He used to be focused and got a big commitment with this task.
    Hope that everything's ok.
Me neither. The Corriere provides excellent information the day before but nothing good on the day of the game or the day after. They show the tentative bench on the article the day before but do not confirm it after the day was played.
Team, I recently changed jobs so I have not been able to work on this. As of last tally, we have 1994 pending and three games from 1970, correct? Has anyone made any headway on this?

    Good afternoon everyone

Apologies for being out of the loop on this for a while (new job, other stuff going on, etc), so it fell quite a way down my list of priorities.

I have managed to find the substitutes list for the Romania - Czechoslovakia match in 1970 (via the Rude Pravo newspaper)

    ROM: 1-Raducanu, 6-Coe, 13-Deleanu, 14-Gergely, 17-Tataru
    CZE: 10-Adamec, 12-Pivarnik, 13-Flesar, 16-Hrdlicka, 18-Vesely

That now leaves just 3 matches from 1970 (or 2.5 as we have the Swedish substitutes in their match against Israel).

    Group One
Belgium v El Salvador (Polleunis [BEL] and Cortes + Semeno [ELS] were the used substitutes)
Soviet Union v Belgium (Lovchev + Kiselyov [URS] were the used substitutes, Belgium made no substitutions)

    Group Two
Sweden v Israel (Shuruk was the used substitute for Israel, and we know all of the Swedish subs: 13-Cronqvistm, 14-Kristensson, 17-Pettersson, 19-Nicklasson, 22-Palsson)

As for 1994, I have the following unknowns:

    SUI v USA: 18-Rueda [SUI]
    BRA v RUS: 11-Beschastnykh [RUS]
    KOR v ESP: 3-Lee Jong-hwa [KOR]

My 1994 list of non-substitutes is as follows (suspended indicates a suspension by FIFA for 2 YC or RC (including suspensions carried over from qualifying) and not a suspension by their individual FA [e.g. Effenberg])

    Group A
    Colombia: 8-Lozano (v USA)
    Romania: 9-Raducioiu (v Argentina - suspended), 16-Vladoiu (v USA, Argentina, Sweden - all suspended)
Switzerland: none (possibly Rueda v USA as above)
    USA: 6-Harkes (v Brazil - suspended)

    Group B
Brazil: 16-Leonardo (v Netherlands, Sweden, Italy - all suspended), 16-Paulo Sergio v USA
    Cameroon: 1-Bell (v Russia), 3-Song (v Russia - suspended)
    Russia: 3-Gorlukovich (v Cameroon - suspended), 18-Onopko (v Brazil - suspended), possibly 11-Beschastnykh (v Brazil as above)
    Sweden: 5-Ljung (v Bulgaria - suspended), 6-Schwarz (v Brazil [SF] - suspended), 9-Thern (v Bulgaria - suspended), 10-Dahlin (v Brazil [Group match] - suspended)

    Group C
    Bolivia: 2-Pena (v Germany, South Korea - all suspended), Etcheverry (v South Korea, Spain - all suspended), 16-Cristaldo (v Spain - suspended), 22-Baldivieso (v Spain - suspended)
Germany: 20-Effenberg (v Belgium, Bulgaria), 21-Basler (v Bulgaria - suspended) South Korea: none (possibly Lee Jonh-hwa as above)
    Spain: 1-Zubizarreta (v South Korea - suspended), 4-Camarasa (v Italy), 15-Caminero (v Switzerland - suspended), 18-Alkorta (v Bolivia), 20-Nadal (v Germany, Bolivia - all suspended)

    Group D
Argentina: 10-Maradona (v Bulgaria, Romania - all suspended)
    Bulgaria: 2-Kremenliev (v Germany - suspended), 3-Ivanov + 4-Tsvetanov + 6-Yankov (all three v Mexico - suspended)
    Greece: 16-Alexoudis + 18-Karataidis (both v Nigeria)
    Nigeria: none

    Group E
    Italy: 1-Pagliuca (v Mexico, Nigeria - all suspended), 4-Costacurta (v Brazil - suspended), 6-Baresi (v Mexico, Nigeria, Spain, Bulgaria), 9-Tassotti (v Mexico and suspended v Bulgaria, Brazil), 21-Zola (v Spain, Bulgaria - all suspended)
    Mexico: 8-Aspe (v Norway - suspended), 9-Sanchez (v Italy), 14-Del Olmo (v Bulgaria - suspended)
    Norway: 18-Haland (v Ireland - suspended)
    Ireland: 2-Irwin + 3-Phelan (both v Norway - suspended)

    Group F
    Belgium: 4-Albert (v Morocco - suspended)
    Morocco: 6-Naybet (v Saudi Arabia - suspended)
Netherlands: 6-Wouters (v Ireland - suspended), 21-De Wolf (all matches - suffered a calf injury during a practice session the day before Netherlands opening match)
    Saudi Arabia: 6-Amin (v Belgium - suspended)

I would like to attach an Excel file to this conversation but cannot
find the command. Where is it?

Usenet does not really allow attaching files on regular groups, only
binary groups which most servers don't propagate.

Excel files are "binary files" and it would need to be encoded somehow
and posted to a binary group, probably split over several postings. How
to do it, and how to download and merge multiple posts, depends on the newsreader.

It looks like you are using Google Groups, see e.g. here:

    https://www.dummies.com/article/technology/software/google-products/how-to-share-files-with-google-groups-144732/

and they end the first paragraph with

Keep in mind, though, that you can’t post files in Usenet groups (that
is, groups with names like this: rec.gardens.us). You can post files
    only in non-Usenet Google groups.

An alternative it to upload the file to Google Docs and make it
universally available for reading. Or use some other file sharing
    provider, Microsoft, Dropbox, etc,

    Good afternoon everyone

Apologies for not updating this thread for a while, but I have had a number of other things going on which meant I had to put this little 'project' on hold for a bit.

Anyway, for some reason, FIFA decided that they would revert back to putting all non-starting squad players down as substitutes for the latest World Cup (2022 Qatar), however, I have managed to confirm that the following players were not named as
    substitutes in the matches mentioned.

I have also noted if players were missing due to suspensions. I haven't yet been able to confirm the reason for all of the 'non-suspension' players that were not named as a substitute but have made notes where possible.

    Group A
Ecuador: 20-Sebas Mendez (v Senegal, suspended for 2 yellow cards)
    Netherlands: none
    Qatar: 15-Bassam Al-Rawi (v Senegal & Netherlands)
