahovic on 30% and Kostic out and that if those were fully
healed it would have been a different story against Brazil.
He also said situation is much better now, but without any details.

Serbs in the comments are saying that he came on a press conference a
bit drunk, I saw few short clips, could easily be true.

If Cameroon, Canada, and Catar become the first teams to be eliminated I'm starting to see a pattern.

If Ghana lose they'll be eliminated.

    Perhaps Cana, too!

Yeah a must win game for Cameroon. We're not going to beat Brazil, so if we don't beat Serbia we're going out in the 1st round.

Well, well. Despite early Serbia pressure and Mitrovic hitting the post once and missing another very good chance from close range, Cameroon have taken the lead! Castalletto (sp?) tapped in at the far post when the Serbia defence failed to head clear a
free kick cross and the ball basically fell to him. The entire Cameroon bench ran onto the pitch to celebrate!

46th minute free kick, Pavlovic rises above two defenders to head the ball into the net for he equaliser.

48th minute - Sergej Malinkovic-Savic with a low shot from outside the area beats the keeper to make it 2-1 Serbia.

52 minutes Cameroon with too many forward and the left back position completely exposed, Serbia break with a good team passing move and exploit........of course, the left flank, ball squared in for an easy finish for Mitrovic, 3-1 Serbia.

63 minutes, direct through ball from the back puts Aboubakar through one on one, he chips the ball over the keeper! Linesman nearly ruined the party with a late offside call but VAR does its job - Cameroon 2 - Serbia 3.

Korea threw the kitchen sink at Ghana in the final minutes (including 10+ minutes of injury time), but Ghana's desperate defending was enough to hold on.

A pretty even first half I thought. Serbia looked the slightly better team in the 2nd half, particularly in the first 15 minutes.

So, we're going out in the 1st round. Assuming we don't play unusually badly against Brazil, at least we won't be accused of stinking up the World Cup like we were in 2014. We put in 2 reasonable performances.

It was a weird one. I feel that the moment the ref went to look at it on the screen he basically had
to give it because of the way it looks (but then, why no Red Card for DOGSO?), but it would have been
better if VAR had never intervened in the first place because the discretion of the ref fully supported

It was not a brilliant dummy--he was trying to hit it

Uruguay might have done what I predicted if they hadn't
started with three backs. But perhaps not. Cavani was useless and
    Suarez wasn't appreciably better.

I too thought that the Uruguayan defender who gave up the

We might have an answer to our mystery.

Rumor among Serbian fans has spread that Vlahovic banged Rajkovic's (goalkeeper) wife,
someone is mentioning fight among them too.
That's why Stojkovic is punishing him by not bringing him in the game
    although
he is fully fit, was seen warming up and asked Stojkovic to put him in.
Team has divided, some players said they won't pass him the ball if he
    gets to play.
This would also explain why Stojkovic was drunk or under some medications.

Mitrovic and Kostic and least look pretty gassed and no sub,
it must be something serious with Vlahovic,

He was serious with someone's wife :D
