The final thread in my exciting series of posts on the best teams of all time.

I need some help with this one, from someone who knows more about women’s football than I do. Where’s Bruce Scott? I remember he posted some interesting info about who the best teams were over various time periods once.

My last 3 lists have ended up reading like simple lists of all the World Champions; this one reads like a list of all the Champions of Europe. Here’s who I think have been the best team in the World since the start of what was originally known as the
    UEFA Women’s Cup:

    2002-03 FFC Frankfurt
    2003-05 Umeå IK
    2005-06 Turbine Potsdam
    2006-09 FFC Frankfurt
    2009-10 FCR 2001 Duisburg
    2010-11 Turbine Potsdam
    2011-13 Lyon
    2013-15 Wolfsburg
    2015-16 FFC Frankfurt
    2016-. Lyon

    What do you think?

Noone got any comments on this? Or do you all agree 100% with my list and have no further comment to make? If so, you can always suggest contenders for the rest of the top 3?

I won't pretend to have any clue. I watch some women games only, mostly when my club (Internacional) is involved, or the Brazilian NT, or it's the World Cup final.

    Tchau!

No NWSL team doesn't look right. Teams like Portland, Seattle, Chicago etc. had/have multiple World Cup winners in their
squad as a matter of course.

    Ciao,

    Ciao,

The best NWSL team was probably North Carolina Courage in recent years. But their reign as best in the USA coincided with rss's unanimous choice as the best team of all-time, Lyon's reign as the best team in the World.
