The first several days of Group Stage action at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar has been engulfed in controversy off-the-pitch but has also delivered some incredibly compelling action on-the-pitch. When it comes to FOX and Telemundo’s World Cup
coverage, it’s been a mix of good and bad so far.

US rights-holders FOX Sports (English) and Telemundo Deportes (Spanish) have taken different approaches to the presentation of the competition. Both broadcasters have strengths and weaknesses we’ve seen thus far in the tournament through eight matches.

I have directtv. I paid $8 extra for a month to get the Spanish
package that includes Telemundo, which used to be part of basic
service. But there's something wrong with the Telemundo feed they are
using. The picture doesn't fit the standard flat screen--it's
vertically compressed, with black space at the top and bottom, and the
players look short and fat! This is really driving me nuts,
particularly when JP Dellacamera, who has literally been driving me
nuts since 1986--he has never learned a thing about soccer--is doing
the game. I called DirectTV but they say they can't do anything.
    Ridiculous.

I have directtv. ... But there's something wrong with the Telemundo
feed they are using. The picture doesn't fit the standard flat
    screen--it's vertically compressed,

I now have (no other choice) Comcast internet, no TV service.
Comcast offers Peacock streaming for "free" (or should I say, included in
the price?). Peacock streams Telemundo's World Cup feed. Picture looks
    fine.

“I now have (no other choice) Comcast internet”

Axiomatic, you mean “Horncast”. How IDIOTS Americans can be! If they only lived in a world driven by competition!

Anyway, why don’t you try the FREE Internet in sports broadcasting? It is annoying at times, granted. But you can use a free VPN… ain’t it much cheaper than any Horncast?
